I'm visiting Germany for the first time, and a friend offered to take me for German food. We went to Wurst-Kuche. It was a small place on the corner of a traffic circle, and had a true German feel. The staff was friendly, and though we had a slight language barrier, she was very helpful and worked hard to help us communicate. The menu was in both German and English. The prices were good.
I got a coke, and I shared a schnitzel platter (2 schnitzel, which was why I shared) with my friend's daughter. There were no issues in asking to share. My friend ordered a salad, and her son ordered a kid's schnitzel. The schnitzels came with a side salad and fries. Sooo much food! Even my friend's salad was about 6 cups of lettuce and a variety of vegetables! The staff member brought a separate plate for us to put the second schnitzel on and even included extra fries!
While we were eating, the staff member came over to check on us, bring us ketchup and mayonnaise packets, and then brought a small bag of candy for the kids.
I truly enjoyed my meal, as did everyone else at the table. It had a rustic feel to it, but was well made.
If I'm ever lucky enough to visit this country again, I will be going there for lunch! read more
