He also made sure to note precautions he would take and would request around safety in regards to COVID-19. When I met him at the house, he was very professional, and went above and beyond while looking at potential issues. The basement had water issues which surprised both of us given it being relatively new construction, so Vince went out of his way to look for what the cause was, and found that it may have been a very simple fix (moving something that caused the sump pump to become stuck and not turn on) and helped me out with that. He also helped my figure out the best place to put a home radon test. He also pointed out positive things throughout the inspection, and I was impressed by the level of detail he showed. When the inspection was over, he had the report to me within an hour. I realize he likely can't usually do that because of a busy schedule, so I really appreciated it. Overall, I can't recommend him enough, and my real estate agent was very impressed as well. She hadn't worked with him before but thought he was very thorough and helpful as well.

I would definitely use StepByStep again!

I've used Kevin and his company multiple times. Given my career as a real estate agent, I believe it's important to have quality, professional educated businesses that you work with on a regular basis. Those that you trust. Kevin is professional, but also down to earth, easy to talk to-approachable, and early to every inspection. I have learned so much just from following along on the inspections too! Each and client is given a comprehensive overview of the inspection with digital photos. This makes it easy to re- negotiate terms if that should be the case. Top notch performance. Thanks Kevin!!!

Whether you are buying a home or simply wanted to get the current home you live in inspected, MD…read moreHome Inspections would be my top recommendation. They are very easy to schedule with and are very responsive. They perform a two person inspection and very thorough. Having two people on site usually helps the inspection go a lot quicker. They are honest with my clients and that is always the most important thing to me. I want clients to be adequately informed on the condition of a home. This company has helped so many of my clients through the inspection process and I have never had a complaint. They are always available to chat about problems or give their opinion. They also perform Radon tests. If you don't know if your home has radon, please get a radon test. It is very common in southeast Michigan.

We hired milestone inspections and were so impressed! I highly recommend Milestone. The inspector,…read moreDavid, is incredibly thorough and detailed. He explains everything in a very objective manner... he is not trying to convince you one way or the other on a home inspection. He simply is very direct, factual, and detailed. When we bought a home years ago we used a different inspector- he inspected the property very quickly, reported only one issue, and was done. We moved in to the home to find a number of things that needed repair that the inspector should have found and noted. With milestone you get a detailed report, images, notes, estimated repair costs, etc. You will know exactly what you are getting yourself into or find areas of negotiation if needed. Again I highly recommend this company!

The short version: this team of highly qualified, timely and genuinely kind professionals should be…read morecharging TRIPLE what they do. They are superheroes!! The Long Version: At both inspections, Skip, Reggie, and Justin arrived earlier than us (my partner and I were 15 minutes early) and were already ready to talk to us about the outside of the house and garage as soon as we arrived. Each gentleman is focused on a certain portion of the house, Justin on water management, foundation, walls, roof, Reggie on electrical, mechanics, plumbing, and Skip on everything else. Throughout the inspection they talked us through everything they were seeing, everything that we would see in the inspection paperwork a few days later, and recommended fixes for each issue and what might be a reasonable cost for each one. Included with our paperwork was also an intensive book of what those costs might be on average for replacing everything from tiling on the floor to pipes in the basement. The gentleman were professional and more importantly, communicative. As Justin said more than once, "Everything is fixable, just depends on what it costs." They took us through every single room in the house, pointed out things we would have missed (obviously, as we are not the professionals), and answered every question we had thoroughly and without condescension. They were equipped with every possible tool necessary and walked us through fixes we might be able to do ourselves, while steering us away from projects that are better done by professionals. Then about 36 hours later they sent us a complete, 70+ page report, WITH PICTURES that detailed everything we had talked about and the possible fixes, in detail, page by page, with its own table of contents. They set our minds at ease about the fixes that seemed scary and gave us a good idea of what a house would cost after we finally closed on it. And then they did it all AGAIN when our first offer fell through. They hid nothing from us and were honest and professional to a fault. This team is made up of professional, honest, superheroes, and if I didn't want to NEVER have to go through the process of buying a house again, I would look forward to working with these professionals many times in the future. As it stands, I would recommend NO ONE ELSE. Their flat fee for a 1400 sqft house was 350 dollars and it is the best money we spent during the house buying proces. With these inspectors, we could buy with absolute confidence! BRAVO!
