This place is Trash.... I ordered Catfish and Shrimp Lunch. The Shrimp was ok but dirty... didn't clean the poop out of it. The Catfish was Trash... I also had Red Snapper.. it was Trash too. The food is good here. My only complaint is about how hard or how soft I want my items fried. The catfish was seasoned well I just wish it was fried a little bit harder. But I realize it's all about taste texture for me and while some May like it softer, I like it with a little more crunch, but not dry. Was suggested this place by a friend. Place looks super sketchy outside BUT the fish (Catfish Fillet) was REALLY good! I got the lunch special with 3 pieces of Catfish, and it came with like 4/5 pieces of shrimp. Wasn't a big fan of the shrimps, fries were hard cooked.. I like soft fried. This place is very simple from the exterior but their plates offer great flavor. Well seasoned and cooked to perfection, this place was worth the wait. The sides we chose were French fries and the macaroni was recommended. Fries were very crispy as we like them. I believe the dinner roll was kings Hawaiian. Either way, not being from the area, but seeing the yelp reviews and all of the customers that came and went as we waited spoke volume. If I'm the area we would try something else on the menu. I USED to love this fish market. I used to eat there A LOT. With work, I haven't been consistently in the area for the past couple of months BEWARE I think they have new owners and new cook. Food is not the same and prices have increased tremendously. The new owner says they changed prices this past August.. I ordered the catfish and shrimp. I can't tell you how it tasted as I asked them to please cook my fish extra crispy (mind you I Always order as such) this time it seemed as though the fish was fried then steamed....... the crust was soft, as were the shrimp, we asked for my money back. read more

World seafoods is good. This is where my coworkers and I get our lunch on most Fridays as we have an unofficial Fish Fryday. The best thing according to them (locals and natives) is the catfish filet or the red snapper. I love the cat fish! The fish is fried very lightly and it does not come out super greasy (or greasy AT ALL) with some great flavor but not too much at all, where you can taste the FISH. It's good! The sides are not good, I've tried all of them a d the only OK side is the hush puppies. Don't get fries because they'll throw in some (a few, ok?) anyway with your order. Your order comes with a roll, tarter sauce packets, and some hot sauce. The service is great, the owners (super sweet Asian man and woman) are very friendly and even wrote down your exact pickup time on the number they give you once you order and pay. This place is always busy and three times as much on Fridays. Listen to me and CALL IN your order before driving over there. They'll provide you an exact time over the phone as well. There is a parking lot that gets super full and it's literally just for THEIR restaurant, so if it's ever jam packed, the street is ample too with parking. My honest opinion about the desserts is not to spend money on them, go for the fish. The fish is great, fresh, and they have really good specials. This is a regular fried fish place. They allow you to pay with EBT which is always a plus. There is a window for you to place your order and pay, no more coming inside to order. I always call in my order, just for convenience. I don't have any complaints on the fish. It's always cooked crispy and I feel like it's always seasoned good, to me. The woman who answers the phone is actually pretty nice, she's just very short with you on the phone. I'll continue to order from here. It's convenient, tastes good, accepts EBT and has free parking, what not can I ask for? LoL read more

I recommend CALLING IN AHEAD OF TIME if you're not a local to the area lol, even if you are a local to south central keep your head on a swivelI. (Free game) I ordered the 3 piece fish and shrimp plate and it def beat my expectations! Catfish is yummy, it's so tender that it easily pulls apart. I like the hush puppies but I've never had them before. Quick to pick up too, 15 minutes from calling. I only wish they made their own tartar sauce, but the hot sauce is good. read more

Updating my year old one star review. I've tried fish plates around LA and not none of them hit the spot like world fish used to. So Saturday, I thought I'd give it another try hoping the new owners had time to adjust. And I'm glad I did! I can't say it's back to the same as before, but it's close! My snapper/ shrimp plate was seasoned, fried hard the way I love it, buttery roll and seasoned macaroni salad. My eyes rolled back and I'm certain a tear fell. And while the staff was friendly enough, and again ( don't get me wrong it's still a place that I will be back to to purchase much needed product), it's just an unfortunate reality that sometimes no....you can't duplicate the past.
