Charles went out of his way to get in touch with me and said he couldn't get me there on time (he is based far from where my car was), but he could refer me to people that could. He also said if I don't make my appointment and had to reschedule, he would be able to give me a tow for the new appointment date. Long story short, his going out of the way to connect me with other drivers saved me. These are the types of people I want to do business with. With his experience, I trusted him to tow my range without a flatbed and the entire trip home went smoothly (even on the freeway). So even if you need your luxury vehicle towed, TRUST CHARLIE! Although it took up a lot of his time he drove slowly and cautiously to ensure no accidents happened and didn't just rush to get the job done. Growing up my family did struggle for reason I do know and am so grateful it was still filled with love and caring heart I'd like to think that we all can do it in the same small way that in all will make someone smile. Amazing event that was literally like a carnival filled with various vendors and arts, crafts and games really for all ages was incredible. There was a contest and the winning totes sales goes the University of Howait West O'chu Acodemy of Creative Media who was there with a claw game and gave out aloe plant for prizes is fun and unique. Before I ordered, I had considered buying a MINI on the mainland and shipping it to Hawaii myself. Garthan patiently answered all of my questions, walked me through the advantages of ordering directly through MINI of Hawaii, and gave me the confidence that they would take care of me when I arrived on Oahu. That decision turned out to matter far more than I ever expected. My original JCW made it all the way to the Port of Los Angeles, where it was severely damaged during transportation and ultimately totaled. Instead of the car I had ordered arriving around the same time I moved to Hawaii, I suddenly had no car at all. Garthan personally called me with the bad news. What I remember most about that conversation, though, is that he didn't just tell me there was a problem. He immediately told me there was a plan. MINI would fast-track a replacement JCW built to my original specifications, and MINI of Hawaii would make sure I had transportation in the meantime. They provided me with a courtesy Countryman S for nearly three months, at no cost to me, until my replacement JCW arrived in August. Throughout the entire process, Garthan kept me informed, answered what must have been a ridiculous number of questions from me, advocated for me with MINI USA, and continued helping me even after I took delivery. He and the dealership also worked with MINI USA on a goodwill gesture for the delay, which ultimately helped pay for a custom surfboard from a local Hawaii shaper. That's a pretty great ending to a story that started with my brand-new car being totaled before I ever got to drive it. Anyone can sell you a car when everything goes according to plan. You find out how good a dealership and its people really are when something goes badly wrong. That's why I'm especially glad I listened to Garthan and ordered through MINI of Hawaii rather than buying on the mainland and trying to handle everything myself. When the unexpected happened, I had someone here who took ownership of the problem and made sure I was taken care of. Garthan and the MINI of Hawaii team earned my business and my recommendation. The guy even told me when I checked in that morning, that I may or may not be helped.. I honestly didn't even believe that'd be so. I just don't understand what this post-COVID world has come to with all these mandatory appointments. Can we not just stand in line and be dealt with the same day? Geez. It's ridiculous to have to wait 3 weeks for a title transfer when you're only given 30 days to get it done. Okay, rant over. But you catch my drift. This is the main location I go to since it's closest to home. Finding an appointment for motor vehicle needs can take about 3 weeks, which is definitely ridiculous - especially when you can clearly see workers taking their sweet time. Some are nice. Some are helpful. Some are sassy. At the end of the day, you really are just another number here. On my last visit, I did find some joy in the fact that I actually got an appointment online and patiently waited the 3 weeks. Once I got there, I was able to get into the appointment line 30 mins ahead of my set time. As I waited tho, it was pretty crazy seeing a crowd of 50+ people outside while two workers were sitting at their windows, not helping anyone...... So yeah... super busy place. I told hubs you're going yourself right? He said No! Geez I felt like a mommy taking their child to the dentist. We arrived 45 minutes early and checked in with the wahine at the table in front of the door. She checked that hubs had all his paperwork then said wait outside. I'm going to lunch. Someone will take my place and call you in. I could have done an imaginary hop Skotch and his name was called. Ooh yay! She said go to the last blue window(window 4) There another employee assisted. The nicest voice and smiling eyes above her mask. She double checks his paperwork and says, You're all set. Go to window 8 to have your photo taken. Wow!!! It was that fast and we were all pau in a very short time. You would never know that this office existed down here- by our fur bebe's groomer and Flo Mins. The office interior is clean, bright and so are their counters and restrooms. Fastest and friendliest government workers ever. Trust me, best service ever!
