I normally would not do this, but I HAVE to…read more I am a Doula with the Maternity Care Coalition and I have been set back SIGNIFICANTLY! My last birth was at the beginning of July and I have not received a payment for that birth or any other paperwork submitted along with it and it is almost October. I have emailed payroll back to back and last week was my first time hearing back from them. Apparently, there were double visits that were not approved and instead of emailing me back and explaining the delay, they decided to IGNORE me and HOLD all of my money rather than sending me what was approved. Their LACK THERE OF has me behind on my rent and unable to pay a portion of the rest of my bills as I had to stretch my savings to get what was most immediate. I now have to move from my current residence, all while previously being under immense stress from having to leave my main job due to immense stress. I could talk all day about how this has caused me to spiral, but I am not here for that. I am here to find out WHO else has experienced what I have and how I can correct it as best as possible. I spoke with a few different lawyers, but they are asking for money I do not have because, through MCC, I am considered a private contractor. I KNOW for sure I am not the only one who has been placed on the back burner due to other people's mistakes, and it is not like we get paid enough to play around like this. I love what I do, and I love my Doula sisters, but never did I think I would have to do this. Unfortunately, what else is there to do when I am UNECESSARILY fighting for my survival due to a display of incompetency! MCC, get it TOGETHER! I am highly disappointed. HIGHLY!

Absolutely one of the greatest charities in Philadelphia. Does a lot to help low income moms and…read moretheir infants by providing necessary and vital prenatal and post-natal care. They run the "MomMobile," which is a traveling clinic that helps provide care and resources to moms and babies in low-income neighborhoods. Also does wonderful advocacy work for laws that promote healthier mothers and babies. Each year around Mother's Day they run their annual fundraiser, which allows you to send a Mother's Day card in honor of or in memory of your mother or other similar persons in your life. This is a beautiful way to truly pay tribute to what such people have done for you by making it possible for other people to receive the same fantastic care and love you did from your mom and other "moms" in your life. Please support this charity. They do really good work.

I've become very familiar with the process from 32 weeks to delivery at 39 weeks (including bi-weekly NSTs and weekly ultrasounds) I can attest that Penn Medicine provides excellent care. I always tried to schedule early appointments for Washington Square to avoid potential long wait times. The office keeps a whiteboard updated with accurate wait estimates. My most recent pregnancy, the wait times were improved compared to my previous two. The front office staff is friendly and helpful. In antepartum testing, nurse Ro-who was present all three pregnancies there, is awesome, down-to-earth, kind, and always reassuring. My ultrasound experiences have been consistently great across all three pregnancies. All the techs have been professional and patient. A special shout-out to one u/s tech Adriana, who went above and beyond to get 4D image of my daughter's face at 33 weeks, because baby was stubborn and did not allow any other views until birth lol. I really cherish that scan to this day. One CRNP (no need to name) can be a little slow when it comes to uploading obstetric reports-sometimes not getting uploaded until the following day, but she is incredibly thorough and attentive. My only real complaint is the parking garage fees, at 60 mins I think its $18 or $21 so yeah it adds up especially if you have to come weekly or more. The level of care and support here makes it all worth it.

If your baby is expected to have chromosomal abnormalities, do NOT go here!!…read moreAfter finding out my son was expected to have trisomy 21, they pushed for me to abort him on multiple different occasions solely for a higher probability of T21, multiple different doctors and staff. Even after a note was put in my chart to stop asking if I want to abort him because I do NOT, I was asked again and again if I'm aborting and given false information about my sons probable future to try to make me feel guilty for continuing my pregnancy. They speak of abortion like it's a sales pitch. Dr.Dukoff, Dr. sehdev, and Natalie Wisniewski to name a few involved in this. While in labor, multiple high priority pages were sent to Dr Calcei and ignored resulting in my son being stillborn at 34 weeks just 30 minutes after arriving at the L&D unit. Dr.Calcei does not care whether your baby lives or dies as long as he is getting paid. He has refused to simply write down my son's name so I can receive his death certificate. These are just a few instances of the incompetence I've experienced with Pennsylvania hospital. I have spoken to every supervisor there is, I have filed a report, and I have yet to have my voice heard. Protect your babies and yourself from Pennsylvania Hospital, go anywhere else!

They worked with me to finalize the details and the final quote was in line with what I was looking for and very competitive. What impressed me the most was the professionalism of the studio across the board - working with the owner on the timeline, working with the photographers each day, and the speed of the final deliverables. The studio even made some adjustments on a group photo to remove some items and enhance it. Prior to the start, the owner created a very detailed timeline of the event for each photographer and a group text to keep everyone informed of any changes or to handle any issues. The photographers themselves were great! They were not obtrusive, quick to respond and did a great job capturing the spirit of the event across the 3 days. To summarize, what impressed me was: - Timeliness on quoting and response rate - Excellence of staff - Coordination of staff - Punctuality and professionalism - Quality of the final product Please consider them for your next event.

I was recently asked to provide a review for J & J Studios, nearly five years after working with…read morethem. I had avoided doing so because I understand how hard it can be for small businesses, especially in the wedding industry, and I do not leave negative reviews lightly. That said, the request brought the experience back, and I feel it is worth sharing for other couples. We originally booked J & J Studios during lockdown in 2020 for our April 2022 wedding. In January 2022, after I received a serious medical diagnosis, my husband and I had to postpone our wedding to October. Our venue and every other vendor worked with us, requested reasonable documentation, and did not require additional payment. J & J handled things differently. We were told we would need to pay a new deposit to hold the new date, plus an additional fee because they were unlikely to rebook our original date. We were told that if they did book it, the extra cost would be refunded. With significant medical bills at the time, that added cost was not feasible. For context, about two months after we postponed, I had a friend inquire about our original April date, and she was told it was booked. I wish the experience had been different. We were willing to meet them in the middle as far as the additional payment given the circumstances but they felt they could not at the time. I understand that businesses have policies, but during an already difficult and emotional time, we were left feeling unsupported.
