I saw her right before Christmas and it is now the end of January and she nor her office have called me back with the results of my blood work or to schedule the MRI. I called their office to see the status and her nurse stated my records were at the other office and she would have to call me back. I still have yet to receive a call from them. I asked all the questions about my insurance covering it, what my cost would be, and "Are you sure they will pay for a second allergy test?" They assured me it was covered and said they already called and got approval, blah blah blah. Fast forward a week after the test: they call and say, "Oh, well, we got approval, but now they are saying it is not approved. This isn't your fault; I am going to talk to the Dr. to see if we can work with you on the payment or just wipe it because it is on us..." Fast forward another nine days and no call, no email, nothing--but they did send a bill. I am not upset about the money; if they had told me from the beginning so I could plan for it, I would have been okay with it. It's the surprise bill, the lack of communication, and the lying about "let me talk to the Dr. and call you right back" only to just send the bill anyway without even an explanation. I would have even respected a call saying, "I talked to the Dr., but we cannot waive the fee. I'm sorry." I would have responded with, "Thank you for trying." Anyway, save yourself from the greedy, money-grubbing, "only communicate when it's for getting money" doctors and try to find one that's honest. I have found a crackhead behind Walmart selling Flonase. Call me crazy, but I have a good feeling about him--well, better than this place, anyway.

I was able to get in to see him on Monday, and his affable manner allowed me to take his advice, and stop dehydrating myself with antihistamines and multiple crawfish boils. His sage advice? A great take-home tip sheet to recognize the differences in allergies and what he coins 'The New Orleans Nose", which is more weather-related.
