I stopped in last month (Dec 16) with my local friends while visiting the islands. I love the World Market, it has such variety and the prices are reasonable. I wasn't really looking for anything, my friend was shopping for pasta shells and sauce that she likes from here. I happened upon a bag of lime tortillas chips, which turned out to go perfectly with my leftover guacamole from Cinco's Grill. I also found some precious 'Dog Mom' slippers for my daughter who lives in Beaufort. And topped it off with a nice bottle of wine to share with my Bluffton buddy, who graciously played my hostess during my stay. The store was organized well and clean. The staff were available, even though they were busy and friendly. I'm sure I'll be back during my next visit and will find other unique items that I'll love! read more

2nd incident of poor customer service in Bluffton, SC. After shopping for a short time, a kind store representative asked if I was finding everything OK and that the store would be closing in 2 minutes. I immediately agreed to proceed to check out and thanked him as there was no overhead announcement and I was not aware they would be closing (holiday weekend). As I approached the cashier (checking out a customer already), an older female comporting herself as manager, stated the store was closed and I would not be able to check out. I responded then that I would just not make a purchase, I laid the items down and immediately went to leave the premises. She stated, "Are you with him?" A younger male still checking out, I replied no, then I was informed I could check out if I still wanted to. I had to return to retrieve my items and wait in line for a few more minutes until the customer was finished paying. I told the manager what the store representative shared about the store closing in a couple of minutes, she immediately responded with, "I told him that more than 5 minutes ago." As if I was not being truthful with what he said and that I immediately did not respond. Why was I being discriminated against? I couldn't check out but the male could check out-she saw him while speaking to me? It took less than a minute to walk to the front of the store after being told of the closing, the doors were opened when I came in, there were no announcements, and how about ask if I needed help checking out instead of being rude and refusing me a check out? Then the nerve, to tell me to come back again. The first incident, same-asked several people for help and no one would help me. No more World Market-I'll go o Big Lots where the cashier was much nicer. read more

4 stars for this CPWM because they had a lot of samples out this past Saturday. All of these stores are the same. It's not a bad thing. I love uniformity in retail. I love to go here for odd candy and soda. read more

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this store! It will be a happy day when World market opens in the Northeast. This store is home goods crossed with the eclectic style of pier one with great prices. If I could furnish my entire home with their stuff, I would. However, they don't deliver up stairs in a walk-up. Very sad! So far I have purchased a table, bar, curtains and a chair for my apartment. Whenever I'm in the south I stop in for great wine, chocolate, specialty foods and their spices. You must check one out for yourself! read more

Yay for World Market!!! Sadly, we don't have a World Market in Pittsburgh, so anytime that my husband and I travel, we make sure to stop by one. Well, this location did not disappoint, and we walked out with well over $100 in products from Mother's day gifts and little floral notebooks to beer. The cashier mentioned that World Market may be expanding ever since Bed Bath & Beyond bought them last year.... I know that I've got my fingers crossed for one nearby me in PA! read more

We have been shopping here for years. We ordered chairs several weeks ago at the 40% off rate. The cashier scanned the 40% off code on my phone and told us the sale would be honored when the chairs came in and we paid for them. I told her that was critical since my husband would be picking them up and he does not have access on his phone to the CPWM codes. Our invoice stated that the 40% would be honored. When my husband went to pick them up and pay today, after waiting In line for 15 minutes he was told he needed the code. Frustrating to say the least and the manager had to be called in to resolve the situation. Lots of time wasted. When I called the manager to discuss, the conversation was less than professional. She would not listen and insisted that everything was fine since we got the 40% off. She ended up hanging up on me. Needless to say, I was shocked at the lack of understanding and willingness to learn from this experience. I won't be shopping there again. read more

I was in Bluffton visiting from out of town and this was my second trip to the world market. Had a great experience. The lady back by the wines was very helpful in pointing out which were special deals and which were ones that you cannot get elsewhere. The girl at the register helped me and my friend both get signed up for the rewards program and made sure we got the various discounts we were entitled to. We feel we got very good bargains particularly on the wines. The only downside was that the Internet connection wasn't working well there--possibly due to the product the roof was made out of. One of the sales people did confirm that people have trouble with the Internet in the store. I was trying to access my Vivino app on my phone to check the wines and I was not able to, even standing out front. Now that I am signed up for the rewards program I plan to come back and also to shop online possibly even for furniture. read more
