I requested a quote through Yelp and received a response back within a few hours. While I was waiting for their quote, I contacted a few other companies. Color Mate came back to me with one of the lowest quotes. I picked Color Mate over the other company due to their reviews on both Google and Yelp. My appointment was scheduled for this morning, at my home (as they're a mobile service). They arrived about 30 minutes late. Before he was able to get the work done, I had to contact VW for the color code. The exact paint color was created in his work van. I'm not sure how he got my SUV to look brand new, but he did. I highly do not recommend this place if you're searching for help. On their page they say they fix dents, they fix this and they fix that but when I show them pictures of the minor damages that are on my car, automatically I get threatened to get reported. I have had Color Mate bookmarked for several months since I had a lease I had to return back in April but unfortunately I decided to not use them and got charged a fee from my dealership for the minor scratches -_- Fast forward to this week. On Monday, someone pointed out a my backseat passenger door had either been hit by a door (who opens their door this hard!) or a rock that completely took the paint off to the metal. I have only had my new car for 3 months so immediately I started getting quotes. Audi said $450 but "it will look like a bandage" (is this how they sell their services?? LOL). BMW said $1,000. I must thank Sean M. For reviewing and recommending ColorMate. They were everything Sean said they would be! I only have myself to blame for the deep scratches and nicks on my front bumper. I accidentally scraped a pole in very tight parking lot in Miami. Hate when that happens! I called ColorMate and was told I could text some pictures of the damage. Robert texted back the estimate and then we texted back & forth to find a good day and time for us both. I was quoted $225 for the original job which seemed quite reasonable. Before Mike the technician got here, however, I decided that my back bumper, which had a few scratches when I bought it, needed some freshening as well. The total job for both bumpers including a 10% Yelp discount (yes!) and tax was $381.60. Most important however, is that Mike did such a fantastic job! You really cannot tell anything happened to either bumper! The job did take about 4 1/2 hours but it was time well spent. Besides, Color Mate comes to you at home and you don't have to worry about getting your car back & forth from the shop or when it will be ready. I was lucky my husband could work at home today but ColorMate does do Saturday appointments. First time reviewing a body shop but this was different. They come to you. I stumbled upon this company from reading Sean's nice review. I curbed one of my wheels and also had a scratch on the back bumper courtesy of a very bad douche bag Miami driver. Yes...the driver saw me, just took off & didn't bother to apologize. I called and Robert picked up. Sent him pics of the scratches and gave me a quote of $360. I scheduled an appointment 2 weeks from the day I called but Robert called the following week to see if I wanted to get the job done earlier. I kept the appointment the same. I live in a condo so he asked me if my garage had an electric outlet which did not. Luckily they have a remote location in South Miami close to my job. I dropped off my car at 9am, then came the technician, called me around 1 or 2 to let me know that my car was ready. I was pretty impressed how fast it got done. Trust, I consulted about 3 body shops before I started researching Yelp and all said that I have to leave my car for 2-3 days and quoted me much more than ColorMate. The job itself was decent. The finish on the wheel was a little off but the big scrapes gone and now smooth like new! Scratch on bumper was filled, buffed and color matched as closely as possible to factory specs. I'm just glad that they didn't have to paint the entire bumper. Overall, I am happy with the service and highly recommend to anyone who is meticulous with their cars. So, my car wasn't even 6 months old when an ex-girlfriend of mine decided to come to my house overnight and leave some love stains all over the hood of my car. I rarely write a bad review but I think everyone should know about the experience I had with this company - since I rely on yelp a lot and this is one time where is really failed me. I had a small dent in my rear bumper and given the reviews here, decide to give ColorMate a try. They came to my apartment at the time...great. They seemed knowledgeable and nice on the phone...great. Once they arrived the guy told me that the $275 I was quoted online wasn't correct and they needed to order "special paint" and the job would cost almost $500. I tried to argue this but Since they were there already there I said fine. The major reason why I have in was because they said their work was guaranteed. WRONG. They fixed the bumper everything looked fine and about a month later...I notice that the paint started to come off. Now, I called up the company and had many conversations with them, sending pictures back and forth etc. they basically told me that it wasn't the paint coming off and someone scratched my bumper again. There is no way this could happen. What are the chances that I get marks on the exact same spot as where they fixed it?? I proceeded to ask them to please come take a closer look. They said no, and insisted that it would be $400 to fix the "scratch". Long story short- I will never use these guys again. They are dishonest and over priced. Also/ I even said I would pay their cost to have someone come fix their mistake, they would not budge.. Lastly- AMEX even agreed and credited my card back the cost. When some genius rear