The staff at Kohl's blood draw was the Worst experience I have ever had and I've had hundreds of…read moreblood draws I hope I ne er go back there. There is NO empathy, no smiles, no caring. The 2 ladies were clearly unhappy with their jobs or totally burned out. I see so many negatives and yet, St. Peters is doing NOTHING to change this. I hope never to return here. There are so many other blood draws. Dont come here. Ugh. Disgusted with St. Peters and Bender Labs. Shame on you!!!

I went into the Kohls' location first thing in the morning for a blood draw. There were two…read moreemployees present, a younger woman and an older woman. They were loudly shouting back and forth from one end of the office to another. At first it was just pleasantries. Unprofessional, for sure, but I just wanted to get the blood draw done quickly. The younger employee began complaining about the codes that were listed on my blood draw order. She yelled to the other employee that the codes were incorrect and that "these doctors just don't care." Then she shouted my doctor's name, a well respected member of the medical community, and said "he should know better." I was shocked. The other employee asked her who the doctor was. She shouted his name even louder. The older employee then shouted "He's old. He should retire!" I was appalled at the lack of respect for a member of the medical community and for me, his patient. I had never experienced this type of unprofessionalism in a medical facility. I was going to retrieve the work order and leave when the younger employee called me in and said they were not going to be able to draw my blood because there were incorrect codes on the order. I took the order and quickly left the office. When I got home, I emailed Patient Experience at St. Peter's Partners. Within a half hour I received a response from the coordinator apologizing for what I experienced and assuring me that the incident was being referred to management and to Human Resources. A half hour later, I received a phone call from the woman who supervises all 14 St. Peter's labs. She reviewed the facts with me and then said she was on her way to have a discussion with these two employees. She said that this type of unprofessionalism would not be tolerated. She was appalled at the statement of my doctor being too old and should retire. I am grateful that St. Peter's responded quickly to this incident. Hopefully they will take action to make sure that no customer ever has to endure this type of unprofessionalism again. I appreciate their apologies, but I will never set foot in this lab again. And I had been a steady customer there since they opened. This is how you lose business.

My wife was sick and not feeling well and there was very clearly 0 empathy. Today - I called ahead to make sure they administered flu shots here because that's what I needed (phone call experience was fine. The lady who answered the phone clearly didn't know a whole lot but she got the information I needed from someone else in a timely manner). I walk through the doors and I am IMMEDIATELY met with attitude from whoever was training the girl at the front desk (who was clearly the new person I spoke to on the phone earlier). Glasses, leopard print and a ton of attitude doing her best Fran Drescher impersonation shouted at me literally not a second after I walked in the door "You can have a seat there's plenty of people ahead of you in line right now!" Didn't even ask why I was here. I have time today so it's not a big deal but I just recall the last experience my wife had and thought about how obnoxious that would have struck me if I were actually sick or not feeling well. If anyone from priority one reads this just remember. Sometimes the people who come to you are genuinely sick. Empathy and a caring attitude goes a long way maybe wait to judge and give attitude till you know what's going on with that person. I've worked in healthcare for 25 years and that's something a lot of healthcare workers lose sight of and get jaded to over the years (myself included). Be kind. You are prolly seeing a lot of people on what is a really bad day for them and as busy as you are... I'm sure they don't wanna be there.
