I have an ancient truck that is, unfortunately, probably nearing its final days. I took it to Singer for inspection and they gave me an unbelievably thorough list: things that absolutely had to be taken care of right away, things I should address within the next six months, and stuff that could be done, but isn't critical. As someone without a lot of cash but who needs consistency and reliability, mechanics like this are a godsend. I'm about due for an oil change and even though Singer is absurdly out of my way, I'm pleased to be heading back there.

It's such a money grab. Our cars are nicer than half the cars out on the roads of this city and they ALWAYS can manage to find something. We took it to another place down the street and passed easily. It's very frustrating.

I sat there for an hour, finally began looking around. The car was up on a rack in the second row. They hadn't touched it. I told the guy at the desk to take it down and give me the keys. This brought the svc mgr into it. Another 15-20 minutes later, the desk guy came over with my keys. "I took care of it," he said. I assumed he meant they'd fixed it for no charge. Wrong. I got home, the bolt was still there. If you value your time, avoid this place. The people there seem hassled and unhappy.

One of the more friendly neighborhood mechanic shops I've found. In my opinion, they are…read moretrustworthy and good to work with. A few years back, struggling massively to find someone to do a required MO Car Inspection, they really stepped up and helped out even though they were booked. More recently, my wife's car was pulling really badly and we thought it would be more than an alignment, maybe an axle or worse. Nope, just an alignment ($100) and much-needed new tires. While their tire quote was a bit higher than say, a big box store, I wanted to go with them for a few reasons. One, they're local and had been very helpful. Two, like many things these days, there was a shortage of tires due to shipping issues and whatnot, so why not knock it out? They also have done a nice, thorough job of looking over other potential car issues without being pushy at all, just as a diagnostic and heads up. One more big thing that makes this a natural spot for me: It's along the Trolley Trail, right by a city bike rental stand. Got more than an hour to kill? Ride to Waldo or Brookside for a cup of coffee. For me, I can even take it home and don't have to coordinate a ride to/from. Good spot overall that I recommend. It might be a few percentage points pricier than some I've been to, but worth it for all the reasons mentioned above.

I do business with Goodyear because I expect a certain degree of competence and integrity. I can buy tires anywhere (even a Walmart). So I go to the Wornall location to BUY A SET OF TIRES. I am quoted a multi tire price. Amd promised an alignment if I need it. First problem when I pick it up it's 37 degrees out of alignment and they want me to take it like that, saying they can't align it. So I have to wait an additional three days for the manager to fix that. Then after I get home I notice the spare is NOT even the same size as the tires they put on. I don't like that and call to get my spare tire matching what they just put on. He says he'll do it for the same tire price as the $800 of tires I just bought a few days ago. A multi tire purchase. But when I get in there he's up charging and charging me to mount the tire. NOT WHAT WE AGREED TO. And he claims free mounting is only for multi tire purchases. I just bought $800 worth of tires in this same location a couple days ago. Not to mention he said he would do it for the same price. These guys are incompetent and they DO NOT honor their agreements or responsibilities to customers. They have seen my last dollar! Purchase here at your own risk. SHAME ON YOU GUYS. How short sided. I own 7 vehicles. And buy a lot of tires. BUYER BEWARE!

Battery: dead Schedule: busy…read moreAvailability to take car to dealer: no Mobile service needed: yes Prymo did a fairly primo job for me. My car, like many cars that are on the market today, has tons of bells and whistles, so adding a battery means doing a reset and reprogram. Guess what? I don't have the tools or the knowledge on how to do that. Could I change a battery many years ago? Absolutely! Could I change a battery now? No way... That's why I needed someone with the tools, the know-how, and the availability. I put in a request via Yelp to get a project started, and Prymo was the first to respond and had availability the next morning. They sent a tech to my house, he quickly diagnosed that the battery had no charge left, even though I had a jump the day before, and he commenced replacement. I didn't have to do anything other than do what I usually do, which is work from home. Fast-forward a half-hour and the job was done. I had a new battery, the tech had reprogrammed everything to its proper state, and he was on his way. Prymo accepts debit and credit, though a credit card purchase will come with a 3% charge, which is very fair since that's what the banks stick to the business. It wasn't cheap, but most of the cost was in the actual battery itself, which came with a five-year warranty. Great response, simple to navigate and schedule, and the tech was professional and skilled. Great experience and highly recommend if you're in the same situation.
