Filet of sole.
Dwayne S.

This place is awful. First the fried sole I ordered was impossibly thin. What I mean is there is no way a piece of fish can be this thin without significant effort being put in to slice it thin. So, you're not getting a half of fish, you're getting a quarter of a fish. I'm going to include a photo of the fish crackers I was served. Second, I ordered 6 pieces of fish and was told that only one tartar sauce comes with it and that's have to pay for more. One tiny cup of Tatar sauce for SIX pieces of fish. Really? Third, the fish has barely any flavor. It's bland and bready. I don't come on Yelp a lot, but the level of mediocre here has to be addressed. Avoid this place at all costs.

This is 1 of the 3 strios i was given. All 3 were of this size. Extremely disappointed.

The fish is good but they serve you fish strips vs a piece of fish. I orded a 3pc. In the picture attached is what they consider a pc of fish.

Terrible customer service individuals.

Terrible customer service and disrespectful employees! I placed an online order today via Postmates. I walked to the restaurant to pick up my order and stood in their empty lobby around 4:30pm for about 5 minutes while they all goofed around in the kitchen, sang songs, and disregarded the front counter. Eventually a guy turned around and came over to assist me. After I told him I was there to pick up an online order he asked to see the info on my phone which I then showed to him. He goes "oh your phone says it's a postmates order, the order we have under your name is from Uber Eats" and I respond "not sure what that means, but I can show you where I paid on my credit card for this and the app where I placed the order" He then spoke to a woman co worker in Spanish and turns back to me and says "sorry I can't give you the order" and again I'm confused so I ask why. He says because the apps don't match, even though all of my information does. I tell him "maybe you don't know this but they're the same company" The entire crew then turned their backs and ignored me at the instruction of the larger woman working in the kitchen. See pics provided. I wasted my entire lunch break dealing with this place and also had to dispute the charge on my credit card because I don't believe these employees are honest enough to refund it on their own once they eventually realize their mistake. I've been going to this place for over 20yrs but since they have new management they're terrible. I'll NEVER give them another dime and neither will anyone I know. Disrespectful to turn your back on a customer, ignore them, and start speaking in Spanish. As black people we need to stop supporting disrespectful businesses like this and I'll be spreading the word about them through my various community contacts.

Combo Dinner 5 (4pc fish, 8pc jumbo shrimp)

I was craving fried fish and was passing the Los Angeles area. I found this gem and was happy I did! This place sells fried, oysters, and shrimp fish plates. The place was open on a Sunday which is rare who friend fish markets. I got a 4 piece fish and 8 piece jumbo shrimp plate that automatic comes with two side cold coleslaw and fries with a dinner roll. There were other sides available for additional price! I paid under 25 dollars for great portion of food. I had enough to share. The service was not slow it took over half hour to get my food. So don't stop by if you're in a rush. The french fries were well seasoned but cold by the time I got it so that was disappointing! The place is small but it's in a shopping plaza so there is ample parking! No room to eat inside just to order and sit in the two chairs inside I was giving a buzzer and waited in my car! Food had great flavor and shrimp were large in size. The fish and shrimp were delicious for that alone I would drive from SFV to la just to get this again!

When I say this may be my new Spot! I door dashed an ordered for them yesterday. I said I would be back to try it out. At work today I door dashed an order to me from La Brea Seafood. The fish was on point, flavor was on a top notch scale! I will order again or show up in person believe that!! This place is a WINNER

I like this place. Fish is clearly always hot and fresh and seasoned well. I like that they make the tartar sauce it's not the little packets. I always order over the phone. Seems reasonably priced to me.

I walked in at 2 and it was empty but it was open so I opted to sit outside where there was a breeze. I ordered the lobster reef SVB and it was decent. I also ordered the tuna crispy rice, I wasn't expecting that much tuna on top of it. Also it wasn't like the many other crispy rice I had. If you're not completely comfortable with eating this amount of raw tuna, with zero sauce on it...I would skip it. But it was a generous portion. Ordered the mussels with extra garlic bread ($4.95) I knew I wasn't going to finish it but I love garlic bread for my curry sauce. The mussles itself was pretty big. Bigger than some places I have ordered at. The curry sauce was underwhelming for me. I seek out places that offers mussles without the traditional garlic white wine sauce. Curry is usually the 2nd option in most places. Although it had curry flavor. Something was missing. Maybe some spice or something. But I also love bolder flavors, so it might be perfect for everyone else. Overall, I got to try this place since it's been on my list. My bill was about $95 before tip. Street parking only, it would be difficult during dinner rush since there are several hot spots aceoss the street.

