This school is... something. As a student currently attending, it's just not a good environment. The kids in eighth grade don't exactly know how to behave and then get mad when they get in trouble and get referrals. I have some teachers I do like and there are a few kids that actually treat me like a person, but other than that the kids here will judge you for anything. You're LGBTQ? You're getting bullied. You like anime? You're probably getting bullied. You like k-pop and not Tyler, the Creator? (Yes, I have posted this on Google also. I just need to make sure people really see.) One star only because I have met really nice people here who I can call my best friends. I'm writing this review because this school is horrible, a lot of the students are just terrible human beings who think they are entitled to behave however they want. They are labeled "popular" because they are just straight up bullies to people who are "weird" or different from them. I'd also like to mention that these brats are favorited by many staff including the administrators. A genuine terrible human being could do one good thing and they'd be rewarded like crazy, all of the attention on them while the good kids get left in the dust. This has happened more than two times. The past three years I have spent here felt like hell and I am glad Im never coming back. I won't miss this school in the slightest. Edit: A lot of the kids here are plain dumb also. Some of the teachers don't know how to teach (Ahem, a certain math teacher in the 8th grade). I had to teach myself for most of the year, that's why my math grades have been lacking. Back onto the topic of dumb children, this school is infested with them. All they do is sit on their phone with their ear buds, then they get all surprised and mad when they fail. Since they are so dumb, they can't seem to grasp the idea of getting in trouble. They all respond with the same "What did I do?!". It is a great school (at least when I went in, 2020-2023), and the programs they provide are great! The teachers taught well, I meet many friends that I still talk to today, and I learned a lot! As long as you use their opportunities correctly, you can do well here! The only problem are the students. Due to the area around Graham park being a little "ghetto" and "poor", the kids the kids aren't the best. I think most of them were affected by the poverty cycle, so they may have been abused when they were young or just not cared about. As a result, the people that lived in the area usually bullied other people for being even somewhat different from their "friend group". It got to a point where they started to beat up other kids who were "weird" to gain popularity, which were most of my friends(although it started the last year I was there, so hopefully they stopped). This caused many police officers to watch the place so they could limit fighting. There were no gun threats, drugs, bomb threats, etc. when I went there. I think covid stopped that kind of stuff from happening. You should go to the school for the program, it provides many great opportunities! just be weary of the kids. (EVERYONE WRITE YOUR OPINIONS ON HERE) This place is iffy in my opinion, on one hand, there are some teachers there who really love their job and actually care about their students, I actually met a ton of people there who make me feel good about myself, thats the only good thing I can say about this school. The food, terrible, most of the time I leave the food untouched. The staff, iffy. Like I said, there are people who really do care about what they do, but thats a small amount. The rest of the teachers act like they're from the 1920's and get mad over really stupid things.The admin.sucks. How do you guys not do your jobs correctly?? This school sucks in terms of administration, safety, and students. Here at Graham Park Middle School, I had a wonderful time here only because of my friends and teachers. I've met some of the most wonderful people in this school and I am truly great full, but it has its cons and they are pretty bad. First off, the students that attend this school are HORRIBLE. I understand that middle school in general has weird cringy students but at Graham Park, it's worse. The students here do what ever the heck they want, most of the time they're on their phones, listening to music, disrupting the class, disrespecting teachers, to name a few. These same students are put in some sort of watchlist by the admins of the school, and when they do something that's slightly positive, they get a whole trophy, a candy bar, and student of the month. Completely ignoring all the other students who do follow the rules. This shows that administrators care more about troublemakers than normal students. This school also doesn't care enough about safety. I've seen a lot of fights over the years, and now it has decreased it's still an issue. Many threats go unaddressed and unnoticed. My experience here was okay but I will always cherish the wonderful memories I've made with my friends here. I know I've complained a lot but the only good thing here as a department in this school is the music department. I gained alot of knowledge being apart of the music program here at Graham Park, and it's pretty underrated. I wished the music department received more funding because it is vital for a persons success in school. Learning music and playing and instrument helps with development and in short, makes your smarter. If you are a parent or an adult wishing to enroll your child here, please enroll them in any music class. You will not regret it. My favorite music teacher is Mrs Sutton the choir director. I've learned a lot from her in terms of music and life lessons. She is one of not the best teacher in this school and I highly recommend enrolling in Choir. Her wisdom and guidance is priceless. The other music directors are good as well. Choose what you want, I'm pretty biased if you haven't noticed. Graham Park Middle School - The food here - Middle Schools & High Schools Near Me - Triangle, Virginia

This school is traumatizing, fights, teachers, staff, students, etc. I used to go to this school and would always be drained cause of this school. The lunch lady's are RUDE, they scolded me for saying there was hair in my food but said it was mines yet my hair isn't long. Another time was when me and my friend were playing around not doing much, but the lunch lady's started getting mad for no reason and saying "we're always starting stuff and that we're in a relationship" ?? First the girl is Muslim and I'm not into relationships and as well I am a good student and has done nothing much I've been always a relax student. They got staff on us and make us go into a corner where we can't talk, move, or even look at our friends and we would get yelled at. Teachers, half of the teachers were actually pretty chill, nice, and great teachers, but most teachers weren't. They would yell at students at a daily bases when the student wasn't "fast enough" or "talking". We would get yelled at for talking one time and now we're supposedly the bad students. Some of the staff were good people but the other ones weren't, I would hear constant yelling across from the hallway from them and they would be always threaten us with detention. Students here are alright, I've made great friends with them but the other half of the students would be yelling at 7 AM and started drama over chips. read more

The school is okay, it's the students that are the problem. One of them would be in multiple fights often and end up being suspended.

The school is a disgrace, misbehaved students that aren't taught at home. I used to go to this school, and I finally left it about last year, three years of misery. Okay so first there was an incident where I was bending over and someone hit me right in the head, I was like what was that for then he he said nothing and burst out laughing. So, I punched him directly in his nose. I was hispanic and the guy who slapped me was white. The teacher and security guard who took me was also white. Long story short I was the one who got in trouble even after explaining countless times, I got suspended for two days and its on my record now. Also everyone is bad people are joking around saying vulgar thinks making adult jokes, and talking about male/female genitalia, just disgusting. This school is ghetto and please parents do not send your kids here, it will leave them mentally and physically scarred. Also everyone pretty much hits me, one of the teachers is really blinded by I don't even know what.
