One of my favorite things to do while traveling is to check out a local yoga or fitness studio…read more Thus, while staying at the Schofield for a night, Yoga Strong was the perfect choice to get my fitness on before I flew back to ORD. I was able to scope out the schedule and book my spot online (ahead of time)...and good thing I did. Having some "skin in the game" by reserving Ns paying ahead of time forced me to avoid sleeping in and skipping the 7am flow class! When I arrived at the really beautiful studio Kenzie greeted me and gave me a quick tour of the room, restrooms, cubbies, etc. Since I was from out of town I was able to borrow a mat for free but per updated signage it looks like mat rental now runs $2/day. There are towels for use as well as plenty of props and cleaners, so that's a plus. The studio itself is really lovely - modern yet warm with soaring ceilings. There were only three of us in the 7am class so I was able to both listen and watch well for all cues for the practice. Kenzie did a nice job leading the practice, keeping the music in line with the poses and ensuring that the intention stayed level throughout. I would absolutely come back to this studio and I certainly want to try some of their other classes too - aerial silks, cirque, etc!

Beautiful mat. Perfect for your at home practice. Not great for hot yoga as the mat didn't really…read morehave great grip and was slippery. Customer service response is excellent. BUT Beware of their return policy.... It basically leaves no room for an actual return. I have been enjoying the mat at home. I have passed this place hundreds of times and never thought I would be there for a Yoga class,…read moreuntil I was. Everyone was very polite. Marsha is an amazing woman and got us in and rolling very quick. I was greeted and felt at home almost instantly. For 33$ you can get a 3wk unlimited pass, which is a good deal. It was a 14$ drop-in fee. I personally feel I get a better outcome doing Yoga at home on my own, but if I were to go to a class, it would be here. It is in a quiet, out of the way place. No outside noise, or any other distractions.

I've visited the studio for yoga classes a few different times and my experiences have improved…read moreover time from a class perspective. In the physical studio, I find a hard time relaxing. There isn't a defined waiting area separate from the class space (it flows together). Because of this, during meditation or savasana people will be entering for the next class. With doors opening/closing, people talking and general noise that personally takes me out of the zone. They also catch noise from somewhere adjacent that sounds like a piano music class. However, I can sympathize that that's out of their control. I also had a class where the instructor had everyone go around the room stating any injuries/physical limitations. Many people find yoga due to physical limitations and it was very awkward. I believe those conversations should stay between instructor and student since everyone is on a different journey and doesn't always want everyone to know. They have a wonderful location and it's never terribly hard to find free parking in Tremont. I've also met some nice people and appreciate the non-competitive atmosphere. I have heard great things about their massage and other services and I would look forward to visiting one of those!
