They took down the old TV, took off the mount, patched up the old inlet of the conduit, made a new inlet, threaded cables through, mounted the TV lower (with my new mounting bracket), and hauled away the old TV. Anthony has done a lot of work in my building before and knew exactly where the studs would be and that there would be a transverse metal bar that wound make threading cables hard if you were to not know it existed. Before choosing a company, I compared several TV mounting businesses on both Yelp and Google. I ultimately decided on Bay Area Wall Mounts because of their established reviews and the photos of their previous work, and I'm glad I did. Ismat installed our 65" LG C6 TV along with an LG S95TR soundbar above our fireplace and mantel. I was initially unsure whether the fireplace and mantel would make the installation more difficult, but he handled it without any issues and made sure everything was centered, level, and positioned properly. One of the biggest things I wanted was a clean installation with no visible cords. They were able to create a power bridge system that concealed the wiring and routed everything to a nearby outlet. They also left us with additional connectivity so we can add two more HDMI devices in the future. The finished setup looks very clean and professional. The price was fair, although perhaps a little on the higher side compared with some options I looked at. That said, I would rather pay for quality workmanship and have the job done correctly than simply choose the cheapest option, especially when mounting an expensive TV above a fireplace. Overall, I'm very happy with the finished result and the quality of the installation. They claimed outlet was not "up to code" and didn't work. It works perfectly fine. they are not licensed electricians or handy men. Worst of all they tried to leave without even straightening the TV! when I pointed out to the level was clearly showing it wasn't straight, they told me it was "the best they could do" The entire experience was extremely unprofessional. I was genuinely concerned they might damage my TV and I ultimately had to call an actual professional installer afterward to fix their work. The small amount you might save is absolutely not worth it. I would strongly recommend going with a reputable professional instead.

The installations were not exactly straightforward. The main TV was going over an original brick fireplace, and I chose a pull-down mount, which requires much more precision and skill than a standard TV mount. I'm the daughter of a long line of carpenters, so I tend to notice how someone approaches their work. From the moment Jay arrived, I could tell he was extremely knowledgeable and skilled. He took the time to prepare properly, worked confidently and carefully, and I could immediately relax knowing that everything was going to be mounted securely and correctly. Watching someone who truly knows what they're doing is such a pleasure. He was also incredibly clean and respectful of my home. His wife worked alongside him throughout the installation, and the two of them were exceptionally efficient without ever making the work feel rushed. He was also wonderfully resourceful. I had planned to purchase a separate bracket for my soundbar, but he found an elegant way to attach it using the existing TV mount, saving me about $90 while actually giving me a cleaner-looking installation. During the installation, he had me hold the TV while he was trying to get the hinge in correctly, since this TV mounts flat against the wall. As a petite woman, I was physically supporting a large 65-inch television above my shoulders during this process. Not only is this TV extremely heavy, it is also a high-end TV in the $2,000+ range. This is not a situation where a paying customer should be acting as extra labor. If I were going to wing it with someone holding the TV, I would have just asked a friend. I paid $500 for a professional service and was not prepared or expected to physically support a large, expensive TV during installation. If a second person was required, Kevin should have provided one or clearly communicated that to me in advance so I could prepare appropriately. On top of that, he made several comments like "you should go to the gym more," framed jokingly. This was not a friend helping me out. This was a paid professional service, and those comments were inappropriate. Kevin also did not have the correct washer or hardware for the specific mount I was using. While I am not a handyman, I could visibly see that he was improvising with washers that were crooked and did not look secure. I expressed concern and asked if he could order the correct parts and come back, explaining that this was a very expensive TV and I wanted it done properly. He repeatedly assured me not to worry and said it was totally fine. It was not fine. Six months later, the washer hinge has come undone, the TV is now lopsided, and I have had to pay Best Buy an additional $200 to come and reinstall the TV correctly on top of the original $500 I already paid. Unfortunately, the lack of professionalism continued beyond the TV installation. During the mirror installation, Kevin argued with me about the exact placement instead of listening to where I wanted it. He ultimately mounted it at the height he preferred. While it looks fine, it is worth noting that he is over six feet tall and I am five feet tall. This is my home, and placement should have been my decision. What truly shocked me was what happened next. After finishing the mirror installation, Kevin attempted to clean the mirror by spitting a large loogie directly onto it and wiping it with a washcloth. I genuinely could not believe what I was seeing. If that were not enough, after he left, he sent me an unsolicited text message telling me he thought I was really sexy and asking if I would be interested in dating him. I was completely shocked by this and found it extremely inappropriate. To summarize, did Kevin get the job done in the sense that the TV was mounted in the moment and the cables were run behind the wall. Yes. But was the work professional, durable, or done correctly. No. I had to redo it. I would not recommend this service, especially for high-value installations.

After browsing their work, I knew they would execute my vision for my living room. I was reluctant to mount my TV above my fireplace, but unfortunately there was not another configuration that would work well. I even had to downsize my TV, and despite multiple changes to the original request, UMS was super flexible and accommodating. They came through on time, and knocked the job out in a little over an hour. I opted for conduit vs a recessed cable run, but it looks super clean and professional, as I envisioned. Should I decide to go in-wall in the future, I will definitely call them back to take on the job.
