FTWCCU used to be cutting edge for web access and online banking, years ago. Their latest customer portal update is Horrible! Much clunkier than ever before. Bill Pay UI is more trouble and less user friendly than before. Mobile app is much less capable than the browser webpage. This is the nicest Fort Worth Community Branch I have been inside of. It's really bright and modern. I like that. And I appreciate the friendliness of their staff here. I don't spend my coins. And I am talking my literal change. When you cash your coins in and the balance exceeds $35 the credit union charges a 3% fee even for members. I would understand that fee more for non-members. Additional tacked on fees will always annoy me anywhere though. Also, I do appreciate that this location opens their lobby on Saturdays until 12. Thank you. read more

I updated my phone number to my account months ago but the online banking still asks to call my old phone to verify me. I called the number to get online help. No one answers. They say to press 9 to get a call back. No one calls back. I when to online chat. Every 2 minutes I get the message "All agents are currently assisting others. Your estimated wait time is 1 minutes and 46 seconds. Thank you for your patience.". Why is it always "1 minutes and 46 seconds". I can only assume their is no support for their online banking. read more

Very disappointed with two separate interactions with this bank. Have been with them for 7 years with both a checking and savings accounts. My husband passed away suddenly and went to deactivate his card and to alert them that he had passed so they could flag any fraudulent charges that may come through. They proceeded to CLOSE our JOINT account without telling me. Handed me a check. So on top of losing my husband, I had to open another account so I could receive my paycheck and pay my bills. 2nd interaction was me trying to deposit an overpayment check that was written in my husbands name from the insurance company. They would not accept it because he doesn't have any account there. They offered me no help whatsoever. So disappointed at the true lack of customer service. They were very cold and not the least bit helpful on either occasion. read more

Through a car dealer we did a new car loan through FWCCU in January 2020. all went well until we made the final payment. the final payment was made in early August 2024. On September 9 my wife called to see what was happening with the title. she was told that it was mailed to us on august 13 but returned as "undeliverable" on August 30. so, in 6 business days they did nothing. My wife asked what address the title was mailed to and the response was " the one you provided us"! we have not moved so the only address they had was the one they sent statements to for over 4 years, which we received. rather than go through this again, or worse, have the title get lost I drove the 15 miles one way to the bank. The teller e-mailed or instant messaged whomever she needed and after waiting 5 minutes for that person to respond she asked me to have a seat as somebody would bring the title. After another 30 minutes a young lady brought the title. No apology, for taking 30 minutes! The good news, we now know who NOT to use for another loan. read more

I love my bank! I don't want to get all political or start making generalized, sweeping statements about evil banks destroying America and all that... I'm just here to talk about my own personal experience with FWCCU (this lovely bank), because most of us have bank accounts and will have to deal with banks for the rest of our lives, that's just the way it is. I've had accounts with FWCCU for many, many years now, and I've never had any problems with them whatsoever. In today's world, you rarely have to physically visit a bank because we can do everything online, and I SO appreciate that. But whenever I have been here in person to deposit a check or what have you, the staff has been friendly, quick to get you in and out, and professional. Whether you go through their drive-thru or walk inside, you're treated with respect and there never seems to be long lines. A few months back, several people who had shopped at Target during a certain time frame (using their credit/debit cards) had to have their cards canceled because they were possibly compromised. Annoying. But FWCCU had me set up with my new debit card within a few days; so quick and easy and I didn't have to do a thing. I love FWCCU's website and mobile app, as well. Both are extremely easy to navigate, secure, and incredibly convenient. I love being able to pull out my phone to check on my accounts or to quickly deposit a check (today's technology is crazy, y'all). I love being able to tell, whenever I want, if something weird is going on with my accounts (and usually there isn't, of course). But it's great having access to that important information right at your fingertips, 24/7. No unnecessary phone calls or letters or waiting around. The website also makes it super easy to find and print any of your bank statements from when you first opened your account. All in all, I'm a huge fan of FWCCU. I feel like they take really great care of their customers, and I'd recommend them to anyone in a second! read more

