Not reliable or trustworthy…read more I had a 10 o'clock appointment on February 25th to get a leaky sink sprayer replaced, see about installing a new dishwasher , and repositioning a water heater. They didn't even have the professional courtesy to call and let me know they were running late. At 10:45 AM they still hadn't showed up so I called the office. The receptionist offered no apology, just said they were running late. (Duh!!) I replied, so why didn't someone call?? She simply responded, 'I'll get back to you and hung up.' The plumber finally arrived at 11:45 AM with a journeyman, and offered no apology. In fact, he was not a very pleasant or communicative person, although with each thing he looked at, he informed me there was a problem. To make a long story short, what I assumed might be $200, was almost $500. Unfortunately, I was told upfront, their policy was not to give estimates so I took my chances. I had used them in the past, as had neighbors in my condo development and been happy. THIS IS A VERY DIFFERENT COMPANY NOW and not for the better! In hindsight, I believe the 'no estimates' is their sneaky, dishonest way to inflate prices. They seemed to have no problem cashing my check within 24 hours , yet they've refused to respond to phone calls and VM to get back to me with a price breakdown. She gave me an hour timeframe and when the plumber was running a little behind schedule, she called to keep me informed. The plumber, his name escapes me (Travis?) was great. He spent about 45 minutes in my home and in that time diagnosed and repaired both sinks by replacing a few parts. He explained his work and gave me a few tips before he left. Very good experience. After some initial calculations, considering time to purchase the heater, dispose of the old one and install the new one along with some parts to connect the device, I estimated I was charged between $400 -$500 per hour. After discussing the charges, I was told "we do not charge an hourly rate for things like heat pumps, and hot water heaters--but instead a flat rate" Hot Water Heaters are $2500. The team was polite, and responsive, coming over the next day, but the bill left me in shock. Buyer beware. I will continue to tell this sad story about Motivated Mechanical Solutions.

Andrew was running a little Late but communicated that to…read moreme. I am retired so no big deal. He arrived with a nice smile and a very relaxed and friendly manner. We discussed what I wanted done today, gave me a quote and got right to work. I decided to have the immediate leak fixed but we talked about what he would like to do to update the antique plumbing attached to a very old double cellar sink and fixtures. He updated the washing machine plumbing and he said he would send me an estimate for the rest of the work which I would love to have updated. I loved what he did and what he would like to see updated. He was done quicker than I expected and I said I would let him know about the further updating of demo of sink etc. He was wonderful and he made me feel like he really cared about what I was dealing with health wise with the old plumbing. He's a great guy and I will call him when I am ready to finish the entire job but for today I love what we did and his work! I was super pleased!!!
