We did the Mob Boss room, and it did NOT disappoint. It was just the two of us because the rooms are private, and I actually loved that. We were able to work together, figure out our individual strengths, and tackle the clues as a team. And guess what? WE ESCAPED! We had a few clues along the way, but we ended up solving the room with just under TWO MINUTES left on the clock! Talk about cutting it close! We were so proud of ourselves when we got out. Molly was the staff member who helped us get checked in, sign the waivers, and get everything set up. She was friendly and helpful and made the whole process easy. And they don't just send you on your way after you escape. They have props available for pictures, and Molly took some photos of us afterward. It was such a cute way to remember the experience. My sister had so much fun that she immediately wanted to do ANOTHER escape room. Unfortunately, they didn't have another opening that day, but they did give us information about rebooking and a discount for coming back. I also really appreciated that they offer discounts for first responders. My sister is an officer, so that's an especially nice perk. There are several escape-room options in the Frederick area, but I'm really glad this is the one we chose. It was fun, challenging without being frustrating, and a great experience for both a first-timer and someone who's done escape rooms before. We were actually about 5 minutes late and rushed there, but instead of making us feel stressed, they kindly told us to take our time and not worry about rushing. That small moment really showed how thoughtful they are. My family had such a great time, the kids were fully entertained and didn't want to leave. You can tell they really care about the experience they provide. No wonder they have a full 5-star rating on Google, which is rare to see. They truly deserve it. We will definitely be back!

Note that the last check in is at 11:00pm on the weekend (at least that's what they said via phone call). They almost didn't let us in but we mentioned that we were the ones on the phone. After we all checked in, we explored each of the room. Some were super difficult, some were "easy". Each room lets you know if it's more physical, mental, or team work/ communication. Because each room is timed, I felt like I was in squid game without the gore and anxiety from pending doom. We had some small hiccups as beginner users and they stepped in at exactly the right times to keep us on track and make everything go smoothly. They achieved the perfect balance of being attentive to us without being intrusive to the experience. We did the escape room at Rations Spaceport and had so much fun! Me and my friends all have January birthdays, which generally suck. The escape room was indoors, challenging, and engaging. We had a 13 year old with us who had a blast. It's family owned, and Sarah they build the physical rooms them selves (so creative and well done)....but oh yeah, they also have Virtual Reality escape rooms too (can't wait to try those). I know the singing and the flashlights could not be controlled by the staff, however it would be great if staff could verbally remind customers to take into consideration other customers. While we enjoy a challenging escape room, the biggest issue was that solving the puzzles didn't consistently trigger the sensors to move the game forward. Several times, we had the correct solution, but the room wouldn't register it unless we positioned pieces in a very specific way--such as ensuring a light blinked only once or flipping objects precisely to trigger a magnet. Instead of rewarding problem-solving, it felt like we were fighting with the mechanics of the room. An escape room should challenge players intellectually, not frustrate them with overly finicky sensors. If you solve a puzzle correctly, it should work--without having to repeatedly reposition items in hopes of triggering the lock. Unfortunately, this made the experience more tedious than fun. We wouldn't recommend this room unless the company improves its puzzle mechanics.

We booked this room because it was listed as their easiest room. The room itself was very interesting, as well as challenging. A lot of thought went in to the design of the room. The decor was interesting an laid-out well for a pretty small space. I wouldn't try this room with more than 6 people. It would be tight. Location of ER Loco was easy to find. Unfortunately, we didn't escape in the 1 hour but had a GREAT time anyway. We felt we had a pretty-smart crew going into the experience but failed to escape anyway. Our hostess at Escape Room Loco was VERY friendly and she offered us clues when needed (which was a lot). The experience inspired me to try an Escape Room again and I would definitely go back to Loco. Sorry, I'm not offering any clues for solving this room, but will offer 2 tips - bring your reading glasses (if you need them). Second, bring a small (good) LED flashlight to help see in this dark room. A cell phone flashlight probably won't be allowed. They provide each visitor a mini flashlight, but they're mostly ineffective. I hope they offer an easier room in the future for slower folks like me. Any shortcomings were on me this visit, so no deducted stars for this review!

I didn't know what to expect or how it works. As you walked in, there a waiting area on the right, a host on your left, fill a small questionnaire using a QR code. Once completed, you will be taken to a room of your selected escape, the host will explain the rules and you watch a short video then taken to your designated room which you have 60 mins to complete. It was a fun and mindful experience in which everyone should try it. Our host was Rocket, she was friendly, humorous, patient and knowledgeable. It is a great place to bring your entire family.
