I called today to ask if this office accepts Medi-Cal as a general dentistry provider. I later found out that being listed under "General Practitioner" in the Medi-Cal directory doesn't actually mean general dentistry -- but instead of the person answering the phone taking a few seconds to explain that, she was rude to me. When I asked a follow-up question, she just hung up on me. I wasn't asking anything unreasonable, just trying to figure out if I could get care here. A little patience and professionalism on the phone goes a long way, especially for patients trying to sort out insurance coverage. read more

Dr. Wu, Dr. Burnstien, Dr. Held, Leslie, Laura, Anna, Alexa, Isabelle, Jalissa, and the rest of the team are all awesome, and have great communication, as well as positive energy! Thank you all so much for providing us with great customer service! Dr. Jen, Imelda, the front office staff, Evelyn & supporting staff are amazing! They took the time to make sure we were comfortable, and had a full understanding of the treatment process. All of the staff are extremely knowledgeable & very friendly! I have been working with the team at WOW smiles Monterey since 2020 for my orthopedic care. I have seen great progress in my smile and have had doctors who are willing to go the extra mile to help me achieve the goal I want. Anytime I have had a concern Donna has been extremely quick at resolving it. My little one will need to start orthodontic care in the near future and I will be bringing her to this office as well. My sister was also a previous patient. I recommend checking out WOW smiles! read more

We are not happy with the Monterey office, so we are going to try out the Salinas office and hope to have a better experience. The staff in Monterey are not the nicest people. We miss Dr. Auger and his staff. They were always very nice and very welcoming. read more

I was originally a patient of Dr. Auger who was an amazing orthodontist. I loved the atmosphere of his office and his staff members were always so helpful and welcoming. Unfortunately, this place has gone down since he left. I did Invisalign treatment with them in 2019 and my was told my insurance would be covering a portion while I paid the rest. Today, in 2023, I received a call from their office saying my credit card on file was declined. I asked, "for what? What were you charging my card for?". They said it was for my Invisalign treatment in 2019 which I thought was long paid for. I asked for some evidence of some sort and they sent me a general ledger with the insurance paying as agreed until July 2019. Your GL doesn't show me that you neglected to bill the insurance when you were supposed to! They're just now calling me and charging my card without notifying me and telling me my insurance never paid the remainder of the balance after 4 years! This place is shady! Beware!!!Good thing I've canceled that credit card already.. read more

This place is a joke. My permanent lower retainer fell off after 25 years. I called here because they are in-network with my insurance. They told me I can't get it repaired there because I'm not a patient. I told them I want to become a patient. I was told I need to go to my original ortho from 2+ decades ago. Unreal. read more

My second appointment today with Dr Ding. I miss Dr Auger since he's been my MD since I started my braces. Dr Auger always friendly and smiles. Greet you every time. He's very approachable. Dr Ding she's good and maybe she's not talkative she's also good! I really hope though that as she gets comfortable and knows her patients she's open up a little. That's just me, my opinion! I had Daniel today who helped and he's one of the best. I've been going there for 3 years now and he's awesome and gentle! Kudos to him! Thank you for the exceeding expectations! read more

