!!!BEWARE!!! You may never realize how this property treats tenants until you move out. After more than two years as a loyal tenant, Wyncote House confiscated my entire security deposit and grossly overcharged me for so-called "cleaning." Due to unavoidable logistical and time constraints at move-out, I could not be on site- a family helped me move. I arranged for a professional deep cleaning on my move-out day; however, the cleaner was unable to access the property due to entry restrictions. I was never informed of this issue and only learned about it weeks later, when I received their notice. I responded immediately, expressed my shock, and clearly stated that I was fully willing to pay whatever was required to have the unit professionally cleaned--at any standard they requested. Despite this, the property withheld over $1,700 for "cleaning" a two-bedroom unit. Worse, they charged me for the replacement of the refrigerator, range, microwave, and bathroom vanities. These items were not damaged. They were used normally and were in good working condition up to my final day. Had anything been nonfunctional, I would have requested repair or replacement during my tenancy, which would have been their responsibility. I did not--because everything worked. Instead, management mischaracterized routine cleaning needs as irreparable damage and used my move-out as an opportunity to replace items at my expense. Their itemized charges were excessive--for example, $100 just to clean a microwave. After exhausting my security deposit, they demanded an additional $1,100+. This was done knowing I had already moved out of state and was effectively powerless to dispute it. This behavior is deceptive, unethical, and unacceptable. My candid advice: avoid this property. If you do choose to live here--or already do--document everything and be prepared, because this could very likely happen to you when you move out. Consider yourself warned. read more

Run from this poorly managed apartment building. It has been one of the worst experiences in apartment living. I have lived with flooding-pipes , leaking, banging pipes, broken plumbing, backed up pipes, no water pressure, broken garbage disposals, trash all over grounds, the list goes on. Lady at the front desk was unnecessarily rude when all I was trying to do was deliver food for someone who lived there. She was blatantly rude and didn't even bother trying to help or clarify anything. That right there sets the tone for this place. read more

DO NOT RENT HERE. Mgt. is fully aware heat goes on by law Oct 1 every year. Every year for the past couple years they say a part is broken and turn it on whenever they choose. It was confirmed to me by the township that was nothing broken or missing. They thought the law was Oct. 15. (BS) That said-they turned it on when they were forced to Oct. 21. They impose old rules/laws with NO NOTICE. Like towing cars with NO WARNING! The tow company at night takes you to a dark (pit) below ground located in Glenside. They verbally abuse you and do not give you access to your car to get the info they need because MGT. told them not to. My pocketbook and all the needed items were in the car. For each night it is left in the pit till you can resolve the situation they add an extra $100.00. Only they neglect to tell you that when they are trying to force you to leave your car. These are good apartments for students. Many grad students live here who probably attend Salus University. Only 2 minute drive from the school. It's nice and cozy. Has enough space and decent size rooms. Big living room. My friend was living in a two bedroom floor. Has central A/C and heating. Rooms have carpet flooring and personal closet. Bathrooms are small but at least you get your own bathroom per room. Kitchen is nice with enough space for maybe four people. Has a dining room area with tile floors including in the kitchen too. Comes with a stove, sink, refrigerator, microwave, cabinets, sink and dishwasher. They have nice black and grey marble like material design. Must provide your know furniture. Lights that work. Rooms depend but my friend had their own patio which was nice. Shows a view of the parking lot. Interior inside the main lobby is nice. Reminds me like a hotel lobby with a receptionist desk and lobby seating. Has an elevator that reaches nine levels high. The rent for these apartments are a bit pricey but I can see why for the price. Some of the walls and buildings need some works and major renovations like the elevators. The building is old was probably built in the 80's. Many elderly people live here too. It's nice and would recommend this place for prospective students and retired people. read more