My husband and I have been with this bank for years. We even have one of our cars financed through them. My debit card information was stolen online that resulted in $2500 fraudulently charged to my account in one day. I tried to contact the bank the same day, but it was after 5 and they were closed. They do not have a 24 hour service to call into when something like this happens. My only choice was to report my card stolen through an automated system. In trying to be proactive, I called all of the businesses that were charged on my account and informed them that I did not authorize the charges. More on that later. The next day I called the bank and informed them on what happened. I was told that the fraud department should of caught these charges as they were not normal and that the bank had dropped the ball. I ordered a new card and was transferred to the disputes department. I spoke to a gentleman who gave me little information on what their plan of action would be and how long it would take for me to recover my money. Fast forward to two days later, and I see a previous line of credit that I had paid off show up on my bank account with $1000 worth of draft fees applied to it. This is on top of the $2500 that has been stolen from me. I called back in and spoke to a teller that tells me that I have to pay those back to the bank once the money is back in my account. I then speak to her supervisor who does tell me that she will speak to accounting and get back to me. She was very helpful as far as informing me on the status of my account. But she also asked me when I would be able to pay off the $1000 in draft fees that were applied to this line of credit due to my account being over drafted for the fraud charges. In what world is does this sound normal or ok!? Why would I be liable for bank charges that were applied to my account due to someone stealing my information and using/over drafting my account!? Because of my leg work of contacting all of the businesses that were charged to my card, they were the ones that reversed the transactions, not FTWCCUs investigation department. I was also the one that had to ask if I needed to file a police report, as I was not informed that this was a normal step when your account was compromised. I assumed the fraud department would take care of this. I now wonder exactly what their responsibility in all of this is since so far I have done all the work. Fraud is a scary thing. You feel violated and scared, not to mention the financial burden it puts you in when fighting to get your money back. I depended on my bank to not only protect me financially, but to help me through this process. Instead, they've added insult to injury and I am having to fight them to keep the $1000 in draft fees. As soon as this is cleared up, my husband and I will be closing our accounts with FTWCCU and we will transfer our car loan. I actually put off applying for a HELOC because I had first inquired about applying for one with my mortgagee, Chase. Their process was complicated and time consuming. Such a great credit union, everyone is very nice and friendly. I dropped the big banks after they tanked the economy and got bailed out with our tax money. Had a few loans here in the past the rates are great. I'm not sure if the person that made a comment about not being able to contact the bank after hours is just uninformed or inept. You call the number on the back of the card and choose the option for lost or stolen and their are people that handle it 24/7.I have personally been able to get money back after scammers got my card so I know it works. The lost stolen number also works if your card gets a fraud lock after hours or if locked from traveling and u need to get it unblocked. Never had a problem. My only complaint is that its difficult to receive money from others because all the big banks use quickpay or zelle. Also, I love the mobi money app, super easy to see charges in real time and prevent fraud. read more

I took my father in law to at least 5 Credit Unions to apply for a HELOC. Shelia from FWCCU was by far the BEST. She explained everything to us. She initiated the Paperwork immediately and followed up with us on the process. We had already gotten our approval letter from FWCCU before we'd even heard from another CU. My parents have been members of the FWCU for 40+ years and I had been a member for many years off and on but not for the past 10 years. I just can't get a warm feeling of ever wanting to become a member ever again because their continued snobby pompous attitudes they project, especially to non-members including siblings of parents who are. I recently went to enquire about a notary for some documents involving a parent who recently passed away. Very abruptly was told that we cannot help you because you're not a member. I advised that my parents were but one had passed away. Then from across the hallway from a cubicle a Latino chick chomping on gum said you have to join for us to provide you a notary. I wasn't even talking to this rude chick. I asked if they offered a fee for non members and both rude ass ladies said sorry we can't help you! I thanked them for their snobbish uncaring attitudes and googled nearby notary's. Less than 3 miles away was PostNet which offers notary service for $5.95. 10 minutes later all done and the ladies at PostNet were exceptional and not surprised by the FWCU attitudes of not helping. I understand policies but even not charging non members for a notary is ridiculous. I will say that one thing the FWCU is good at, and that's their continued snobbish attitudes and they continue to hire people who really don't care. FWCU= Big building with Big attitudes. read more

This is in regards to the tellers only- their customer service is so terrible. Including the manager, who is rude. I realize that the standard of service for this type of job isn't 5 star, but the least they can do is be competent and nice. I would recommend them for an auto loan but as far as banking, places like Chase and Wells Fargo have better qualified employees that you can deal with. I don't know that the employees working the teller side (management included) go through much training to do that job. read more

