My family's experience with Spring Creek Assisted Living was mixed…read more On the positive side, my mom had a safe, comfortable space during the short time she was there. The food was good, and most of the daytime staff were kind and respectful to our family. We appreciated those individuals who showed care during an incredibly difficult period. However, there were significant issues that overshadowed these positives. Overnight staff repeatedly refused to assist our 24-hour hospice nurses with basic care needs such as turning my mom and helping keep her clean. This was especially concerning given her condition and the fact that hospice staff were present and asking for support. The most distressing issue came after my mom passed away. While she was alive, we fully paid the agreed-upon rate without dispute even though my mom was on 24-hour hospice care. However, after her death--despite the fact that she had lived at Spring Creek for only eight days and was on 24-hour hospice care the entire time--we were still required to pay an additional full 30 days of rent, including room and board and a full level-of-care fee. This was demanded even though the facility no longer provided--and in many cases never had to provide--care, medication administration, or meals. Of course this was outlined in the contracts I had signed while under duress and in crisis. During our immediate period of grief, administration was unwilling to have a compassionate or reasonable conversation about this. Instead, we were met with rigid demands and threats of late fees if payment was not made. At a time when we were mourning, this approach felt deeply lacking in empathy and left us feeling taken advantage of. While Spring Creek may be a good fit for some families, I would strongly encourage others--especially those considering short-term or hospice-related stays--to ask very detailed questions about overnight staffing support and financial policies after a resident's death.

The promises were wonderful when we were shopping, but the reality has been disappointing and worse. Service has been poor, meals are boring and there is little follow through on promises. They have over medicated my wife, lost some of her medicine and the red "emergency" button in the room did not work when we needed an ambulance. It is now reported that an employee was asked to repair the button in one resident's room and said that since there was a button in the bath and one in the bedroom, he did not need to repair the broken one. And, yes, the manager has heard about each of these and the problems remain. Beautiful facilities, some really nice staff and it looks fantastic, but I am truly excited about our move in a few weeks and have high hopes about improving our circumstances. AND, we are saving over $1,000 a month!

The entire staff at Southern Knights has made the transition for our family seamless. They have…read morebeen kind, caring and involved while taking care of our dad. The facility is well staffed, is always clean and odor free. We started with our dad at independent care and recently moved him to memory care. They are always having activities or socials that include family members to participate. For Valentines they held a Sweetheart dinner cooked by the staff and the food was excellent, the decorations, live music and crowning of kings and queens made this event festive and fun for everyone. I'm proud to tell people Southern Knights Is where our dad is living. It's a smaller facility and that has been a blessing. The staff/resident ratio is above and beyond.

My mom enjoyed her time in Assisted Living and she enjoyed being around people. They had a lot of activities and crafts also. She went there because she was living alone after my dad died and had fallen several times. It did take her time to get used to calling someone for help instead of just trying to get up and do it herself. The meals were good and they continue to improve life for the residents. I went by the other day and saw many of the same staff members I had known before.

Being privately owned and family operated the family cares about their reputation and residents. The corporate facility had a revolving door of employees who didn't stay long enough to get to know the residents and their individual needs, not so at Ranch Lake. It is run by a family and a few other employees that have stayed consistent. The fact that Ranch Lake is a smaller place it means eyes are on all residents all the time . It's is a totally different experience than the large sprawling care homes.. We have experienced both types of care homes the large corporate type and the smaller family owned and operated, hands down there is NO comparison Ranch Lake offers superior care..

The caregivers said they did not like the director because she only cared about the money and not the staff. They were overworked and understaffed. There was one rough caregiver, the regional director said she wasn't abusive just moving fast with my mom. Please do not take a loved one to Harvest HOme and Inwood Crossing! You loved one deserves a better place than this location.

The carpet was completely replaced a few months ago from damages resulting from the freeze. She had to move to another unit for several weeks and the cat was never a problem. So now we lose our lease because of a existing policy while we have made adjustment to major things like COVID and broken water pipes. The existing carpet is not in bad condition and any supposed pet stains are minor.

About 6 months ago, Jim passed away. The Conservatory is a luxury retirement home with an average rent of about $4500. As I walked through the hallways, there was fruit infused water to hydrate guests and residents. Near the L1 restrooms is a wall of fame of veterans as well as a Victorian looking stairway which led me to the second floor. I turned right into the hallway where table after table were the elderly residents playing games together. They were well dressed. We exchanged pleasantries and I arrived at the end of the hallway where the piano and event was. It looked like a pleasant retirement home with an expensive price tag to match. I can't help but sense the loneliness of a few residents as they return to their rooms.

My mother recently celebrated a milestone 90th birthday and Lynda Brown, the Director of Celebrations (yes, that's her job title) took the stress away from our family in planning this large event. April DelValle, the Culinary Services Supervisor and Michael Sevier, the Chef were also incredibly helpful in planning a private family dinner. I'm incredibly grateful for ALL of the staff who take the time to know my mother and inform me of her well-being when necessary. I know she is in good care and continue to live independently. The facility is beautiful and there are lots of activities for my mom to participate in----even church and senior fitness classes.

The other locations simply did not provide the expected and advertised care. Grace Residential Care Home does. I'd even go so far as to call it "overwhelming support and care." We are confident that Aunt Wanda is taken care of - no worries. The facilities are sharp, clean, well appointed, with a beautifully manicured patio and yard area with wonderful blooming plants. The food is homemade and the residents all say it is delicious. Our experiences at the past two memory care facilities were disappointing at best, and we never felt 100% comfortable. With Grace, I never have to wonder what is going on, because Lidia texts or calls me regularly if I need any information. I know my mom is extremely well cared for, and is shown love and affection daily. She went through a short combative phase and they were patient and helped us find a plan that alleviated her stress. She has really enjoyed the musical groups, crafts and special events. They even make sure she has her favorite gospel music on her tv! I really can't recommend Grace Residential highly enough and am so thankful to have such wonderful people care for her during this difficult stage.
