While we were at the park a school was hosting a picnic for its students. The northern portion of the park is even more quiet and scenic, with winding trails, limestone bluffs, and creek views. It's a great area for dog walks, leisurely strolls, picnics, workouts, or just relaxing under the trees. The park is well maintained and welcoming to all ages. This park is very special.

They also have dedicated dressing/shower areas and relatively clean toilets. If you don't use a locker, you have to place everything on the sides of the pool in the grass/dirt (be sure to bring a picnic blanket if you plan to hang out there at all). The grass/dirt area is nicely shaded. No beverages apart from water is allowed by the pool. Entry fees were $5/person for Austin residents. It was an enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours.

I looked to my right and saw a weird trail that went down a steep side hill. So I followed the noise.. its pretty steep so be careful! After the brush and trees cleared THERE IT WAS! CLEAR, COOL WATER!! It was shallow when I got there and only about 8 people were there at 1pm during a Saturday. As time goes on it gets deeper and the water rises! Also more people start coming too. It feels sooooo amazing! You can grab a chair and just sit in the middle drinking and cooling off. Dog friendly! I spent a few hours with my boy before heading back. I've seen many times in basketball leagues when an injury involves blood, there's no adequate items to properly clean up blood on the courts. Literally front desk girl just gave us a roll of paper towel to clean up blood with no gloves. And she gave my team attitude for not knowing where the first aid room was and blood was gushing down my face from an open laceration. I came back after finding the first aid room to ask another question and she was upset like we were such a bother to her to even ask for help. Please retrain your staff!!!

On the banks or in the water. Now that Austin has been developed into a major city,Lady Bird Lake is activity central for a significant segment of the population. The ringing trails on both sides facilitate runners,walkers,fresh air seekers at all hours of the day and night. Likewise the flowing water of the Colorado river which feeds the " lake" holds boaters of all types. So forgive me if in my next review of the Austin area I mispeak by calling it Town Lake,but I have my entire life.