When we cracked the legs open, there was a thick, rubbery, shell-like layer wrapped around the meat. We assumed we had overcooked it, accepted our $350 lesson, and took it on the chin. Against my better judgment, I returned and spent nearly $385 on 2 five-pound bags of king crab and a bag of shrimp. The shrimp were fine. The crab? Same problem. Initially, I steamed a few legs for about 10 minutes and thought, "Okay, maybe I overcooked it again." Thankfully, I had only removed what I planned to eat and kept the remaining legs frozen. Today, I decided to test that theory. I removed three legs, steamed them for 5 minutes.... Literally set my timer for 5 minutes and what do you know, same exact result. As the pictures show, this is not the crab's normal thin membrane. The hard outer shell literally separates from a second, soft shell underneath it, leaving very little edible meat. I paid for king crab, not an expensive scavenger hunt for actual crab meat. At these prices, customers should not be sold poor quality, double-shelled crab legs. After spending more than $700 here across 2 visits and having the same issue each time, I'm officially done conducting experiments. This market has had multiple opportunities, and unfortunately, the crab failed every time. 3rd time's a charm because there definitely won't be a 4th

First off, parking is rough. The restaurant is located in a small shopping center with several other businesses sharing the same lot, so finding a space can be a challenge. Sometimes it's easier to park down the street and walk over. This also isn't really a sit-down-and-enjoy-your-meal kind of place. It's more of a grab-your-food-and-go spot. The reason I'm starting to feel differently is because the last few visits haven't been as consistent as they used to be. I remember seeing the owner around much more often, and the food quality seemed better. Lately, the fries have been darker, the fish portions sometimes feel a little small for the price, and it occasionally seems like the frying oil isn't being changed as often as it should be. The service is okay, but it's not always the friendliest. One thing I've noticed is that when I ask for the fresh house-made hot sauce instead of the prepackaged packets, it sometimes feels like I'm inconveniencing the staff, especially one guy in particular. Maybe that's not the intention, but it can come across that way. That said, I keep coming back for a reason. The fish still has great flavor, and I enjoy several of the sides. The mac and cheese is probably my favorite, the collard greens are solid, and the fries are satisfying when they're fresh. I'm hoping this place can get back to the consistency that made me a regular in the first place.

We have always made her food fresh every day, but one day she decided, this steak is not for me, burger, shove it. She even refused chicken. I went on line and talked to friends who said get her deer, and kangaroo. Okay, so I searched and found Wild Fork. I ordered on line because I had no idea they were down the street from me. We cooked it up and she is eating again. We then went there and had the best service you can imagine. Fila knew everything from fat content to calories. We bought Elk, Kangaroo, chicken with all the parts in it, Bison and Venison. Heidi, the dog is in heaven. It all looked so great, we decided to try it. Bison burgers are great. Venison burgers are great. I did not love the Kangaroo, but my husband did and the Elk is just so tasty. And all of it is healthy and you can freeze it for months or just defrost and cook. We can't wait to try their seafood and steaks, but right now it appears we are on the dog's diet. We could not be happier with this place and now go every week. Thank you so much Fila for being so kind and patient. I think my husband has a wee crush. That's fine, Heidi will trade him for meat any day of the week. This is a must stop.

Most of these dishes are easier to find while traveling through exotic regions. Now when I'm home in LA and dining at a French restaurant, I ritualistically order escargot with my bordeaux. Subconsciously, I love the way those two rhyme and how well they go with freshly churned French butter and crusty bread. And ever since Cafe Beaujolais in Eagle Rock permanently closed their doors a few years ago, I've been missing my go-to dish served with crusty bread and an authentic accent. Sure, I've eaten at Monsieur Marcel many times and many years ago, but this stroll through the Farmer's Market opened my eyes to something I never noticed before - escargot on ice. Yes, I got giddy. TAKE HOME & BAKE 225℉ for 10 minutes. It's that simple. The service counter was helpful & clean so I felt like I was in good hands. Truth be told, I don't think I've enjoyed escargot this fresh before. Not even in Paris! Perhaps it's the way they're prepared or just that they're top-notch in quality, but the snails were delicately soft and not one bit rubbery. The buttery garlic filling was muah, délicieux. On your way out, don't forget to swing by Michelina Los Angeles for fresh, crusty French bread to sop up all that garlicky-buttery yumminess. WHAT A DEAL Just $1.89/each. If it wasn't for the calorie content of the butter, I'd probably order a full dozen all for myself. I'll have to give their caviar, bay shrimps, and snow crab claws a try next time. I'm sure they're worth their price in terms of freshness. FUN FACT Although Monsieur Marcel serves New Orleans Shrimp, if you're an adventurous eater looking for Frog Legs, you'll need to go to The Gumbo Pot at the other side of the Farmer's Market for that particular Nawlins delicacy.