By far, one of the best financial institutions I've ever encountered. The Staff is always incredibly courteous, friendly & super helpful! Last year, I lost my entire wallet while traveling, which included my ID. I went to both of my other (2) banks to attempt to withdraw funds while I was awaiting replacement cards, neither of which would give me any of MY money although I knew everything about the accounts & could pull them up on my phone. My last hope was FWCCU. I walked in, stood in life, then began explaining my dilemma to the Teller assisting me while providing my SSN, when I heard the words...."No problem, how much would you like to withdraw?"! I told her the amount then asked why she hadn't put me through the 'Spanish Inquisition' thus making me feel like a thief, when she turned her monitor around so I could see a picture of the image from ID proving who I was! I was thoroughly impressed & incredibly grateful considering my other banks are National & much larger than them, but clearly missing the technology & customer focus that is clearly evident at FWCCU! Had a car loan at this location since 2011....paid the loan off and six months later, and after 4 phone calls, I still don't have the title to my car. They claim they mailed it in December after an "address mixup" (same address for over 15 years). Now they can only send me a release of lien and I now have to take it upon myself to file for a duplicate title. SMH. read more

I LOVE FTWCCU for many reasons: The employees are almost always very friendly. I've been a member of FTWCCU for almost 10 years and I can only remember one time when the teller was less than very friendly. I figure everybody has a bad day every now & then so I gave her a pass! I joined FTWCCU because credit unions are more willing to work with a person who has suffered a financial loss and is trying to rebuild their credit rating. I had been scammed out of $12,000 which was put on my credit cards. About 4 years later I had 7 root canals to the tune of $3,000. Not a problem because I had the money in savings. BUT, on the way home from the dentist my car started acting up. I had to spend another $3,000 for the transmission to be rebuilt. YIKES! I had spent most of my savings on root canals, so I decided to ask FTWCCU for a loan. When I talked to the loan officer at FTWCCU I was told that my credit rating was not good. I told her the sad story about being scammed AND, I also told her that I know credit unions were formed many, many years ago specifically to help people in times of financial need and that banks are not inclined to help people so much. That clinched the deal; I got a loan for the money I needed to pay the transmission shop! YAY! The FTWCCU people are always SO helpful. A couple of years ago I had to take over my sister and her hubby's finances. They used a well-known big bank. I had a considerable amount of stuff to tend to at their bank. Then one day I needed to get a couple of checks paid to my sis & hubby cashed. I was in no mood to go to the BIG bank & wait for half an hour or more to get assistance. So, I went to FTWCCU. The FTWCCU person asked me why I hadn't gone to the BIG bank and I said, "It's so much easier here at FTWCCU." She agreed and I was done & on my way in just a few minutes! Terrible account options. (I have 2 other accounts with a different credit union, a brokerage account, and a bank account. I need a new account for a particular long term use, and my current credit union doesn't have local branches, which i'm going to need in this case; And that's why i was searching for a new one.) Went there and talked to a Carol, because the receptionist said that there were no bankers or investment managers in that giant building. ~Red flag~ Then Carol went on to tell me that they don't have any options where savings accounts pay dividends for high yield holdings at any term or quantity.. They only have Certificates of Deposit to offer, and she was unsure of the interest that would accrue annually; She gave me a ballpark "i think it's" -figure from the 1.low to 2.none. They require you to open a savings account in order to open a checking account, which is standard. But the 0% payout for high yield holdings is not standard with the rest of the market. This seems like the kind of service for someone who really just needs access to a Visa, MasterCard, or somewhere to send their deposits.. But there are online services that would offer you much less risk if you tend to have have low account holdings, and much more reward if you tend to save anything. Carol also said that the checking account requires you to have a balance of 1 cent at all times or you will be overdrawn... There is no deposit for the checking account, but there is a 1 cent balance that is required :^ l... ~Let that sink in.......................~ This is the kind of place that doesn't make their money from investing your capital. She was very uncomfortable with talking about the packages offered in detail, and her training & script seemed to leave her with only tools of qualifying me for an account. This seems like the kind of Walmart bank that makes their money off of fee's and playing games with the account holders who don't know those games. Their Savings & Checking account packages currently offer much less than market value for a Credit Union. I don't know why. Maybe someone from this Credit Union can answer that very simple question, in reply, for all whom might be concerned in the future. read more

I have had so many horrible experiences with this credit union. I have never had a bank that will not allow us to spend our money. I have literally called them and told them that I was about to make transactions and they still block the transaction. Amounts don't matter. I understand protecting against Fraud. Yet I had to go get other bank accounts to make transactions. I don't have any issues with any other banks except this credit union. If I did not have all of my bills and direct deposits attached to this bank I probably would have already moved totally. read more

Finally, we are free from the Big's and find This CU the best so far. CU's are non-profit.
