This place is disgusting. My grandmother started off on the assisted living side and something about that part of the hallway was hot and smelled terrible. She transitioned to the memory care side where it was even worse. The sink she had was detached from the wall, her room was barely ever cleaned properly so there were ants crawling everywhere, the place has a disgusting smell. There were times where maybe the toilet overflowed and the water would just be sitting there for idk how long. The staff is very disorganized. There really weren't any activities for those on the memory care side they just sat in chairs all day staring at walls or whatever was playing at the time on the tv. It was like pulling teeth to get them to communicate with the next facility we were moving her to. There was one staff member who took an interest in making sure she was okay and that was very much appreciated. This is the perfect place to leave your loved one if you don't like them. read more

Try paying qualified people to work here including a chef instead of a cook and a maintenance department that does something besides roll garbage cans out all day.. Try repairing the apartments instead of just painting them. And don't piss off Danielle or she will find a way to get rid of you. read more

Today, my mother and I toured Wyndom Lakes for my parents. It has been years since I have been there, since 1988. The young lady that assisted us, I do not recall her name unfortunately was most friendly, helpful, and maintain a very pleasant demeanor. The facility itself, however, less than desirable. Transition strips were missing from the room to the hallway, there was a peculiar odor when you first walk into the assisted living building, and the air vents appeared not to have been cleaned in an extensive period of time. If I based placement on staff, this would have been a winner because of the young lady that helped us however staff is not what we need, we need a clean safe place that will accommodate the needs of my parents. I am sad to say this is not the right fit. On a sidenote I did a check in through Yelp and it said that I was getting a free gift, however, they did not realize that was still up. They offered me a ballpoint pen because they did not have the usual home baked cookies or homemade pie as they did not know the offer was there. read more

it's not my home but it's ok - it's very open. The sidewalks are covered so if it's raining you can easily walk or use your scooter. Everything is on one level, no elevator. Many of the units have screened in back porches with doors. Some of those units have a sidewalk right up to their back door. I wish they would make all the units have this added luxury. A standard. My apartment has a nice screened in porch with a door that opens up to the back field, but there is no sidewalk and there is quiet a drop to step down. Visit WL look around. It is very pet friendly. Most of the med-techs and LPNs are very kind. You always have a couple employees not happy. The Dine room has made changes for the better, but meals are served at specific times. They are doing maintenance on the buildings to restore them back to their "beauty ". I wish they had pictures hanging of this place opening day till present day hanging. Know:If your independent living make sure you understand your independent and will need to call 911 if you need help or have fallen. Assisted living is may what you need. It's nice though ,here you can transition from independent to assisted to memory care if that's what you need. There are activities here but is a slower pace since a couple residents are nearing 100! But thats ok. The young ladies at the front desk are a delight. Always NICE! I say give it a try here, bring your dog and if it's not for you, it's ok. I wish they would put a speed bump or two in the front and here in the little back road... I know you are in a hurry but older residents on scooters or walking their dogs can't always move as fast as you. And then there are the geese- I love watching them, but some people are just mean and speed up when they are moving so slow... clipping the goose. it's not nice.... A slow sign and speed bumps might help. or a funny sign saying "geese crossing". Any humor at a retirement community is a must. I post good and not so good just because this place could be the best retirement community, the way it's laid out. Walmart , Vet, Food places near the entrance. that's a good thing. hope this helps you decide or at least come look. read more

So far, so good. We moved my Father in to the Independent living side of WL. I know it will be an adjustment for my Dad. I met two Ambassadors in the building that my Dad lives in and they were very kind and sociable. I finished up my Dad's laundry in the laundry room. The laundry room was very limited space and small-but it is doable. I like the dining area-the residents sit down and order what they want to eat and then a Server brings it out to them. They have a Hair Salon, a place to work out, a library with books and a computer. I like the place so far. My Dad can transition in time, when he needs more help along the way. read more

Well , the only thing to say is that no one ever returns your phone calls. It is very difficult getting a hold of anyone or having anyone return your calls. I know people are busy, but i's good customer service to return phone calls and emails in a timely manner. read more

I checked out many places for my Aunt and this was the best for both of us. It is close to my work, and she gets transportation to her MD appointments-even to Mayo. The food is really good, best taco salad I have had in a long time. She loves the Fried Chicken that is served on Sunday. Her dog loves the screen porch. Not bad for $2100 a month, three delicious meals, all utilities, cable, and transportation included. I wish the geese were less messy but oh well, the rest of the good puts it in the back of my mind. I love the receptionists, they are really nice. The Executive Director is always out and about. She remembers the resident's names and that shows me that she actually gets out of the office. Since Pacifica bought Wyndham Lakes it has gone down on care. My mother-in-law is in memory care. She was placed in hospice. Before this occurred she was not being bathed, the food is horrible, they served her mashed potatoes and cold fries at the same time. Most of her clothes that were bought at Christmas and in May are gone. Someone took her Walker out of her room and took it. We went to the main office and nothing was done. Went in there today and they had her sitting straight up in her wheelchair and she was hanging over the side of it barely responsive. I lowered the back of it and placed in it correctly. PLEASE DO NOT PLACE YOUR LOVED ONE HERE!!! read more

Visited this community and absolutely loved it. Everything has been newly remolded and you can see that everyone is working hard to make it the best. I walked into the community to see residents playing trivia-a little later residents were baking cookies which smelled great. read more