ended me a few years ago, I really didn't want to go to a body shop and rent a car waiting for my car to be fixed. So checked yelp and found Colormate, a company that does minor body work and paint work at your location. At that time they had a few reviews and they were all 5 stars, so I decided to take the dive and try them out. I was wowed when they fixed my car, they were prompt, efficient, and the work was impeccable, but that all changed when I called them about 6 months ago. I don't know the name of the owner, so I'll call him Francis. Each time I've called Colormate, Francis is the one who answered the phone or replied to the text messages. So one unfortunate day I backed into a hidden pole and put a couple of deep scratches on the back side of my car. I called Colormate, then messaged the photos to Francis and he sent out the same tech I had used before Phillip. But this time when Phillip arrived he quoted me a price that was well beyond what I paid a couple of years ago, even though there was less damage to fix. I asked him about the price and he just said that's the price with a take it or leave it kind of attitude. So I told him not to do the bodywork and to just paint over the scratches. The work seemed excellent as usual, though much more expensive. But a few weeks later I had my car on a lift at my mechanic, and I noticed the paint job Colormate did was flawed, there was discoloration. I called Colormate and Francis answered the phone and sent Phillip back out to inspect the work, after inspecting he redid the job. I waited 2 weeks and called Colormate again. Francis answered the phone and said he forgot and that he was on vacation the last two weeks, but said he would come over to inspect the paint job in about 40 minutes. I found it suspicious that he didn't send Phillip as before. This is where the Entertainment starts. Francis pops up to my house and I point to him the the cracked paint, dude didn't even look at it. He looked at me with a straight face and said these exact words," We didn't do work on that part of your car". I looked at him shocked, and he repeated it again, that Colormate DID NOT do any work on my car lol. I was like what? Wait a minute, you are the one who sent Phillip out to do the paint job when I called 6 months ago. Not only that when the job was not done properly, it was you Francis who sent out Phillip to redo the job. Now all of a sudden Colormate never did work on my car lol. I was thinking to myself, this dude Francis must think I'm DeVry grad or something, like i'm some kind of imbecile. So this dude thinks by telling me Colormate didn't do any work on my car, somehow I forgot I had to waste two Saturdays waiting and watching Phillip paint my car??? What does he think he is a Jedi doing some kind of Jedi mind trick. Now if this dude said, oh we don't remember doing the work or something to that matter, it wouldn't have been so scoundrel like and unprofessional. Francis did say if I could find the receipt, " he would fix the problem", but at that time I had no interest of Colormate with its inflated prices and substandard work, especially with a owner who disavows his own work, ever touching my car again. I'm like this dude is insane, but it gets better. A few days later this is what Francis texted me : --"Sean, I'm following up with you on the paint repair. Did you find the credit card Charges in your account from ColorMate? By the way some unprofessional person named Roc Mac, left us a bogus bad review after my conversation with you on Saturday. Not sure if it's one of your friends, but tell them that's not cool and very low class. We are professionals and I've been after you everyday, to provide proof that we repaired the Quarter panel on your vehicle."-- So now Francis is harassing me with texts accusing me of writing bad reviews obviously written by his other dissatisfied customers, which indicates Colormate is having serious issues with its customers. Francis also called me and left and left me a few messages. I decided to block Francis/Colormates phone number. I then said to myself, oh gosh, now I'm probably going to have file a police report for Harassment. Don't just go by the star ratings of a business, always read the recent reviews and especially the filtered reviews. If you follow this protocol you will notice Colormates filtered and removed views elucidate similar experiences as mine. My advice is to use another mobile body shop, there are a few with excellent reviews on yelp. read more

While browsing friends posts on facebook I saw my friend and sun sentinel writer Rod Hagwood Stafford's car being worked on. He had a dent and had a man pulling it out. The dent dirty minded peeps..the dent! I contacted Rod and asked who that was and he referred Robert from Color Mate to remove two small dings I had on both doors of my 2017 SUV The Highway Star. I bought the Rav 4 in South Carolina and have had it for 2 years. I dented both doors and hated seeing those little pings on them so I called Robert! We scheduled for saturday and Robert showed up and went straight to work bending and hammering out the two dents I had. I asked what was worse fixing the small dents or the huge ones. Robert answered the huge ones. The process of bending the metal and using the "tap downs' (small plastic pins that tap out the dent making it smooth once it was bent out) worked and I am so happy I saw Rods post (he had big dents!) and that he referred Robert. I got a great job for a decent price, I dont have any more dings or dents in either door anymore and I am a happy satisfied customer! BEST PART Robert comes out to your home to do the work. Thats perfect for me because I cant go out in the daytime due to my fathers illness and having Robert come to my house and pop out my two dents I was elated and dent free!
