They showed no compassion for everything it took you to trek across town in dreary rainy conditions with all of our health challenges and simply have no problem telling us you have arrived late you will need to make another appointment we cannot see you today. I explained our situation to them and they did not have any empathy for our challenges. All we got from the neurologist (doctor) , medical assistant and the front desk attendant were sorry that's our policy. As many times as we patiently sat waiting beyond our appointment time to be called back to be seen by this same medical staff we never once saw a sign warning us of this policy. I am disgusted by these apparent health care professionals.

Came bright and early to get a required rapid test for an upcoming flight…read more New requirement for PR as of December 22nd, even if we are vaccinated and have our QR code to travel as well. Rather an inconvenience. And the at home kits won't do since there needs to be proof of when the test was completed and with a patient name as well. This clinic is walkable and not far from us. We called around and researched out places. Since vaccinated we had the option of the PCR or the rapid test as proof of a negative test results. Arrived by 8:04am. Long lines, we had to enter in the back of the clinic too. About 25 or so folks in front of us this morning minutes after 8am. One lady shouted to us and wanted us to keep the door open, saying if we don't have covid, we will in this confined hallway. I said we can't hold the door open. She said this standing in the hallway is a bad setup for sure. She walked out. One less person in line now. There is a line more of folks inside for covid tests and for other tests as well. One lady left saying she's waited for a half hour and the hallway. No problem if patients patience wanes while we wait here in the hallway. First person inside by 8:18am, took 18 minutes for progress, one person went inside. A few of us are crouched down since it's been a half hour in now. One lady called out to us folks waiting in the hallway if anyone of us did a virtual, a save my spot, has chest pain or any urgent care required. There are now about 13-15 folks after a half hour ahead of us in the hallway now. No one has moved and it's been a half hour and it's well after 9am. We are 5th from the hallway door to go inside the lobby by 9:16am. Only 3 chairs in the lobby area after the long 9:47 wait in the hallway to get in the main door area. The system here is not organized or structured at all. They could get our cell phone and text us when we can come inside the main lobby area instead of making us all wait for hours for required negative test result to travel. But they don't seem to have the appropriate staff to be able to manage that kind of convenience here at all. Now into our 3rd hour as we wait to get inside the 3rd waiting area. Haven't moved into the 3rd waiting area and have been in the interior waiting area for over an hour now. Unreal. Inside the line for check-in now by 10:45am. Checked in and waiting again to get the test just short of 3 hours now. There are 16 chairs on the inside waiting area of the urgent care as we wait for our test now. Once inside there are random squid pictures since the old superior fish ship that used to be here is where all of the squids for the Red Wings squids during the games came from this store. After our group the staff are now letting in more folks that the 9 of us already waiting in the waiting to get our test after registration and check-in. Called us in for our test by 11:15am. Out by 11:45am after Maria checked for any symptoms and if we wanted to check anything else. We said no. It was a 3:40 minute wait and trip to get a covid test this morning. 5 staff in the back. 2 in the front to check patients in. The covid test is $155 without insurance here.

All the staff was very friendly and I was impressed with Dr Kahrs who took her time listening, running diagnostics, x Ray images and then diagnosis (broken ankle) with recommendations. Our prescriptions were promptly sent over to the pharmacy and notes were given for follow up care. Overall I felt just as comfortable as if I visiting my family doctor after hours, rather than the stress of an ER and have recommended them to multiple friends during flu season.

It is a great feeling to declutter by finding a home for them. The staff are very pleasant and were nice to mail me a donation letter for my records. Note that the office hours are Monday - Friday 9am-2pm.

The nurse practitioner Victoria…read moreBalcom ripped the old IUD which lead to the injury of Muscle Fasciitis that after almost a year of sever pain was diagnosed on September 27th 2023. The nurse also ignored me when I called back expressing problems of bad bleeding and sever pain that caused me to lose consciousness and a high fever on more the one occasion. She also placed my new IUD in wrong. After I had the new IUD put in I blead very heavily for about 3 1/2 weeks and the pain got worse, bleeding through super plus tampons and pads. She convinced me the pain and bleeding was normal even though I did not experience this when I had it in the first 10 years. On and off I had signs of infection random fever and chills, sever pain in the abdomen, shortness of breath, nousea, fast heartbeat, & frequent UTI's that is not common for me. 8 months later I got pregnant with the new IUD in and lost the baby which lead to a miscarriage that required termination that had also tramatized my body and my period blood become as thin as water where I had to wear diapers and the consistent pain was the debilitating to a point where on November 22nd 2024 I had to have a hysterectomy. Going here caued trauma and physical issues and because of the malpractice and poor after care lost my uterus. Between the violent removal of the IUD, poor after care, physical injury, and on top of that the loss of work due to physical injury and no justice for it. Protect yourself DON'T GO TO THE FERNDALE PANNED PARENTHOOD. Go to the Ann Arbor Planned Parenthood on Professional Drive instead, they actually care and will take care of you. After my hysterectomy the pain I had for 2 years went away and obviously I no longer bleed. My mental health, and PTSD is a work in progress to fix.

I scheduled a visit to get vaccines that I needed to travel out of the country - when I came for that appointment, I met with the NP (who is lovely - I can't say enough good things about her) and she agreed that I did need the vaccines that I had requested -- so, she asked the office staff to order the vaccines and I would have to come back for them at another time. (Why wasn't I told this was going to be the practice? When I made a similar call to my old PCP across the state, they had the vaccines during my first visit.) I came to a scheduled appointment 5 minutes early (it should have been a quick visit) and 45 minutes AFTER my scheduled appointment, when I checked with the receptionist, she told me it would be "just a few more minutes" without any idea of how long it would be or any explanation what so ever. I understand HIPAA prevents her from telling me what the hold up was - but some apology for running SO late or an idea of how much longer it would have been would have been nice. I really can't adequately convey how awful this place actually is. Don't waste your time or your money. I was so disappointed in my experiences with ZMC that I called and left a message for the practice manager (two weeks ago) and he never so much as returned my call. It is clear to me that even the manager doesn't value patients. The only saving grace is that the NP is delightful - she's quick and has good bedside manner. She includes you as a part of the medical team. I wish the rest of the practice would step up.

Dr. Chwierut is a D.O., not an M.D. Doctors of Osteopathy get different training than an M.D. They learn to consider a person's entire body and mental health picture when making medical decisions, not only the body part that hurts or is full of snot. Dr. Chwierut's status as a D.O. is why I chose him. Dr. Chwierut's no-nonsense, frank attitude is why I kept him. He will tell you whatever he is thinking. And I like that. And he's funny. I feel like whenever I go in for a visit, he listens carefully to what I have to say and offers solutions to whatever issue has brought me in. Also, when I need an appointment, I can get one. I just call up the super friendly nurse/receptionist and she knows me as soon as I say my name and can often get me in on the same day. (Just to be clear, I am not there all of the time, just once or twice per year on average.) So, yeah, the fact that Chwierut apparently told another reviewer that he did not think that she would "spread her legs for anybody" totally sounds like something he would say. If you dig honesty like that, this is your man. And, as I insisted on information, he kept talking (on and on) about how "some girls will lay down for anybody." But I didn't seem like the sort of girl who would do something like that. --Heart palpitations? Well of course you're going to get them if you drink things like alcohol and coffee.
