The Society was founded in March 1932 and is the oldest exclusively model railroad club in the United States. They maintain 2,500 square feet of model railroad displays of steam and diesel freight and passenger trains and trolleys, plus so much more. It was fun to see all the parts of the display - it really gives you a glimpse into the history of railroading. It is not easy to find, as the doorway is tucked into the left front center of the building and the society is located on the third floor with no elevator. The display is normally open on the second Sunday of each month, except May.

The paths aren't clearly marked so you end up wandering aimlessly. There are sunken spots and areas where you can't tell if the ground is stable. There were random groups of people chanting right when we entered. The boardwalk toward the far end goes nowhere and there's nothing memorable or worth the walk to see. That would be an odd request since she got it while out on her deliveries and the only one that could make a request like that would be me. One of them laughed and said she (package carrier) does that sometimes where I told her that was a lie. Her response was "I know" while still laughing. This is crazy!!! Before this office moved the employees were older ladies and always courteous, kind, and helpful to the best of their ability. We are spiraling down the toilet fast!

From the beginning, the driver was late which put the family in panic mode. They had lots of luggage that needed to be loaded and the driver showed up 8 minutes late, which caused unneeded stress. Calls to customer service to check on the car were immediately put on hold and then disconnected. Rather than putting the family at ease, the dispatcher was rude, sarcastic, and dismissive and ruined the ride for the family. I later spoke with the manager & owner, thinking they would make it right, but instead, they made excuses and dismissed the complaints & concerns as "things that happen". The fact that this company puts themselves first before their customers and makes excuses for their own actions, speaks volumes about their lack of customer service & satisfaction. I do not recommend this company ever!

The quality and detail involved in the instruction here is superb - you feel like you're being given all of the information you need, from the basics to more complex properties of the helicopters. There was no point where I felt like the information was overwhelming or over-simplified: it seemed like the right mix of education and beginner's instruction. As for the flight, it's a blast! While I was far from talented at piloting the helicopter, I was given quite a lot of control over time, and I felt increasingly comfortable as time went on. I felt safe and monitored the entire time - even when a lot of wind blew the helicopter around, the instructor was available to make things right quickly and effortlessly. Needless to say, if you have the time and the money, give this place a shot!

He was very personable and knowledgeable. He pointed out various landmarks and places that we would be interested in seeing. We booked 2 pedicabs and were picked up from our hotel and my parents could pick what they wanted to see. Our tour lasted 4 hours and my dad (who is a Vietnam Veteran) had the chance to see the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. We also went by the courthouse that they got married at. Kevin and Read were very knowledgeable about the history of the city and we had so much fun with them. Traveling with elderly parents can be challenging and this tour made it so easy and enjoyable for everyone. I would highly recommend this tour as it's a relaxing way to see all that Washington DC has to offer.
