I have some teachers I do like and there are a few kids that actually treat me like a person, but other than that the kids here will judge you for anything. You're LGBTQ? You're getting bullied. I'm writing this review because this school is horrible, a lot of the students are just terrible human beings who think they are entitled to behave however they want. They are labeled "popular" because they are just straight up bullies to people who are "weird" or different from them. I'd also like to mention that these brats are favorited by many staff including the administrators. A genuine terrible human being could do one good thing and they'd be rewarded like crazy, all of the attention on them while the good kids get left in the dust. This has happened more than two times. The past three years I have spent here felt like hell and I am glad Im never coming back. I won't miss this school in the slightest. Edit: A lot of the kids here are plain dumb also. Some of the teachers don't know how to teach (Ahem, a certain math teacher in the 8th grade). I had to teach myself for most of the year, that's why my math grades have been lacking. Back onto the topic of dumb children, this school is infested with them. All they do is sit on their phone with their ear buds, then they get all surprised and mad when they fail. Since they are so dumb, they can't seem to grasp the idea of getting in trouble. They all respond with the same "What did I do?!". (The thing they did was be loud, knock down chairs, and be on their phone.)

My oldest son has displayed some behavioral concerns that requires more patience and constant redirection. I have been blessed that the teachers have been willing to step up to the challenge. There were several instances where it seemed the director at the time deliberately added to what I owed to the invoice because when I asked her about it, there would be no response. I have no problem paying, but you have to explain why $300.00 was added to the invoice. It wouldn't bother me, but that's like someone trying to get you out of character when you're just trying to support your child. There's very little leeway, and that's inappropriate. The Philadelphia Insurance contract I signed a few months after my child started was a bit strange. I looked up the company, and they literally had pedophilia insurance. I signed with caution. I'm not sure if I'm the only one who ever signed this or ever looked the company up because that is a major, blaring alarm. His teacher was excellent, but she hinted at a few things that were strange. Like, "They take money out of my check for the baby next door." She also talked about vomiting next to the director's desk. A few other things. She obviously put her all into teaching, so I thought it was end-of-day stress, and the director tried to get quite a few people out of character when they're not there for that. I don't know! I don't know y'all. My child did well, but it was quite bizarre and frustrating. I got way out of character, called "unprofessional" when I called the school. I tried to keep it about the bill, TRYING to forget everything else. I even went to the school, asked about the bill. She said she would send a link, and never sent it. I had a relative call and ask about the bill, she discussed it with him, said she would send a link after their 30 minute conversation, and did not send it. I found it a little disrespectful. I managed to get it rectified after ownership was transferred. At this point I'm not sure if the agreed upon amount had a horrible catch, or if it was from a sincere place.

The class sizes are small so the kids get more attention and time with the teachers. My son's organization skills, confidence, and determination have increased tenfold with Mrs. Christine and Mr. Josh. I even reviewed VA reports of each day care center. When I visited the school in person I was armed with my list of questions regarding activities and correction. All of my concerns were addressed by the schools director, Mrs. Marlene.She was able to competently and confidently answer all of my questions. Putting some of my worries at ease. My child has attended this school for the past 7 months and has flourished. Please notice I called it a school because The RISING STARS For Toddlers is not a daycare or playroom. They have outdoor classes, circle time discussions, music and so much more! The curriculum varies on your child's ability. The children have no clue they are learning and to them they are just enjoying toddler life. I receive weekly photos of my child's daily interactions, which I look forward to viewing with my little one. My son is recognizing letters, counting in Spanish, cleaning his area in the short time he has attended the school.
