I brought it in 2-years after the paint job was done and was advised that, even though we had a Lifetime Warranty, they charged 25% of the price after 2 years, which verbally was $500. I wasn't aware of this. Since the contract says that after 2-years its 25% and 10% more every year after that we decided to hold off and bring it in closer to the 3-year anniversary of the paint job.
On 6/12/2026, I called to schedule an appointment to have my vehicle painted. I explained I had the Lifetime Warranty. Even though I reiterated multiple times I wanted to schedule an appointment to drop it off, I was just told to bring it in. I said I would drop it off on 6/19.
On 6/19, I brought the van in and was ready to drop it off, but was told I couldn't as it had to be inspected and approval needed to be received first to paint it under warranty. Would have been nice to know when I called a week prior.
A couple of hours later I got a call back and was advised that it was approved, but the total cost would be just over $900. They decided that since it was close to 3-years they would just round up and charge me 35%. I reiterated the contract clearly states 25% after 2-years and an additional 10% every year after that. Thus, I asked them to reduce it to 25%. They finally relented and lowered it to 25%, but then said they would charge me the vehicle fee of $500 for it being a van, so the price was still practically the same price as the 35%.
I went back to the contract and said that my price should be 25% of the original price of $2,100 (including tax) and that can't just start arbitrarily add in additional fees, especially if you consider that they didn't add the $500 van fee until I insisted on 25% be charged, per the contract. The lady decided that the interpretation of the contract is that it is 25% of the cost of the painting package. Which I disagreed with as it clearly states 25% of the original price. There was a lot of going back and forth and I eventually asked to speak with the supervisor.
I finally got a call back from the supervisor, 5 days later on 6/23. I tried to explain everything, but things started to go sideways as the manager was very combative. It started with the manager arguing that 2023 - 2026 is 3 years, which I agreed with based on years alone, but I said that I signed the contract/got it painted on 6/27/23 and brought it back on 6/19/2026 to be repainted under warranty. While it's close to 3 years, it has not been 3 years yet and reiterated what the contract stated verbatim. The combative conservation continued and went nowhere.
We were blamed for not properly taking care of the car by waxing every 3 months and was given some explanation that the paint on the side mirrors will peel off no matter what due to the material they are made of. In the end, I said that if they don't want to do the paint job under warranty and want to charge me unreasonable fees and disregard the contract, then fine, I will leave a review and be done with it. Managers response was to say that I am leaving a bad review just because I'm not getting what I want and went on to explain that "reasonable" customers are ok with them prorating the amount.
Obviously I will never use them again, not only due to the quality of the paint job overall, but the very lackluster customer service.
