"Dr" Jenny Lee should be sued for malpractice for advising patients to stop taking anticonvulsant medication and canceling corrective surgery without being a real doctor. I made the mistake of sending my dad to her, who had been suffering from pain in his neck and arm. Rather than stick to her lane and just practice acupuncture, she told my dad that he IMMEDIATELY needed to get off Gabapentin and cancel a pending surgery. GOOGLE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU ABRUPTLY CUT OFF GABAPENTIN. It's horrible. It's life threatening. My father ended up in the emergency room and our entire family dealt with a horrible medical (physical and mental) crisis. Thanks, "Dr" Lee! Thanks for a memory we'll never forget, thinking I was witnessing my dad die. I cannot believe this woman is still allowed to practice any kind of health treatment when she so clearly doesn't understand how unqualified she is to give medical advice to vulnerable patients- not to mention how dangerous it is. Was given a lot of mysticism over the few sessions I tried, and had a lot of painful slips. At one point the main technician confessed (unprompted) that it's not real acupuncture because of US law, and that it doesn't really do anything compared to Chinese traditional acupuncture. I was going to these sessions to humor my partner, but after one of the visits in which my muscles twitched, I was told that means I have brain damage and only acupuncture could cure it. YES! YES! YES! Dr. Jenny is the best acupuncturist I've had in this country! And I've been to some, from a school to professional practitioners. For years, my 80-yr old mom has been going from one physical therapy group to another, trying to find relief for the arthritis in her neck, and her knees. For the last two years, she could not turn her head. I saw her Wed and noticed she was more vibrant. She then told me she had just had a treatment by Dr. Jenny. She turned her head, and bent her knees to show me what she could now do. She was amazed and so was I, all from the first treatment. The next day I came down with an infection, went to see an MD who told me to take 6-8 Advils every 8 hours for the pain, it just didn't seem right that I'm dumping more toxins in my body. I decided to see Dr. Jenny for relief. She told me what she's going to do, what I should do, and how I would feel the next day. I was faced down on the table as she inserted needles from the top of my head, down my spine, to my toes. Then she directed heatlamps on me (first time someone did this), turned off the lights, and off I dozed to lala-land. Then Cece came in to do the massage. Now, this is a very different massage from all massages I've ever had. It was deep but it did not hurt my muscles. I felt relief instead. The strokes started from the vertebrae and radiated out, like following the nerves, instead of following the muscles. It was so good that I asked for an hour. I felt circulation for the first time in years. Then they put my head on a contraption that stretched your neck gently. I woke up this morning and my pain from the internal organ infection has subsided greatly. I have more energy and it even seems as if I can see better!!! Their fees are reasonable. $50 for acupuncture, $25 for 30 min massage, $40 for an hour massage. The place is not fancy schmansy, but clean. I cannot recommend Dr. Li. I had a problem with my jaw (TMJ) and after 7 sessions there was no change. My jaw actually got worse during treatment and I got a bacterial infection that required antibiotics. To be fair this might not have been caused by Dr. Li's treatment, so I am giving her 3 stars instead of 2. Dr. Li was very anti-western medicine, which I can understand completely. But, she did not suggest seeing a medical doctor when I had the infection, which would have been prudent. I did see one and got the antibiotics which cleared up the infection. What I experienced was a dramatic drop in blood pressure, neck pain, and shoulder pain. There were two occasions, over a two week period, when my diastolic pressure was reduced by 11 and 12 points. Dr. Li's Office is not the newest... BUT!!! if you get past looks, you will find that she is an extremely knowledgeable acupuncturist. After getting injured on the job in the shoulder, it was hard to find someone who was good and understands insurance/works comp in the Chinese medicine world. But the main reward is her experience. Before going to her, I was just doing physical therapy and wasn't getting any better. After 2 months of once a week treatments, I found relief in both movement and pain. I continue to go to her even though the Works Comp has stopped covering it so I can get a full recovery. The added benefit is that she works with a great masseuse. She is a tiny person with hands like steel. For a great massage - she is well worth it and very, very reasonably priced. My kids love to see her when they are home from college. Slight Cons - Dr Li does think she can cure everything but it is due to how much she cares. Focus on what is really important so she also stays focused as she really wants to make you better. Also - Chinese is their first language so stick to the facts so you are clear with what you need. Good doctors who care are hard to find and she is not pricey at all. A good friend continues to tell me, "make an appointment with yourself."... I had been feeling intense shoulder and neck pain, and a friend has recommended Dr. Jenny Li to me for a long time. So, I finally decided to "make an appointment with myself" and go see her. It wasn't long until Dr. Jenny had me figured out. I told her my shoulder and neck pain, although has always been there, had intensified in the last month. She asked how I was sleeping. I replied I can't get enough sleep, and I have no energy which is highly unlike me. She looked at my tongue, felt my wrists with a concerned look on her face and asked how my stress level had increased lately. I told her I had recently lost my dad. "You're depressed", she replied. "I am going to treat your whole body, not just your neck, you will feel better". Some reviews of Wynn Acupuncture have not been too complimentary, complaining about the aesthetics of her office. I ask every person who needs her help..."Is it the nice fountain babbling away in the background with the awaiting cucumber lemon water you find at some health spas healing you? Or is it rather a warm, knowledgeable, friendly Doctor, with a masseuse named Annie you need at the ready on your side to heal you body and soul? I saw Dr. Li through Kaiser because it was inexpensive. I figured the location her business resides in would be very high end and well equipped with good service. I was wrong. The office is unsanitary, small and claustrophobic. Dr. Li is somewhat rude, cuts you off in between sentences and dictates how the treatment will go. Eh, maybe it's a cultural thing, but I don't believe in doing business that way. I found this place on Yelp with good reviews and sent my mom in for treatment, she has had 4 spinal and neck surgeries in the past and was suffering from pain and anxiety caused by the painkillers she was using. I was diagnosed with Bell's Palsy about 5 months ago. After being discharged from hospital I started taking medication. Those who know anything about the disease they know that one side of the face gets affected, which easily it can be misinterpreted with stroke. I was recommended to Dr. Li by Dr. Rahm due to chronic pain issues I had been struggling with for over a year. My symptoms were strange and were not being affected my modern medicine. I have been seeing Dr. Li for a little over one month now. I have had horrific migraines for ~15 years, and after visits to doctors and trying migraine medicine, I began taking a homeopathic medicine on my own. After taking this medicine for 1.5 years, I noticed my hair was thinning and while my migraines had diminished, I knew I could not continue to take this medicine forever (especially because I plan to have children and this medicine is not recommended for pregnant or nursing women). I had heard about acupuncture and decided I didn't have much to lose. Prior to seeing Dr. Li, if I had ever missed a migraine pill (to be taken 2x a day) I would get a terrible migraine. Even WITH the medicine, I would still have at least one migraine per month. Dr. Li is very knowledgeable in her field and has already had me off of my medicine for 2 weeks without a migraine. She is very flexible with scheduling and has made recommendations to help my body detox and I am beyond impressed with the results. If you are in any sort of pain, do yourself a huge favor and make an appointment with Dr. Li. After 3 sessions I began feeling infinitely better. I owe Dr. Li big time!! I'm pretty sure it's been about a year since I visited Dr. Li for my chronic migraines. I just can't believe the change I have experienced.
