Yesterday around 3 pm, I thought I'd need to see a banker to handle my issue, but Justin Yarcik was at the window inside, and he solved everything so perfectly! I had never been in this branch before. I have had an account with EECU since 2015, but had not used it in years. I needed to reactivate my account and get a new debit card, so my son, who also has an EECU account, could deposit my birthday money for me from your location downtown. I was unsure how to update everything in order to quickly arrange this, and our time frames were extremely tight. Imagine how pleased I was to have this bright, personable young man listen intently to what I needed, and then he made it happen! Nothing has been this easy in my recent memory. Not a fan of this bank. If you deposit a check expect to wait a full day before you have access to it, "it's an unfamiliar check for your account." Even when they give you partial access you still have to wait. They will keep shit pending. I hate it here. read more

This is an updated review. After closer scrutiny I realize that EECU may need to get looked at by regulators. Here's the scoop: Worst car loan experience I've ever had. They asked for proof of insurance. I submitted. Without any communication following they charged me 140.00 dollars for "insurance". They wanted a back end document my insurance company had already sent them but from me which no laymen would know. Of course I have a HUGE mouth and told my experience to others. Come to find out this is their regular gig. Here is the scam: They only serve people who are in the used car market for car loans and that have 800 or above credit score. They give these people below market price because they have such great scores. The dealership sends them business because they think they are doing right by the client. Then, EECU sends the consumer some notices to send in insurance verification. If we open it we send it in and get no communication it's the wrong document. Also, most people don't open it because no car loan makes you do this back end stuff. That's for the professionals. They charge you 140.00 a month for insurance if you don't give them a back end document you don't even have unless requested from the insurance carrier. This is a tell tale sign it's a scam aside from having a system that sets you up for failure: EVERYONE gets charged 140.00 regardless of the size of your car note. It's not variable based on liability. If you catch it, you may fight for a refund. I have yet to get mine after turning in documentation (but I did pay all but 400 of my loan off in the last two days because these people do not deserve my money or security!). They are banking on you not noticing and if you do notice not fighting for it. This system is designed this way. They pick premium credit score people who would always have insurance then demand a document none of us have then charge us 140.00 a month extra so they can self insure. Do not be fooled; this is not another insurance company that is insuring it. It is them. This is why they can refund you. This is why they seem to charge below market interest; they scam you on the back end. Don't fall for it like I did! Regulators need to get involved. This is financial services and regulation needs to step in. read more

I came here to open a shared checking account with my boyfriend so we could start paying for groceries by card. I couldn't open one with my bank as banks usually have to have a direct deposit linked to your card and have penalty if you don't use the card often. I contacted EECU and found out I don't need direct deposit. When we went in, the place was pretty empty. We were greeted nicely and the finance manager has able to assist us immediately. In 30 minutes, both of us came out with our new debit cards. It's great you don't have to wait for your card to be mailed. I loved how everyone was very nice and welcoming in this branch and the service was quick! read more

I went to this credit union only because my last bank closed its Saturday hours because of the Wuhan virus. I went in today to convert rolls of coins to bills, but their coin machine is still broken after a month. I asked the teller if she could convert the rolls to bills herself, but she said they can't because they have no way to verify the amount. Do credit union employees not know how to count? Seriously, what kind of credit union can't convert money? I've had other problems with them also. I couldn't order checks online because of the way their account numbers are set up. Plus, their telephone banking system is poorly designed and unnecessarily difficult to use. Transactions that I know have gone through aren't listed in their phone system. They get one star for being open on Saturdays and another for having a safety deposit box, but if I could find another bank with those services, I would much rather go there instead. (What this branch couldn't do in weeks, B of A got done in a moment, no problem! ) read more

Seriously folks, why everyone doesn't use a credit union for their banking is beyond me. A non-profit model that has pretty much all the bells and whistles of the big bailout megabanks, with 10% of the grief. Recently utilized EECU to open an home equity loan (after multiple calls to the bank hucksters, trying to sell me on other products I did NOT need). I must say, this process was easy, efficient and everyone I've dealt with, up to closing in Hurst, has been great. No hidden fees, just quoted interest rates, and they pay all related closing costs, with exception of appraisal. That's it! They've got my business for a long time to come (besides the obvious loan I just took out!). read more

STAY AWAY! I've visited this place twice to both open an account and to refinance. The experience was terrible.. their staff is so robotic it's almost like I'm at a Kroger self checkout. Their personal banker who was helping me refinance my vehicle during the second time visit has no personality whatsoever. It's almost like if she was simply there just to get that weekly check which is sad because genuine people deserve somebody more upbeat with a better work ethic. At the end of the day my application was approved, but I had to be the one who called them which was pretty sad because I was given the run around for an entire week before I received a final answer. I wouldn't recommend any of my close loved ones or any of my network to place their time, efforts, or money into this business after what I was put through. read more

I have been banking at EECU for ages, always pay my bills on time, have a credit score over 725, and have never filed bankruptcy. I am a mature, educated woman who has a graduate degree. I am a retired school teacher, teach part-time at the local junior college, and I recently obtained my real estate license. Yet EECU declined to give me a $1500 or $2000 personal loan. Really? They made me feel stupid for recommending them to my friends and fellow realtors. They have poor judgment. I will be taking some of by business elsewhere and recommend my friends do, too. read more
