Asking for a tip on checkout

They're asking for a tip... on checkout. If your employees need to be paid more, that's on you Worldwide Cyclery. And please, do pay them more! How am I supposed to tip pre-service? Why should I tip when paying *retail* prices? This is a store, not a sit down restaurant.

I ordered a mountain bike fork and it was delivered just 3 days later. I see some negative reviews here, but my order went perfectly.

They are terrible at international shipping, hide extra duty charges until the bitter end. Way over priced

Absolutely fabulous experience! Taylor was incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to get my…read morehusband's bike ready to ride. They replaced his inner tubes and did a quick once-over of the bike to make sure everything was safe and sound (particularly with a child's seat attached to the back). He made a few minor brake adjustments on the spot, and Dave was wonderful in helping us schedule a future appointment for a full tune-up. Everyone was friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. It's so refreshing to find a local shop that provides such great customer service and takes the time to make sure things are done right. We'll definitely be back and highly recommend them!

Very long and disappointing after purchase support from this bike shop. As a traveler, I purchased…read morea 1000 mile Sworks e-bike and hit the road. I'm positive if I had checked the bike out locally before driving out of town they would have either repaired it properly or I would have returned it. As it was, my first ride in the mountains on my way to New Mexico indicated that the drive train needed an adjustment. I had arranged to get an external battery pack at a shop in Arizona the next day. I asked them to adjust the drive train while they added the external battery pack. I was in the shop when I dropped it off that afternoon and he put the device on the rear derailleur and immediately said the adjustment was unusual. After he few more minutes he said one of the cogs on the cassette was broken and a new cassette and chain were necessary to make the bike right. I agreed, paid the price and made my way to New Mexico. I contacted the salesman, seemed like a straight fella, and he said send in the bad parts and he'll get me replacements. I agreed and sent the cassette and chain back to shop as my travels continued to New Mexico and beyond. Months went by, the salesman said the owner had to sign off on the replacement and his story changed from the fact that I had everything that comes with a new bike. I registered the bike with Specialized and took it along with my two other Specialized bikes and ventured on to Canada and Newfoundland. During this whole time the salesman kept putting me off. Finally, I said to him, "Please send me my parts in Texas and I'll see what I can do with my dealers." It gets better, guess what, according to my salesman my cassette had disappeared. He can't return it and he's not sending me a replacement. You didn't buy a fully covered demo like the salesman told me when I loaded up. I bought a $10,000 used bike. Wow! How weird does this story get. He finally sent me a chain. Without a doubt the worst dealer/shop I have dealt with in my extensive bicycle life. Bottom line...watch these fellas....seem to have all the working parts; but, a dark soul. Life is short, I have too many great relationships with hard working bike shops in the US, Mexico and Canada that support their customers that support them with fairness and honesty. My joy comes with riding my bikes. Newbury Park was a huge disappointment; but this is all the time I have for them.

I feel bad because I should have wrote this review months ago when I got my bike back from the…read moreshop, but I just want to say, this is a wonderful shop. Tony is super nice and very helpful. I took my bike in that I hadn't been able to ride in years because the tires would not stay in the rims no matter what I did. Plus thanks to the lovely thorns and stickers through out my neighborhood one of the tires was flat anyways. I took the bike there specifically for that because I wanted to start riding again and I am not a bike expert. I have to say, he went above and beyond. He gave my bike a full tune up and even cleaned it up for me. It was dirty and dusty, the chain was slightly rusted from being in storage for so long. He also put new tubes and tires on the bike and some how managed to figure out how to fix the issue of the tires not staying in the rims. Also I didn't know but I guess I had something wrong with the break cords which he also fixed. He did all that for a very reasonable price. I think one of the coolest parts of it all was my dad helped me take it to the shop because it's a big bike and wouldn't fit in my car and Tony actually remembered us because my dad would take my siblings and I to his shop when we were all young kids and wanted a bike. His shop used to be located in a different part of town back then. I just thought that was so cool. Then my mom actually took me to go pick it up and the three of us ended up chit chatting for a while. I love that the owner of the shop is so personable and I respect the fact that he has his kids working there to learn the value of hard work. I would definitely recommend this place. It's an honest family business. As a side note, I noticed this says it's on Harvard blvd. not sure if that's another location or if it moved, but the shop I went to is across the street from Isbell Middle School. I am pretty sure I left a review for the right shop though.
