I've referred so many people to Body 20 however when ! canceled my membership with the general manager as my schedule didn't allow me to come in twice every week they continued to bill me $400/month. I had to call/text every month and had to wait over a week for a refund. For some reason 5 months after I cancelled they re-instated my membership without any notice or authorization to do so and charged me $400 twice and when I called to get it refunded they showed no urgency and after 5 days the $800 has still not been returned or even initiated on their end. The General Manager - Carson's response was "I recommend contacting your bank directly" however my local credit union has told me it hasn't even been initiated on their end. I should add that I have several years of banking management experience and the moment they initiate the refund and it processes in their system the receiving bank would see it as pending and the receiving bank could hold it for 3 days. I think Body20 is great however it's not a very affordable gym and would definitely use your discernment with their billing system as it has been a persistent issue and the staff is very attentive to you until it comes to billing or mistakes they made.

I've been a Genesis member for about 3.5 years, and unfortunately, the Ridgeview location in Olathe…read morehas been a consistent disappointment. The only reason I've maintained my membership is because I'm a tennis player and regularly use other Genesis locations like 110th and Merriam. Ridgeview, however, is closest to my home, so I still visit in the mornings - and nearly every visit highlights ongoing issues that have never been resolved. To be fair, the staff is actually one of the bright spots. Most of them are attentive, friendly, and genuinely seem to care about members. The few who were not up to par are no longer there. This makes the situation even more frustrating, because the front-line staff is doing their part, but the overall facility conditions don't reflect their effort. Cleanliness is a major problem. The locker rooms, showers, and steam room are consistently dirty. I've personally seen trash, hair, and even toilet paper scattered across the steam room surfaces. The showers are regularly filthy, and the hot tub is frequently in unacceptable condition - cloudy, green, and foul-smelling. On one occasion, I tested the water myself and found zero chlorine or proper chemical balance, which is frankly unacceptable for a facility that markets itself as "luxury." Even basic amenities like towels are an issue. They are often stained, worn out, and sometimes visibly tattered - not what you expect from a premium-priced club. Equipment is another major problem. On any given day, it feels like only about 60% of the machines are actually functional. Broken cardio equipment, damaged weight machines, and even unsafe conditions - like equipment missing seats but still left on the floor for use - are common. It's not just inconvenient, it's dangerous. What's most frustrating is the lack of response or accountability from leadership. I've emailed staff, spoken with management, and even reached out higher up - and nothing changes. My most recent email detailing the condition of the steam room didn't even receive a response. There was recently a promise posted throughout the gym that new equipment would be installed by the end of Fall 2025. Those signs quietly disappeared in early January, and now the explanation is that they are "waiting on new flooring." This has reportedly been the excuse for years, and at this point it's hard to take seriously. This location is marketed as a premier Genesis club, but it falls well below the standard of other gyms in the Kansas City area. Even other Genesis locations, like the 135th Street club, are significantly better maintained and updated. At the end of the day, you're paying a premium price for what should be a high-end experience - and this location simply does not deliver. If you're considering a gym in the area, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Lifetime Fitness, while more expensive, at least delivers on cleanliness, maintenance, and overall quality.

Think Twice! I can…read moreonly speak from my perspective, not that matters to the management of this money grab operation. I was pressured into "discount--soon to expire pricing" for ill-conceived amenities I told them I did not need. -my bad for agreeing. Shortly after joining, equipment I needed was often broken and left as such for as long as I had been going. The AC broke and a lousy work around was put in that did not address the over heating problem. I often had to go hunting for towels, and nearly no one was cleaning their nasty sweat of of the equipment after use. I stopped going and asked to be let out due to these reasons, but of course all I got was "sorry it's policy that you have to pay an absorbent cancellation fee totaling the same the same amount as if I kept the contract. I'm not sure management has their customer in mind. I saw no one using their so called amenities, not once, I wonder why??? Perhaps it is because it is a f façade, designed to lure in customers and trick them into over paying for service. When my contract was coming to an end, they wouldn't even let me put in early notice to cancel at the end of term. No, I had to wait until a very specific day to give 30-days notice to avoids paying for extra months. Then when I called up there I was promised over the phone I would have the extra month waved, which of course was an empty promise just like everything else this place claims to offer. There are much better options out there. I encourage you to seek them out.

This is…read morea group fitness gym however each person has their own workout plan carefully created by Dustin, the workout programmer. (If you ever want to get nerdy about workout programs and exercises, Dustin is your guy.) I'm the kind of person who can get overwhelmed by details and is seemingly incapable of following a workout plan if left to my own devices. Move Right KC keeps things simple for me. I walk into the gym, get started on my breathing exercises and then do the workouts my trainers tell me to do. There's no thinking on my part, just doing. And thank goodness for that because I workout at 5:30 a.m. and once argued about which way is left and right. Unlike other group workouts where everyone is forced to do the same workout until the timer goes off, Move Right KC creates individual workouts for each member specific to their needs, activity level and goals. Here's the breakdown of a typical Move Right KC workout: - 5 minutes of breathing exercises - quick warm up with everyone doing the same moves - grab a tablet loaded up with your workouts and head to the weight room - all of the equipment you need is already set up, the trainer goes over the moves with you, makes sure you have correct form, tells you when to move onto the next set of exercises - everyone moves into the other room to complete a cardio round of fast-paced workouts -chill, you're done The workouts are limited to 6 people. Usually there's 1-2 trainers assisting and guiding everyone. You book which sessions you want through a third-party app. Because I workout at 5:30 a.m., sometimes no one else is there with me so I get personal one-on-one training with the trainers. Yes! And they are so accommodating to play whatever music I like so lately we've been listening to a lot of 90's rap and hip hop (think Notorious B.I.G. and Ice Cube). You can tell when the next group comes in because the trainers will change the music to whatever the old fogies like (I say this with love because I used to workout with that group). Important: The trainers at Move Right KC are kind, friendly people who genuinely want to get to know you better. This is a smaller gym where you get to know everyone's name. The owner is super friendly and hosts free training workshops and programs to help us better understand our bodies and improve our lives. The space is clean and nicely decorated. Equipment is up-to-date. No shower. Bottom line: If you have physical goals and want a no-fuss plan to get you there, the folks at Move Right KC are right for you.

This new approach is the first one that intrigued me (no offense, Tim.) having developed some pain issues from my body moving wrong, I decided to give this a try. He, Dustin and the whole crew are on to something special. Highly recommend. I feel and look stronger, can run again without pain and consider the hour three times a week I spend in the gym one of the most fun hours of my week. Never thought I'd say that about a workout.
