Since then, I've received treatments for back pain, leg pain, cramps, shoulder pain, headaches and even congestion. I've also experienced what felt like an emotional release during acupuncture. Twice during my treatments, I unexpectedly started crying lol. Apparently, acupuncture can help release trapped emotions, emotional tension. Before seeing Dr. Joukar, I would take muscle relaxers and pain medication as needed for my back pain. I honestly can't remember the last time I needed to take one because I've been feeling so much better. Dr. Joukar is kind, knowledgeable, friendly, patient, professional, and genuinely cares about his patients. The staff is always incredibly nice as well, and I feel welcomed every time. I highly recommend Dr. Joukar to anyone looking for acupuncture. I'm so grateful I found him!

She didn't question my use of Rx drugs or diagnoses, instead she listened attentively and asked me about recent bloodwork. This was a relief because there are natural medicine practitioners who will tell you to stop taking medicines prescribed to you. After one session I felt a great relief of stress and tension. After a week of taking herbs my symptom severity was cut in half. Now that I've finished two weeks of herbs and a few weeks of acupuncture, my symptoms have almost gone. I have been able to stop taking my antacid medications because I simply don't need them. I would highly recommend Dr. Koo's services to anyone. A note on the location: CHA Acupuncture has just recently moved and it can be a bit hard to see from the street. There is a green building with a small opening to a parking lot in the back next to it. It's right next to Brio Apartments. I'm including a pic to help out.

I have been to numerous well-known acupuncturists in LA and OC due to my list of chronic pain issues (pelvic fracture, plantar fasciitis, herniated discs, migraines, and carpal tunnel), but no one treated me better than Dr. Cha with his attention to detail, professionalism, and wealth of knowledge in oriental medicine. Whenever I feel off, I always make appointments with Dr. Cha for acupuncture and cupping sessions. I personally don't like to make referrals since everyone's condition and symptoms are so different, but I recently referred my boyfriend to Dr. Cha who was suffering a back/shoulder injury. Dr. Cha takes his time and listens to every patient's concerns and customizes each treatment plan accordingly. There is an acupuncture clinic operated by Dr. Shin near my home, and I had been a regular patient there for several years. Recently, I developed a herniated disc in my neck. Since I have always thought highly of Dr. Shin's medical skills, I was actually happy to call the clinic and make an appointment. However, the manager who answered the phone abruptly refused to schedule an appointment. Instead, she told me that three medical bills from eight months ago had not been paid because the insurance company had refused to cover them, and that I personally had to take care of the entire $360 balance for those three visits. Out of nowhere, they brought up medical bills that were already eight months old and told me that since they had not been paid, I had to resolve the issue before they would even make an appointment for me. I was so shocked and frustrated that I immediately called my insurance company to find out what was going on. The insurance company told me that there was absolutely no record of the clinic ever submitting or requesting payment for these bills. I specifically asked whether Dr. Shin's clinic had ever submitted these claims, and they confirmed that there was no record of any such claims. So I asked the insurance representative to contact Dr. Shin's clinic directly and explain in detail how the billing and claims process works, since apparently the clinic did not understand or know how to properly handle the process. I also asked them to help resolve the case. A few hours later, I called Dr. Shin's clinic to speak with the employee who had handled the matter and explain what the insurance company had told me. But instead of apologizing for their mistake, the employee continued to act as though nothing had happened, trying to brush the whole matter aside with an extremely dismissive and unpleasant attitude. I was honestly at a loss for words. Rather than taking care of the patient's appointment first, the clinic chose to put the entire burden of unpaid medical bills--apparently resulting from their own negligence and failure to properly handle the claims--on the patient, without making even the slightest effort to resolve the issue themselves. This kind of rude and irresponsible treatment has unfortunately made me decide that I will never return to Dr. Shin's clinic again. Dr. Shin, your medical skills are important, but the way your staff treats patients and the level of courtesy and customer service they provide are just as important. I sincerely hope you will pay more attention to this aspect of your practice as well.
