I sent out a project request to replace the bathroom door and Chase (Handymax) responded. One of the major project he did for me is to replace both my air ventilation in both my bathroom fan. They both had given up and it's just flat out old so it was time to upgrade. He did a fantastic job on those 2 units. I also got him to redo my bathroom tub caulking . The previous guys claim over 9 years of lifetime, it was less than 10 months. So don't buy into those who offer these crazy lifetime on your bathroom caulking. TK did my tub caulking and told me the truth, "maybe a year " he said which is exactly what I got from the previous people that claimed 9 years ‍. I'm already looking at a few new smaller projects for him to get started soon. I just want to pile it up so I can take up an entire day. I will be using TK soon!

To Crystal, the business owner of Ace Handyman Services- if you must try to unpaint yourself out of…read morea corner, then know that I will certainly respond. EVERY TIME. Yes I "fired" (not sure why that was in quotes- that's what I did) a contractor who told me our tiny bathroom would be finished in 5 days tops. Because the other bathroom is only a powder room, we already had to shower at the cabana at our condo complex. One worker was sent who started at 9, left for a good 2 hours to go to Home Depot to buy supplies for other customer jobs (all my supplies were pre-bought) and left at 3:00 every day. My husband took a week's vacation to sit in the condo while the bathroom was being worked on and after the 5 days was over, he was not even close. We were then asked to leave our key under the mat so someone could work while we were gone. We reluctantly did this, only to find our key under the mat when we got home, and finding that no one had showed up. That was DAY 12! And the shower mixer wasn't installed correctly, so the water barely got lukewarm. I had to call a plumber to get that fixed, and was lucky enough to call Evan from ProMax Water Heater who walked me through the repair on the phone and I fixed it myself. That guy is the absolute best!!! (Check out my review of Evan from ProMax- he's AMAZING). So YES CRYSTAL, I fired that company. Jeesh. Now, back to you. There was no leftover tile work. The guy set the baseboards and didn't grout them. I finished it myself and it wasn't hard. Now, if you needed to send a tile "expert" to grout 4 feet of baseboard then I'm not sure you understand what grouting 4 feet of baseboard entails. My bathroom needed someone to finish the drywall work. Period. I've explained that several times, so I'm surprised in all your meticulous note-taking that you are still completely confused by that. I did not need a tiling pro- I needed a really decent drywall guy, or maybe I needed the King of Drywall- I don't know, check your notes... And as for all my "really specific" timeframes, I had 10 days off for the holidays. I was told it would take all of 2 days to complete this little job (including draping plastic over the toilet and vanity, which I calculate would take 5 minutes if your guy was also a plastic-draping expert too). There would be one day in between for the mud to thoroughly dry, so 3 days total. I'm a pretty fast learner, so no, I wasn't going to leave the key under the mat again- I had 10 days off and was told the job could happen during that time. If it was such a heartache for you to schedule around the holidays because employees want to take time off, then here's what I would've said, "We'd love to take a look at your job, but we won't have anyone available until after the New Year." See how easy that is? Clients have the right to expect excellent, transparent, professional communication. I am not being difficult in my request that work done IN MY HOME is conducted during a time that works best for me. That doesn't make me high maintenance, it makes me organized.

BJ is just starting out and I was one of his first customers. He really got it right so I'll be…read moreusing him again. As you can see below, he has a lot of skills and was not challenged by anything I threw at him. Since he is new in the game, I started him out by having him do some minor repairs, replacing a sink faucet, installing a new TV on the wall, fixing a door that wouldn't latch, etc. If I had tried to do these jobs, it would have taken at least a full day. He did it in just about an hour. He charged $50 an hour with no trip charge and at that rate, I think I got a great deal. It really isn't how high the hourly rate is, it is how much gets done in an hour. After seeing him work, I set him up with the big job, repairing my old cedar deck, about 300 square feet of rotten cedar planks. He removed and replaced about 2/3 of the decking and took care of buying and delivering the materials to my house. He shopped for the best price and went out of his way to locate more planks when Lowes ran out. Again, no extra charge for the service except for the labor time. He got the deck done in about a week. He showed up on time, worked steadily without time outs that would increase the labor charge, consulted with me when necessary, and did a really good job. Final thing was installation of four replacement windows and a toilet. This time, I ordered them myself and had him pick them up at the store. Just took a couple of days and once again, it was really good work. I hope this review gives you a good idea of his versatility.

The project was to replace a doorbell from a late 60s/early 70s intercom system with a wired Google Nest doorbell and to replace our old floodlight with a Nest floodlight. I spoke with two electricians who were either mystified by the situation or gave me bad abduct. Will came up with a plan to use the power supply from the intercom system for the transformer. He also installed a chime box and custom built a wood plate for the camera (the electricians told me that I would have to do that on my own and would just install the camera hanging by its wires). Moreover, the fee he charged was a fraction of what several other companies wanted. Will was punctual, professional, and he replied promptly to my messages.
