After buying an e-bike online that I returned for a refund, I bought a step thru ebike. It was refreshing to shop at DogLeg. Robyn and TJ are great, no pressure, very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend DogLeg. It is local, you can see what your buying, you can test ride it, you make adjustment just for you. When buying online, you have to assemble, you have to fix/replace, you have to take what see online. No help, no advice. You have to do everything. lf you're not mechanical, you have to pay for it. My husband and I bought 2 electric bikes a couple years ago from Doglegs. They were very knowledgeable about the bikes they sell and super helpful in getting into bikes that would meet our needs. We were so excited about getting electric bikes and we're allowed to test drive several. Fast forward to this summer when one of our batteries went out. The battery needed to be ordered and shipped. Needless to say with all the shipping craziness the battery took a while to get to us. Robin was very apologetic and provided us with a loaner battery until we could get ours. I love love love my bike. Thanks Robin and JD, you guys rock. For years I did long distance riding. Then I was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis in 2007. ( Progressive Hardening of the lungs). Eventually I had to give up riding. I could not produce enough oxygen to ride. I felt like I part of me died making that decision. Years have passed and I struggle everyday to live a normal life. Although PF is terminal and there is no treatment I have managed to keep going. I now have two grandsons who love bike riding. I bought an old Schwinn that I could ride around the church parking but you know how kids are. They wanted more than a parking lot. That's when I started checking into ebikes. I looked at many bikes. I wasn't sure I wanted to spend money on another bike that I couldn't ride. I finally took an ebike for a short ride. I was sold. I mean really sold. I wish I had found Dogleg bikes years ago. Robin and JD are super friendly, very helpful and extremely knowledgeable. I really can't say enough great things about them. I don't think they realize what they have done for me. My stepson purchased his DogLeg 36 volt E-Bike back in September 2020 and he is enjoying riding from home to work and back (about a 6 mile ride). The bike runs smooth and has never left him stranded. I am a small, fit, 68 year-old woman who would rather ride a bicycle than drive a car. When I began having trouble getting up the steep hill near our CA home in the summer heat, I started researching electric bikes. I wanted a reliable company, an easily replaceable battery (if I needed it later), and a bike that was neither too big, nor too heavy. I had seen Dogleg bikes in stores but they seemed big and cumbersome, so I was considering a kit to electrify my old English bike. Then someone pointed me to Robin, the owner of the Ventura-based company that offers Dogleg bikes. He recommended a specific model, adjusted the seat, and trucked it to my house so I could try it out on my own, right in my neighborhood. What could be better? The bike is fairly simple, but the gears and throttle take a little getting used to. The private time for experimenting made it clear that the bike would be good for me. When the standard issue lights didn't work, Robin replaced them the next day.
