there are still a bunch of other classes to take with an onslaught of other teachers, including tiiu, the studio owner, shanna, and a few others.

I finally visited Callies Pilates on 21 March 2024. It's located inside the 'Metropolitan at the 9'…read morehotel in downtown Cleveland. Keeping that in mind, free street parking will be difficult to find. PARKING -- I arrived downtown 10 mins early but I could not find street parking (rather, I did not have the time to find it) and I didn't want to park in a garage. I ended up using valet parking at the hotel which is $15 because Callies Pilates will give you a parking voucher which you will hand over to a valet parking staff member. Normally, valet parking at the hotel is $20. I would have spent less if I parked at a garage but I was pressed for time. You can pay by using a debit or credit card. After your first class, the studio will give you a parking pass to out on your dashboard to park for free at a parking lot between Bolivar Street and E. 9th street. The lot can only be used if there are not sport games or events happening on that day. REFORMER PILATES -- I took a reformer pilates class which is done on a reformer machine. I absolutely loved the class especially because the last time I was on a reformer was years ago at a fitness studio in Columbus, Ohio. The machine uses springs and straps tied to the machine to allow a pilates student to stand or lay down while performing different exercises. If you're unsure about reformer pilates, don't worry, it's alot of fun. The instructor will obviously guide you through the whole class format. Compared to regular pilates that is done on a yoga mat where your body weights is used as resistance, reformer pilates is a bit more challenging because of the extra weight exerted on your body from the straps/strings of the reformer machine. The class is small and intimate with 5 reformer machines available for use. There were 5 people total in the class that I attended, including myself. The instructor that I had, Stephanie J., was great. She started talking casually to a member who was in the class which caught me off guard at first and it was slightly distracting but eventually, I started having a conversation as well with Stephanie. I realised that this was the culture of the class and no one seemed bothered by it. While the price of a single reformer pilates class is quite hefty at $35 per class, it was worth it (although $25 sounds more reasonable). I'm sure there are alot of factors that go into price. I already have a current fitness regiment so I won't be returning to the studio anytime soon plus I don't have the budget for it right now but I highly recommend a reformer class. I wish I could take this class 2-3 times a week. **** GOAL of 150 reviews in 2024 - 20/150 total reviews in 2024 - 670 total overall Yelp reviews - Reviewed on Saturday, 20 April 2024

I normally don't write reviews, even when service is poor. But this experience was truly the worst,…read moreand I'm still shocked that a place like this exists. DO NOT go here. This place is straight-up racist, especially instructor Brianna DeFeo. I've been doing Pilates for 3 years and have never had issues communicating or participating in class, including my first two sessions at this studio. English isn't my first language, but I understand and follow instructions just fine. Everything went smoothly at first. Then I took a class with Brianna DeFeo. She barely acknowledged me, didn't give proper guidance, and spent most of the class chatting and laughing with two white women. It already felt like I didn't belong. Later that day, I suddenly received a message saying I could no longer attend group classes due to a "language barrier" and "for the instructor's safety." But during class, there was nothing wrong - other than the three of them chatting and laughing the whole time. So I called to ask, and was told that Brianna and the two women had raised a complaint. The supervisor then told me that because of that, I would no longer be allowed to join group sessions. The way they handled it was not only unprofessional, but also deeply disappointing. This studio clearly doesn't welcome non-white, non-native English speakers. The environment was cliquey, and I definitely felt an unspoken sense of exclusion. If you're not part of their circle, don't expect to be treated fairly. Avoid this place. And do not take a class with Brianna DeFeo. She's unprofessional, disengaged, and plays favorites.

BOOKING CLASSES -- Use their website. I had a ClassPass membership back then so I used my ClassPass credits to book the Reformer class. As of the writing of this review, in July 2026, BeFitness is no longer on ClassPass so guests will need to buy a single class package or a membership directly from BeFitness. A friend told me that they got rid of their Class Pass contract a while ago now. (Side-note: ClassPass is an app that allows members to book classes at different fitness studios and have the option to also access gyms and spas across various cities). REFORMER CLASS -- Anyone that has done a Reformer class knows that it is challenging, especially at 5am. The instructor was good because she provided understandable cues of what to do for each move/exercise. The instructor was enthusiastic as well. Having now taken other Reformer Pilates classes at a different Pilates studio in Avon and Bay Village, I definitely do not think the Reformer Pilates class at Be Fitness was as hard as the others that I've taken elsewhere. Nonetheless, I still recommend BeFitness if you live in the area and are looking for a beginner and intermediate friendly class. The Reformer Pilates class that I took at a different studio was a more advanced class. TIP (Reformer Pilates) -- The good thing about Reformer Pilates is that you can always adjust the resistance straps to increase or decrease the amount of resistance (weight) that you are pulling. SERVICE -- I remember the check-in process being smooth when I entered and the front desk woman greeted me (she was also the instructor). Overall, I enjoyed the Reformer Pilates class. Similar to many fitness studios, they sometimes have deals/sales so join their email list or visit them on social media to stay informed with current discounts. I joined the Cleveland area YMCA a month after visiting BeFitness so I most likely won't be back to BeFitness since the YMCA offers a ton of fitness classes in addition to a full gym, pool, sauna, etc. **** GOAL of 250 reviews in 2026 - 151/250 total reviews in 2026 - 992 total Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 1 July 2026

But they hired one of the best Aerialist in the city and I wanted to resume my practice. In addition to restarting aerial myself, I decided to get my niece involved. The studio made it very confusing and did not communicate to me how to register my niece. This resulted in me receiving an email that my registration was canceled, and we missed class. To this day, I have not received any follow up communication from the studio and the instructor was let go. All of this leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I was going to wait until I ran out of class passes to post my review, but this has been on my mind for days. My niece was making great progress and looked forward to attending. Sadly, we will not be members anymore.