Place has gone down the tubes big time in terms of the quality of life past year, let alone the change the past few years. Poorest cell phone signal anywhere with dropped calls, bad receptions in a time when a phone is vital as Corona Virus plagues the nation. With incompetent management currently and many tenants observing the lies they dole and lies they are caught in because they can't keep track of what they lied about, and even going back to older management pushed out they will in no way hold themselves accountable for your phone service, nor any other issue. They will and have told people that it is not their problem, that it is your carrier which is not true. Signals are blocked with the way the building is constructed and if you are in a corner unit where the building jets out on a perpendicular with its bizarre 1960's design, forget it. Either get a land line or move. Even the Comcast guy had to go out on the terrace to use his phone. Place is so over rated. Don't fall for their doctored up Facebook page or website that is never updated and pretty much inactive. They fired the entire receptionist desk staff and now on Saturday's have a girl there who looks straight down as people enter, exit and come out of elevators. The most likely conclusion would be that she is playing with her phone. Parking is filled to capacity from typically 4pm on including weekends. When restaurants are usually filled on a Fri or Sat nite, the homebounders are anchored here in the WH. Nobody seems to go out. You will be lucky to find spots along the Septa rail tracks, otherwise behind the parking garage is your only option. Property Manager says there is plenty of parking. This is the building where running in hallways occurs which wasn't apparent a year or so ago. You will hear doors being slammed constantly on your floor as well as those above and below you not to mention the student ' get togethers ' disturbing other tenants that will never be enforced as far as noise ordinances. Not with this manager. She doesn't care about the tenants here. Have you noticed the little camper parked way in back of the garage? Evidently this is also a KOA Campground. Sure looks trashy. Oh yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. Come get a tour of the ' Luxury Apartments ' stated on the front sign if you want to live in Jenkintown -Wyncote which is an area very lacking. Go up and down Rt 611 to see the vacant businesses up above Marzano and the Drake Tavern with a ton of traffic that is growing more congested. After you leave your tour of the WH, good luck pulling out of that front driveway on Washington Lane which is a speedway deathtrap with no traffic light. If you try to turn left or right onto Township Line's exit, notice the red WH signs with the obstructed views where you can easily get clipped. The morning after Governor Wolf ordered so many closures in Montgomery County due to the spreading of Coronavirus cases effective Friday 3/13, the insensitive, uncaring and self serving Property manager ran business as usual with her remodeling crews still here grinding, hammering, and drilling within the building. Nothing will change with this individual. She gets away with murder. Her job is safe no matter what apparently. Funny thing is that she is not liked by many here due to her attitude and persona but still remains in the job, including the terminated desk staff who talked behind her back in a negative light. Here's some food for thought as far as Corona virus and management's game plan( if they have any ) in trying to deal with it here. You have many young tenants who travel here( I see students with suitcases on rollers maybe going to and coming from trains, planes ) using the elevators. Have you seen any janitorial staff members here wiping down and disinfecting elevators and its buttons,the elevator walls, or in the mail room, door entrances? I haven't. read more

This apartment was the most disgusted apartment I ever had. They gave me the apartment dirty. I complained about it. They sent a cleaning company to clean it. It took all week so I could not move in. They did a shoddy job. I complained about it. Nothing was done. The bathroom sink was always stopped up as well as the tub. The apartment was always cold even in the winter. I could not turn up the heat since the faux thermostat on the wall only displayed temperature and could not be changed. I have lived here for three years and in those three years it has been nothing but construction noises from early am to evening. It never ends. Drilling, hammering, more drilling, nonstop. No pool, no amenities at all, unless you consider bingo for seniors an amenity. Ventilation system is gross with no filtration of the air that is being piped into apartments. Basically a nursing home with Salus grad students peppered in. Overpriced with nothing to show for it. read more

0 STARS ... This apartment building should be condemned. Its old and dirty. I really regret ever moving there. I hated every minute of living there. I found out after moving in all the lies the assistant manager told me, especially about the heating/cooling situation. The utility bill issued by the Monitor Data corporation is very high. You have no way to conserve the heat/air since you dont have control of it. The thermostat in the apartment do not control the climate. They have no individual meters so its basically estimations. Its a shame how some of the staff speak to some older tenants. I could not believer how dirty and disgusting the apartment was when I moved in the first day. They often shut off the water, I dont know why I know that had to be horrific for older tenants who were shut-in. I never had an awful experience like this with an apartment. **Did not live in this building** My fiancé and I toured Wyncote House a few weeks ago with our parents and found it to be a very nice building. From what we could see, it was well-kept and the apartments were spacious. However, the employees left much to be desired. Admittedly, we walked into the building without an appointment and reluctantly asked for a last-minute tour. When we told the woman at the front desk that we wanted to move within the next 2 months, she actually laughed in our faces before going to find someone to help us. Not a very warm welcome. The woman who helped us (who told us to call her "Cookie") played a totally different part. She buttered us (and our parents) up so much that it was almost uncomfortable at times. She told us a lot of personal information, talked badly about the other apartment buildings in the area, and kept telling us that we were the "kind" of people she wanted in the building. She told us repeatedly she would "go to bat" to get us an apartment, even in our shortened time frame. Cookie took our information and promised us that someone else would be in touch with us the following Monday regarding an application. I cannot even tell you how many times this woman told us how much she liked us and wanted us to live in her building, and I must reiterate that she promised us that we would receive follow-up communication via a phone call within 48 hours. We never heard from her again. It was clear that she was all talk and that the people who operate that building have very little interest in helping young couples. I am upset that she has our information and feel that our time was absolutely wasted on our tour and in Cookie's office, where she kept us for quite an extended period of time, talking about us as if we were going to move in the next week. Over the last two to three years there has been many positive changes, from the very helpful staff, friendly security, and new lobby area and halls. I have been a resident at Wyncote House since 2016 and all I have seen are GREAT CHANGES! A great place to live. read more

I've been living here a little over a year now and the only thing i dislike is not being able to control my own heat/air. Management has worked with me and their customer service is excellent! Anything I need they take care of within a timely manner and the staff are excellent. Each month I see various improvements with the facility and overall, this is the best kept secret for affordable high-end apartment living in Cheltenham Township. The location is excellent, near transportation, shopping and entertainment. My neighbors are friendly and are mostly quiet. My daughter loves it here which is most important. We feel safe, accommodated and our balcony doesn't hurt lol. I definitely recommend living here if you are a student or have a small family. read more

I didn't have a chance to rent an apartment from Wyncote House, however, when inquiring about an apartment I found Susan to be rude, abrasive and inflexible. First impressions our lasting impressions and based off of my initial experience I wouldn't suggest anyone rent from this place. read more
