Kind of a hodgepodge of items, everything from beer and wine to spices to home decor, a lot with an emphasis on a global sourcing of products. The prices were good and the service was friendly. It did seem that they could have put at least another person at the checkout, though the line moved at a decent clip. I eoukd definitely recommend that you come check this place out. read more

I shop at this store quite often. I appreciate the uniqueness of the products and the support that they provide to disadvantaged communities around the world. This particular location has the nicest associates employed by the company. I have never heard a no or felt as if my concern was not their concern. Best customer service EVER!!! I don't know how they manage to keep this store so well organized, beautiful and well stocked. I love this place for gifts. I also just love coming in here and looking at things. It's kind of expensive but not unreasonable. I will miss their sister discount store, Christmas Tree Shop :( I like to come in here and make gift bags some French soap, something personal depending on the person (book for readers, kitchen stuff for foodies, bath and pamper stuff for my girlie friends) finish it off with some nice European chocolate, a nice card and a cute bag and give it as a simple but super cute gift. Will cost around $25-$35. I also love receiving gifts from here. Some of the stuff from other parts of the world make me laugh because I know you can get them waaaaaayyyy cheaper at the Indian, Arabic, Asian and Latin stores but it's nice to see inclusion. Good selection but it's the same as every other World Market. Do people really buy furniture from here? Anyway, I wandered the imported candy aisles and got some that will be used for stocking stuffers. The beer and wine aisles were impressive with variety and styles of wine. The gal who rang up my purchase spotted a couple of my items and suggested something that would go with it well from the beer aisle. Great work. read more

This is a fun store to visit and has a great selection of wine and beer. It also has foods from various countries so if you are adventurous you might get to experience world cuisine without leaving your house! On a recent trip we got Angry Orchard, Not Your Father's Root Beer and a bottle of wine that was Halloween themed to take to a party we are going. There are also kitchen items and home decor items. The downsides for me were the prices which were okay, just not fabulous. Also, we bought some candy bars to try and when we got home I realized they were past the expiration date. : ( So be sure to check the dates on any food items you buy. Overall, a good experience. First off, the selection of spirits is pretty darn good! This is a place if you are looking for that hard to find item...having said that... The prices are a little higher then your average store. It is the price you pay for convenience. I will say this though, if you have a hard time finding "not your fathers root beer" then this is your place. At 10.99 a six pack it is on par with other stores. When i walked in i was greeted by at least 5 cases of the root beer :) It will be a place i will revisit as it is hard to take all that they have in one trip. read more

So, I've actually never been to a World Market before. I'm really not sure why. This is a really cool store that has similarities to any other home stores. From furniture to artwork to kitchen supplies to food .... they have really cool uniques stuff that I haven't seen anywhere else. Great selection of shelving too. Really impressed and want to come back and take some extra time here looking around. Great spot to grab little gift bag goodies as well. They really have a little bit of everything. Prices range from not too bad to on the pricey side. But that being said, I really think they have a great selection and I would definitely be coming back here next time I need anything or the house to see what they have available. They also have a rewards program that you can sign up for. Staff is really friendly and checked to make sure we didn't need help with anything a few times while we were here. If you are doing any decorating, come check these guys out. read more

I can stay in World Market for hours!! I find it culturally fulfilling looking at the many offerings from abroad. They have two locations that are conveniently and strategically located here in the city. I often pick up several items that I can gift to people throughout the year. The young workers that they had working are extremely pleasant and willing to answer any and all questions that I had. I highly recommend giving them a whirl, you'll thank me later. read more

World Market is a treat of a store if you've never been. The kind of store it is, literally is described by its name... It's a Market for all things worldwide! I feel there are 4 main sections to this store... Furniture, Home Decor, Food, Wine&Beer (with Seasonal as a bonus). I'm not big on shopping per se, but I do enjoy coming to this store. Always something a little fun going on. If you look carefully, for various items (food/candy, beer/wine, furniture) you will notice that you're provided with descriptions of what parts of the world items are from and some brief background on cultural things that are related. You're bound to learn something new! Also, take advantage of the rewards program called World Market Explorer. Rewards and extra coupons (and even free coffee)!! Why not be gifted if you're going to shop here anyway?! Only downsides if there are any would be the store layout... it can be kinda tight. Almost as if the store needs a little extra square footage. Also some things may be a bit pricey... depending on what your annual income is I suppose lol. All in all, great store for exotic "stuff"! read more

I just love, love, love going to World Market...they have all kinds of wonderful going on in there! I always find myself amazed by the international goodies that fill their shelves, and come home with waaay too much, but just can't find it within myself to regret it! The store is "chaotic" in its layout, but that's part of the fun of being there; finding your way around through the maze of unique and exotic items. The staff is always pleasant and, most of the time, very helpful with a search for a particular item. I say, "most of the time" because my trip last weekend proved to be one of the "not" times. I am tragically uneducated with wines, regular and sparkling (so I do take part of the blame), so I asked for assistance to purchase a sparkling rosé for an upcoming special occasion. I had previously been assisted by an employee with that request, and came home with THE perfect selection; however, as that was about five years ago, I didn't remember the brand. I was given two choices, one with a higher recommendation (because it was sweeter). I was careful to ask, "and, this is the same thing as Champagne, just a different region?" I was assured that it was. I made my purchases and headed home, excited with my new find, and hoping it would be just as marvelous as my last one. When a friend came by and I showed it to her, she blew my bubble totally away when she told me that it WASN'T a Champagne OR a sparkling wine....no celebratory bubbles would be coming from THAT bottle! I was embarrassed and REALLY aggravated! If the sales person had not known what she was talking about...or had had ANY doubts about it at all, she should have told me such. :o( I'll forgive them because I love the store so much, but that was a really BAD no-no in my book. Lesson: if you're just fun-shopping, go hog wild; but if you're after something specific, do your homework and don't rely TOTALLY on the staff. read more

So happy to have this in Hoover. If you're looking for something unique but you can't necessarily find anywhere else this is your place. Being a lover of International selections for coffee and wine I'm a huge supporter of this place. If I were to enjoy snacks as much as I used to this would also be my stop. Anytime I'm looking for a gift that is a little different yet useful I always find it here. They have a really cute section of coffee mugs that vary from animal lovers,silly, or sophisticated. Sometimes I come here without intending on buying anything so just to look around at all the neat stuff that they might have but can't help myself and typically walk out with something. I'm impressed with their selection of sweaters and scarves going on right now and at a very good price. The only downside to this place would have to be the furniture selection. I really can't see the value in the selection I've always had very friendly Customer service and prompt help when I asked for it. They have a long time customer out of me :-) read more

This store has a wide variety of.....stuff. I don't know how my wife and I ever end up here looking for something but we do and we seem to find it. Some furniture, some nick-cacks, and even some dodads. It is a neat store with a friendly staff so you should really check it out so you at least know what you could or could not find there. read more