BEWARE! This place is joke...This is no longer Dr Augers practice and he no longer works here. We are stuck at this practice as my sons ortho treatment is paid off and both insurance payments have been taken out. We started treatment with Dr Auger and never knew he was selling his practice. All Dr Augers staff with the exception of maybe 2 employees have left since Wow Smiles took over. Since the new company took over, speaking with the new staff and the new Dr is always argumentative when an issue is brought up and can never transfer me to the office manager. There have been appointments scheduled without our knowledge and once even in Soledad...Why would we go to an appointment in Soledad? My sons bracket/wire has broke off or came loose multiple times and when speaking with the Dr, she doesn't take responsibility for their poor craftsmanship. The last time I took my son in to get his bracket fixed, the girl working on my son finished re-attaching the bracket and when showing my son how to put his bands on, the same bracket comes off and my son had to spit it out. Last appointment we were told to put the bands on the sides during the day and the bands in front when he sleeps. Today during our visit, the Dr said he should have always been wearing his side bands even when he sleeps. She said there must have been a confusion but I told her I was there when the directions were given and the girl did not say to wear them together. Watch out for their hygiene practices, my wife had to call out one of the girls to change her gloves during one of her visits for Invisalign and I had to also ask one of the girls to change her gloves as they type on the keyboard and use the mouse with their bare hands and other dental assistants come and type on the same keyboard then they put gloves on and go back and forth from the keyboard to my sons mouth. Everyone I know who was a patient of Dr Augers that are in the same situation feels the same way. Go ask someone about the old Dr Augers Ortho and they will tell you.. I hear alot of the staff and some patients went to Dr Cassady. I will be contacting my insurance and doing some research to see what I can do to either get some sort of credit or partial refunds back as this entire treatment is paid off. Last visit, the dentist told me looks like another year of treatment, today she told me 2 months.... You've been warned... read more

This place has gone down a lot since Dr. Auger left. The front staff are not rude and need more costumer service training. However, the medical assistant I will say are nice. The wait is so bad, it use to be only 5-15 max, the last few times I've gone in its 15-20 plus minutes. I don't think I'll ever come back after my treatments done. read more

Oof. I was a patient of Dr.Auger's and loved him and his whole office. One day I showed up and found out everything had been sold to WOW smiles and Dr.Auger had retired. I was skeptical as I had a very complicated situation with my teeth. The new regime seemed to barely care about my situation and even said they were unable to remove a piece of hardware in my mouth, identical to something that Dr.Auger had removed a few months prior. Then they recommended I visit my former orthodontist who installed the device, in Georgia... on top of that, they seemed to care only about the fees I owed from the unsatisfactory care I received. I decided to end treatment because I was so dissatisfied. Can't say enough how much I do not recommend this practice. Wish I had a different experience, but alas... read more

Totally lacking customer service. First time patient. 1 o'clock appointment and door was locked. Receptionist eventually opened door and lacked any social skills. After 30 minutes of sitting in waiting room with no other patients I left. If I could give no stars I would. read more

Dr. Auger and his team were great! we had a referral from our regular dentist and were very pleased. The level of service under this new management is below average. The front of the house staff act's like they are doing people a favor when checking in, the waiting time can be over an hour, it was never like that under Dr. Auger. I tried to log in to our account but the website is not working. Last visit for my doughtier according to the new doctor said it was going to be virtual, but we never got it. The billing department continues to over charged our visa in file. read more

The new WOW Smiles that took over Dr. Auger's practice is a mess! It feels like they are pushing patients slowly through an assembly line. Dr. Auger's office was a fun place with incredibly helpful and kind staff. Most of that staff is gone and it has been turned into a cold, unfriendly place. While sitting in the waiting room for an hour, a girl at the desk YELLED covid screening questions to each patient who arrived outside the door, then told them to wait outside in the cold. One woman waited over an hour for some paperwork and finally left without it. It was very unorganized and they obviously could not handle all of the patients who were scheduled. I never waited more than a few minutes when it was Dr. Auger's office. It is very disappointing that he left his patients in this situation. I feel stuck there since we're 6 months into braces with a payment plan. I do not recommend WOW Smiles. read more

Very clean and welcoming. Someone always is available to answer questions over the phone. Very good with my teenager.

Auger Smiles has amazing staff, from the minute you walk in you are greeted by their friendly reception ladies. I was so nervous because I wasn't sure what to expect all I knew was that orthodontics isn't cheap... I honestly couldn't believe that I got to choose a comfortable monthly payment.. I was expecting to pay a lot more for my braces. I highly recommend this office. They are very efficient and don't waist your time... I came in for a consultation and left with braces on! It's that easy :) read more
