After heading into my fourth week traveling Europe and my second in Germany, I was craving…read moresomething other than spaetzle, sausages, pretzels and potatoes. I noticed a proliferation of burger restaurants in Nuremberg and Burgerista was so cute that I decided to pop inside. I'm so glad that I did! The interior is super cute and decorated with bright, cheerful wooden chairs and tables. As with most establishments in Germany, it is sleek, clean and modern. The menu is mostly in English but the workers spoke limited English, something that I found very weird. I was trying to speak German while ordering what was listed on the menu as a "Route 66 Burger with American cheese." If you're the type of traveler who expects to be catered to by assuming everyone in Europe speaks English, don't go here. You'll need some limited German (or really, really good pointing skills) to order. The employees were VERY friendly and welcoming, full of smiles in spite of a minor language barrier. In fact, they were some of the nicest people we encountered in Germany. After placing your order, you'll get a pager that beeps when it's ready. I loved that my food was cooked to order. Fresh is the best! While these burgers are nowhere near as good as ones you can get in the U.S.A., they are still high quality and tasty, even by American standards. The quality of ingredients, especially the produce, was some of the best ever. You'd never find beautiful ruby red tomatoes, crispy and cold lettuce or sweet onions like these at Fuddruckers! The meat wasn't well seasoned but it was juicy and well prepared. The only negative about this place comes from the bun. I didn't enjoy the semi-hard sesame seed bun and ended up taking most of it off my burger. I know Germany isn't known for its great bread (well, I guess they're known for that heavy rye-style bread), but these buns were pretty bad. All burgers here are unfortunately saddled with this subpar bun. I'd also take a pass on the "cheese" fries. What you get is regular fries with an overpriced side of plastic cheese. Yuck. The fries themselves were delicious and the "cheese" was an unnecessary expense. I was surprised to find that the bacon on my burger was crispy and tasty and just right. I expected chewy, undercooked bacon but it was the best part of my burger. Major positives: free wifi, made to order burgers, fresh produce, lots of condiments right on the table, fresh herb pots on the table so you can pick your own to eat, and -- wait for it -- FREE REFILLS ON SODAS AND AN ICE MACHINE! Let that sink in. **Free refills and an ice machine!** Those of you who frequently travel Europe get what's so amazing about that! I'm giving Burgerista 5 stars because of this!

Another new Burger Place? Normally I wouldn't even have checked it out, as it clearly caters…read moretowards the fast food section - however someone told me it's very similar to the legendary In-N-Out Burger! Serious blasphemy aside, I obviously had to check it out for myself. So how is it? - Very central location. - Well designed and uncluttered menu. - Amazing fries! Seriously, these chunky fries really taste good. - Surprisingly huge burgers. - Excellent soft buns, despite the size. - Oh and btw, they have bibs for grownups - perfect to stuff your beard under & not look like a total mess after eating a burger! (The hipster in me approves) I really wouldn't compare it to the In-N-Out Burgers, but compared to McD & BK it really outshines them by miles. Tip: Try the pink lemonade and definitely check out the BBQ apple sauce.

But, my partner states this place is one of the most famous Döner places in Nuremberg( a kebab wrapped with a pita like dough) so I truly did not mind not being able to sit. You also will see the line of people waiting to order, but do not worry it will go by quickly. One of the employees accidentally gave our Döner to another customer ,however, the owner who was working the cashier at the time was quick to respond to the mistake. For about 4€, you will be able to get a salty yogurt drink and a Döner!!! My s/o claims that salty yogurt is a go to drink at this Turkish fast pick me up, but I beg to differ and did not enjoy the taste. I did notice while eating outside, many also ordered the salty yogurt taste. I would definitely give this place a try. The kebab is not what we would imagine ( on a stick) instead it is placed between a pita bread folded Hot Dog style with some special sauce and lettuce of some sort. A good snack to share during a break from all the shopping!
