Today we ordered an assortment of donuts (vanilla dipped, maple flavoured, chocolate dipped, glazed - to name a few), sausage rolls, blueberry turnovers and hot dog buns. Pre-ordered some hamburger buns for a backyard BBQ. They were ready at 8AM but we picked up at 2PM and that was no problem for them. Whole wheat and white available. Unfortunately we had ordered 4 dozen buns but then said "wait no I need 2 dozen brown and 2 dozen white" and we ended up with 8 dozen buns. CONFIRM YOUR ORDER. Buns were great. Super soft and fresh. Great selection of donuts. Also they have lots of cakes and bread ready to go. You are able to pre-order cakes and they have a great selection of cakes to order. They also do cookies and carry other Dutch products. The one thing definitely about this place is it is nut free. If you have a nut allergy no worries here they do not except outside food and will ask you to leave if you bring in outside food. Also their donuts are still under eight dollars for six but you have to get there early to get the good ones read more

Grandin Bakery located across from Target & in same parking lot as Safeway (previously located in Grandin) is a fabulous local bakery! My kiddos love coming in here and picking out a special cookie or treat! They have a phenomenal array of themed cupcakes if you are looking for a birthday treat and do custom orders as well. This past summer, I placed a order for 250 top cut buns for a charity Cookoff (as recommended by D'arcy's Meats) & they were fabulous! They even let me borrow the bingos to transport the 250 buns! My daughter's preschool always requested baked treats from Grandin Bakery because they are also a trusted source to do but free baking! If you haven't checked then out, you need to stop in! I like Grandin bakery. They have good cakes. I can't eat a lot of their stuff but what I have eaten was good.

Been going here for a few years now. It's not a 5/5 and I can explain why. Their donuts 5/5 all day every day. Rest of the pastries and cookies 3/5. Same goes with the breads and other products (grocery). So if you want the best donuts in St. Albert at the best price point this is where you go. * be advised though if you're not their prior to 1 hour after open each day they will be sold out. read more

What an amazing place. Fresh, super delicious and full of flavour donuts. Nothing fancy and not as huge, if this is what you know as donuts. Totally worth the drive to St Albert. UPDATE!! I figured I should come back and update this once I actually tried the goodies, and the quality of the food has absolutely bumped them up to 5 stars. I wasn't a fan of their snickerdoodles... but that's a matter of personal taste and not their fault. The sausage rolls were delicious. I had beef and my mom had pork... we were both very happy. My new favourite thing in the world though..... is the mini mocha cake. I almost cried it was so good. My family is now very aware that that is the only cake that I'm interested in having for any occassions haha read more

I remember when this bakery actually was in Grandin Mall. Considering the store has been around about as long as I have, it's no surprise that I'd have such a memory. Now they're by the Crown & Tower and still doing rather well. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was to the left there was shelving stocked with imported Dutch foods and treats. Most of the displays were filled with pastries, cookies, cakes and pies. Behind the counter were bread and buns. I checked out some muffins but discovered they contain soy and was rather disappointed. So I looked for sausage rolls. Another disappointment because they didn't have any, only "veggie" rolls that looked the same but likely contained soy. read more

Popped in to grab some treats while in the area, and was pleasantly surprised to see it wasn't busy and there were still lots of goodies left. I've tried their pies and have been happy. Flaky shells, delicious fillings and pretty decent prices. I would pass on their cookies since I think there are better ones out there, but that's because I like my cookies soft and chewy and these lean towards the crunchy, cakier side. Donuts are a good option, as are the vanilla squares. Service is always friendly. Today they had a couple of young looking teens working out front and they were very pleasant. My friend is always raving about this bakery so when I needed a cake for my son's party I thought I'd give them a try. There is lots of parking out front bit the parking lot is busy. Staff were super friendly. My son wanted a Terraria themed caked. They had never made one before but we're happy to give it a try. I gave them free raign with the decorations other then that. The cake was light and fluffy with 3 layers. Unfortunately the icing was wayyyyy to sweet. One kids said he never says no to cake and had to through 3/4 of his piece in the garbage. The cake itself was about $40. To feed about 16-20 people. I thought the cake looked pretty cool but my picky son said that some of the details were wrong. Whut wah. We also picked up hamburger buns for a bbq we're having on Sunday. The buns are super soft and just the right size. I hate buns that are so big you can't even taste your meat. Also the donuts are pretty great. Light and fluffy. My favorite is the sugar glazed but if you don't go early on Saturday you'll miss out. read more

I recently ordered a customized buttercream cake for my parents retirement BBQ and was very pleased with not only the final product, but the experience I had with the bakery. They were friendly and answered my initial e-mail inquiry very promptly. After following up on the phone, they clarified things easily and put the order in. It was such a simple process that I was actually a bit concerned. However, the product was exactly what I was looking for appearance-wise, and the cake was delicious (I ordered one tier with chocolate and vanilla layers, and oreo icing). I did not really call around to price match with other bakeries, but I thought that their prices seemed very fair and I was pleased with what I got for that price. If I plan another event in the future, I would definitely look to Grandin Bakery for that special dessert. read more

This bakery is horrible if you don't like those crummy grocery store cakes made with that gross buttercream. In fact, many grocery stores like Save On have been realizing that people don't really like those cakes, because they are nothing like homemade and so they've been making better cakes and charging more money for them. Grandin Bakery charges lots of money for a little cake-- that tastes like those crummy sheet cakes no one ever REALLY wants to eat. My coworkers told me I must have picked a bad item, so I went back and tried some lemon tarts. They were basically shells filled with lemon buttercream frosting. I was yet again disappointed. I've had two cakes ordered from here. (Both customized designs) the first cake I got was beautifully decorated and looked identical to the photo I had shown them. The second one wasn't decorated quite as well but it was still delicious! Service was great! Price was pretty decent. I've never bought any of their other items. I have discoved this bakery on the web because we are from Montreal and we wanted a birthday cake for my brother in law near St-Albert and we were going to visit. this bakery is so good and we had a great service, they have so much choice that we wanted to buy so much, the cake was so delicious and we bought some danish, cookies figures and sugar tarts, cupcake, everything was great, I wish that we had a Grandin Bakery here in Montreal, my sister in law is going now to purchase her bakery there. The donuts here are awesome especially when there fresh early in the morning, but the good stuff goes fast so you gotta be here early! The cinnamon cindys are amazing also cant go wrong with just an old school chocolate dipped donut!! Ive also tried a few of the danishes before and found them above average. read more

Mecda at Grandin Bakery is such a gem! She made our wedding cake and cupcakes for us. They were beautiful, delicious and very affordable! We were so impressed with the service we recieved and how friendly the staff was. Mecda even special ordered a gold wraped stand for our cake to sit on to match our colors. All of the baked goods at Grandin Bakery are nut free so we ordered our cookie favours from there as well (also very affordable). We will be singing their praises for many years to come! read more
