I 1st had their Gluten Free Very Berry cheese cake when I stayed at the Sawridge in Edmonton (see that review). It was so good I went back to the lounge to have another peice when a friend joined me for drinks. Anyway it was so good that I asked the staff where it came from because it did NOT taste like other commercially produced GF crap. We had a surprise party for my mom's birthday yesterday and I purchased 2 cakes from them on Friday. 1 GF Very Berry Cheesecake and the Chocolate Caramel cake for the gluten eaters. They both came presliced with parchment paper between each slice so it made for super easy serving. The cake had 16 portions and the cheesecake had 14. They are in super sturdy cardboard boxes so I never felt once that these cakes would get squashed at anytime. They come frozen but I was told to let them thaw for 2 hours before serving for a whole cake 45 for a slice. I was told if left frozen the cakes would last 10 months in the freezer. Anyway all the guests devoured the cakes. Even though there were only 2 Celiacs the gluten eaters couldn't resist the beautiful cheesecake. I'm not sure if anyone but myself and my aunt knew the cheesecake was GF. I will DEFINITELY BE buying all my birthday/anniversary cakes from them from now on. I didn't feel like I was being left out of the gluten party. read more

WOW! This place is such a delightful hidden gem! They have been around for quite a few years, 20 some I think I was told, and cater for businesses mostly it sounds like but they do offer to walk in's as well. Sounds like their cakes should be ordered before you just stop in. Their cakes are made in house and I would love to check out and get a tour of their facility one day. And their front staff were super lovely and friendly. Plus a bonus is they have their own parking and lots of it! I stopped in for their open house and they had a delicious display and samples available. That sold me on purchasing some of their tasty morsels! Who could resist a festive rum & eggnog cheesecake? They have some super open house special deals so if you need a dessert hit this place up! I got the thrifty cakes, which are the imperfect ones knocked back in price- they taste amazing so I don't mind what they look like! Sampled the carrot cake, which I had heard some raving reviews about, and hot dang they got a good carrot cake! Shredded coconut, pineapple, cream cheese icing! Super drool! I picked up the festive candy cane mouse for my GF friend, which was super lovely to hear that some of their most popular items are gluten free. Not so much available options for the diary intolerant people so be wary of that! But skimming through their book they have some really neat cakes and presentation- like a baklava cake, or the Mayan pyramid cake! Enjoy a sweet treat from Wow! We've ordered from here several times for large work events. The desserts are always fabulous and go over super well. The staff is friendly and can help with advice if you have a large crowd to feed. If you need one or twenty cakes I definitely recommend this place, just remember everything is frozen so make sure you give yourself time to let it thaw out. I was introduced to this place after I interrogated my coworker about where she got this amazing cake while at a staff party. That was almost 10 years ago and based on how I was impacted by this sliced piece of perfection, I wanted a cake for my Birthday. My wife got this giant 4 layer chocolate cake that took me to a special place of pure bliss. I would give it a perfect score but there were a few notes to be aware: 1. Hours of operation are really limited where they are closed on the weekends and outside work hours, making it hard to access. 2. Cakes come frozen, so you have to give at least 4 hours to thaw to be ready to serve. 3. Service was reasonable but not exceptional. It was like they didn't feel the need to entice our business and did bare minimum. 4. Cakes were enormous, one standard size, and intended for large gatherings so cakes are not customized for personal preference. All that being said, the cake was amazing. One of the best cakes I've ever had and it was pre-made and frozen. The $50 cake seemed expensive but the cake was enormous, the taste was exceptional and we were able to re-freeze a large portion for future times when I need my chocolate cake fix. read more

A lovley shope in the industrial neoghbourhood of Sherwood park. I have been following their social media sites and a free cheesecake offer poped up one day. Who could resist! They have a nice clean little area and aell a variety of cheesecakes, cakes and all types of other desserts. They also have a good assortment of gluten free items as well. They are a Canadian company and use home grown ingredients. The cheese cake I took home was really good. Rich and creamy exactly how a cheesecake should be. Our office has brought in Wow Factor cakes several times and everyone here agrees that it's the best cake they've ever tasted - no matter which one we order. It's moist, it's dense and it tastes so incredibly fresh. So today I decided that I'm ordering all my family's future birthday cakes from these guys. I phoned them up and they were super helpful. They mostly sell their cakes commercially, however they have a retail outlet that is open from 9 - 5 pm for anyone to purchase from. A co-worker of mine was recently raving about the cakes and desserts he obtained from a place called Wow Factor Desserts in Sherwood Park. I have a major sweet tooth, so I simply had to head down there and check it out myself. Wow Factor Desserts, is in fact a large factory that produces dozens upon dozens of desserts for high end restaurants in the Edmonton area, desserts for special big-wig events and they also have a retail section at the factory where you can go and purchase individual desserts by themselves. Just because it is a dessert factory doesn't mean the product is mediocre by any stretch. On the contrary, the taste and quality here is leaps and bounds ahead of any desserts I've ever tried elsewhere. Here's some mini reviews of some of the desserts I've tried: Triple Chocolate Cake: A rich, moist chocaholics dream come true. Two layers of cake separated by delicious icing. Sweet, but not over powering. (They also have a chocolate cake here that is SEVEN layers thick and about SIX inches high!) Apple Pie: Can you believe an apple pie that is TWO inches thick? And this monster is as tasty as it is big. Carrot Cake: Good gawd almighty! This is the best cake of any kind I've ever had in my life. A rich, moist and delicious cake covered in the most amazing icing. At 600 calories a slice, you can kiss your diet goodbye. Boy, oh, boy this dessert is straight from heaven. All their desserts are sold in a frozen state in large boxes. Most are 12" across. All the cakes and desserts are already pre-cut and the slices are separated with wax paper, which is super convenient and avoids messes. They also have a large selection of cheese cakes if that's your thing. Be warned though. These desserts are not cheap. Were talking $30-$40 a dessert here. But you pay for what you get, and these are high-end desserts. But hey, you only live once. Why not treat yourself to something truly good every once in a while? Wow Factor is an apt name for this place. I can guarantee you'll be saying "Wow!" after you try their outstanding desserts. If you have a sweet tooth and haven't tried Wow Factor Desserts yet, I suggest you get your ass down to Sherwood Park and check'em out pronto. read more

I have to say, that although I have only tried one of Wow Factor Desserts, the Chocolate Coffee Chunk Cheesecake, it was by far the most amazing taste I've ever had. The texture was so smooth and melt in your mouth and a BURST of wonderfulness. I HIGHLY recommend anyone and everyone to go and try their product. If their Chocolate Coffee Chunk Cheesecake was that Amazing I could only imagine what their other product is like! And to boot, they are such Wonderful people that Truly know what customer Service is all about. I Guarantee you will NOT have a Disappointing experience! read more
