The standard minimum amenities you expect, the room was very basic and clean and met my needs for the night. ***DISCLAIMER*** I didn't actually stay here, I put my in-laws and an elderly uncle here for a week…read morebecause of my daughter's HS graduation. This place is quiet and off the beaten path. The rooms are clean and spacious. This is definitely a gem in the middle of a ton of sketchy places. It appear well maintained. They were both happy with their rooms. The breakfast is self serve but it isn't. It's behind a counter and you order what you want and they hand you the plate of food. It's the pretty standard fare.... Eggs, waffles, a meat, and the like. And there is a sand pit right out front with a fiberglass dinosaur. Fossils are the theme in the common areas as well. The pool is also a zero depth entry and is heated as well. The hot tub broke during their stay with an unknown repair date. It's fine, it happens. What peeved me the most was the common usage bathrooms were locked at 6pm. The pool is open until 10. So while hanging out and catching up, if you needed to go to the bathroom, you had to walk to a room and walk back. It's fairly easy for someone like me who is relatively young. However, for my elderly uncle (83) and my in-laws (late 70's) this was a chore. And on those lines, there is a second floor but no elevator. What is the alternative if the entire first floor is sold out but you cannot physically climb stairs? Because of it's location, I don't think selling out is a problem but you never know. I would consider a stay-cation here in the summer because it's close to home and a nice getaway. But I would definitely make sure the hot tub was working first.

The twinkling lights on the trees are really nice at night. (My Uber driver dropped me off and said "pretty" lol) The staff here was very friendly and helpful. I was in a fifth floor suite and it was really spacious, clean, bright and comfortable. It had a kitchenette with an island, dishes and spoons, dishwasher, fridge, stovetop etc, which was really a nice touch. I didn't use this in my two days here but could see how it could be really useful to travelers. There's an included breakfast every morning which was pretty decent. They have hot options like scrambled eggs, omelettes, pancakes, oatmeal, as well as the typical breads, pastries, cereals you get in a continental breakfast. I went with yogurt and fruit and granola every day which was very nice. The fruit is the typical mix you get out of a bucket, heavy on the cantaloupe and honeydew which was a tad slimy and tart. Overall though, it was super convenient to have this spread and it's really a lot nicer than a lot of other breakfasts you get at other hotels. Cozy couch. Views of the mountains in the distance. I really enjoyed my stay here. I likely will stay again because of business, but am absolutely looking forward to the next time. Big shout out to Lance who was especially pleasant and professional!

I will start this off by saying the hotel was in the middle of remodeling during my recent stay,…read moreand safe to say our room needed it. While the majority of the hotel was fine, the mattress on the bed were rather uncomfortable (I ended up on the sofa bed because of it) and there were some large and questionable stains of the blinds. Aside from that, the place was pretty decent. Nice and quiet, excellent breakfast for a hotel, and nice staff. The location is also very convenient as it's close to some good restaurants as well as larger stores such as Target and Best Buy. Pretty good for a quick two-night stay before moving on with my travels. If the remodel does address these issues, then I'd say this is safely a 4/5 or maybe even a 5/5. However based on my only experience there, I can't really give it more than a 3/5.

Days Inn Downtown Denver - Don't Make the Mistake I Did…read more Considering a room at Days Inn Downtown Denver? My story follows, but to save time, here's all you need to know: DON'T. My son & DIL were about to deliver a baby at HCA St. Luke's, so I chose the hotel at the top of the hospital's list & closest to the facility, thinking I'd walk the 7/10 mile easily. I knew the hotel was 3 stars, & read some reviews. Comments said it was clean, rooms newly redone, helpful staff. All of that is true, but looking back, all the positive reviews were by people who'd never posted before. One review read, "It was scary!" I figured it was a troll. I was wrong. Booked a room for 2 nights. When I arrived, the hotel looked pretty grim. Not the best section of town, not a great reception area, but all I needed was a clean room, a bed, WIFI, & a desk where I could work while waiting for baby. Safety hadn't crossed my mind, but 2 minutes into check-in, a man I thought had come in from the street, but later turned out to be a guest known to the staff, interrupted & demanded the clerk DO SOMETHING about the PEOPLE WHO WERE LOOKING AT HIM THROUGH THE WINDOW. I've lived & worked in Philly, & visit adult kids in D.C., Baltimore, & Denver, so the displaced population is familiar. This guy was aggressive, threatening, either on something or suffering from a mental illness. He got more & more animated, accused the clerk of not believing him, yelling that he takes video out of his window all the time & could prove that people were looking in his window & demanding that she do something. The clerk calmly asked him to bring the video so she could look. I was impressed by her, but shook. He left & she continued the check-in, but he came back, acting even more agitated, yelling that she didn't believe him, that he wasn't going through hours of video just to make her believe him. It went on & on. By the time he left again, I was wondering why there was no security. I went to my room, which was clean, with new furnishings & flooring, but the external hall to get there was dark, looked dirty, & I felt very exposed. Shaking, I called my husband, who said to cancel the next night's reservation. I was petrified to go back out, but went downstairs & told the clerk how uncomfortable & unsafe I felt. She said I was a couple of hours after the cutoff, too late to cancel. She also dismissed my concerns, said she'd worked there for 2 years & didn't feel unsafe. I admired her toughness, but it didn't make me feel any better. I felt stuck & afraid. Yelling, either from the street or from another room, didn't help. I turned on the TV, skipped eating because I didn't want to encounter the man or anyone else, & slept with the lights on. The next day, I asked them to reconsider a refund for the 2nd night because I wasn't staying, then checked out & went to another hotel a few blocks away. It felt like a different world. I got a letter from the owner citing new security & how they'd never had an incident. Said if I could prove something had happened there in the past 5 years, they'd refund for the night I didn't stay, but otherwise, no. Some of that may be true, but their door, stairs, & elevator to the guest room are NOT monitored - I left in the morning without anybody seeing me, & when I returned, I had to wait for the clerk to emerge from the back. Anyone could've walked in, & up. It's apparent that their guests acting aggressively & erratically is normal, & management thinks it's fine. Here's the bottom line. This is NOT A HOTEL FOR TOURISTS. It's a transient hotel in a tough part of town. If you're coming to Denver to see the sights, visit relatives, etc., this is NOT A PLACE WHERE YOU WILL FEEL SAFE. Management totally disregards concerns about safety. Wyndham should be ashamed of having this property associated with its brand. Don't make the mistake I did. There are plenty of fine hotels in town that don't cost a ton of money. Pick another place.

The front desk has no customer service training and there is no help whatsoever with luggage. It is in a busy area of Denver. They repeatedly blocked off stairs, a fire hazard.
