She's Hawaiian sunshine in human form, always upbeat, which definitely helps at 7 a.m. Her happy-go-lucky energy is so constant I can't decide if she's my trainer or just a very cheerful Energizer Bunny in disguise. She's also dedicated, always learning the latest fitness research to fine-tune my workouts. She helped me get stronger, and now we're tackling weight loss. But don't think it's all serious science--sessions with her are also comedy shows. She'll get distracted, lose count of my reps (always when they're the hardest ), and then showers me with a nonstop chorus of "Good job! Good job!" until I finally give her the side-eyes . But here's the thing: even with the chaos, Chermayne knows exactly what she's doing. She motivates me, keeps me accountable, and somehow makes sweating buckets feel fun. Having…read moreadhered to his personalized training regimen and diet, I have since lost 63 lbs. over six months and have gone from never deadlifting in my life to pulling four plates off the floor. I still ride that adrenaline high! Personally, I have been fat and sedentary my whole life, peaking in adulthood where my job as an accountant solidified my inactive lifestyle. Coupled with the physical and mental implications of the pandemic, my health was at an absolute low. Cue Charles. Charles is a very observant and knowledgeable person. Never having experienced personal training, his ability to pinpoint various weaknesses in my positioning and movement and then subsequently correcting them was like magic to me. His simplified explanations also made following his regimen incredibly easy to adapt to. He knows when to push the limits and when to bunker down to make sure something is being done correctly to avoid injury. Through his careful observation and guidance, he was able to recognize and develop my latent strength (which I didn't even know I had), and it culminated in that four plate deadlift! I had only wanted to lose weight, so this newfound strength is a pleasant and welcome surprise! Another boon I hadn't expected when I started working with Charles is the ability to have a conversation with him about health fads and myths. For example, I had my doubts about the diet of salmon, meat, potatoes, eggs, and bread he had recommended to me since my own research spoke highly of chicken, but the result speaks for itself. Adhering to his diet, I have exceeded my original weight loss goal of 60 lbs., and based on the fitness app he has me use, my muscle mass, skeletal muscle, and protein levels (amongst other things) have had a steady positive trend while my cholesterol and glucose levels, based on a recent physical, have had a negative trend! I know that the success in my nascent fitness journey is my own, but I recognize that my progress is heavily influenced by Charles and his supportive expertise. I am a genuinely happier, more motivated, and more confident person these days. I look forward to my continued training sessions. I can't help but think about what I can achieve in the future, especially when the results I have now are only the result of six months!

Truthfully, I was scared and babying my knee, and I started to gain weight. I joined ClassPass to try out different studios and gyms. I had actually tried Basecamp back when it first opened in Burlingame, and it terrified me--but I decided to give it a second chance, and I'm so glad I did. I took my first few classes through ClassPass and eventually decided that when my membership ended, I was going to sign up and become a member. Wendy was amazing at explaining everything thoroughly, and everyone there is so welcoming. They even knew my name before I knew theirs--it kind of felt like Cheers: "Where everybody knows your name" (lol). Every single coach I've interacted with or taken a class has been nothing short of amazing. Jerileen, Lacey, Alicia, and Angeline: they'll never know how much they've motivated me and how much of an impact they've had on my health, fitness, and recovery.     Kip is hands-down the best personal trainer I have ever worked with. As an aging (55+) "weekend…read morewarrior", I had been struggling with a host of random injuries, many of which sidelined me for months. Physical therapy helped me limp back onto the court or on the bike, only to quickly injure myself again. Kip stepped in and carefully catered a strength training program for me to help address my vulnerabilities and goals. I have strength trained in the past, but found myself plateauing quickly and/or injuring myself in the effort. I have never seen the level of results that I have experienced with Kip's program. Every workout with him has been different; he has an innate ability to mix things up while focusing on the whole body and the overall plan. He listens well, helps me work around injuries and is a great motivator. With the same amount of workout time, i am getting 2-3x the results. My athletic performance on the court has gotten a huge boost, I feel better and I look better. Kip even helped me acquire equipment for my home/garage workout area so that i can more easily keep the program rolling, in spite of a busy schedule. Highly recommend!!!
