Hands down St. Peters School is the BEST school in Charles County. As a parent we want the best…read morefor our children and foundation, morals and values are very important. As working adults we spend 40 plus hours at work, which is a lot of time away from our little ones. It is very imperative that the private school our children attend will reinforce what is being taught at home. At times we as parents have very high standards and as I was researching private schools I was obviously convinced that I wouldn't be able to find a school that would meet my standards. That was until I came across the website and education blog sites that rated St. Peters School 5 stars. I began to follow St. Peters School for 4 years. My husband and I registered for the open house and we were filled with joy that we attended with the children. I must admit St. Peters School has maintained excellence as I began to observe my daughter experience coming home and telling me about her day and the bible story taught for the week, an excellent education curriculum overall in ALL grades, dedicated staff that actually cares about every child and the commitment each staff member portray at all times, diversity (inclusion & culture), family environment, security (knowing that I can trust this school that all children including my child will ALWAYS BE PROTECTED), school wide community projects in providing support to orphanages and etc., and most importantly the involvement of the parents. After Care & Before Care is awesome! Update review: St. Peter's School is 1 of 50 schools selected as the 2017 National Blue Ribbon school award affirming the hard work of school staff and administrators, church, students, parents involvement, educators exemplary teaching and communities in creating a safe and welcoming environment while simultaneously students achieved high levels of challenging content. As educators, parents, church and school staff continue to provide encouragement, support and a job well done as these are the most important years for the the students. "Don't tell me the sky is the limit when there are footprints on the moon!" - Paul Brandt. St. Peter's School educators will continue to imprint a lifetime education experience inspiring our young future leaders everyday.

This review is of an elementary school. Not a typical food and fun review I know but still it…read morecould be helpful for any potential students and their families. Eva Turner is a small neighborhood based school. We have a great staff with little changeover (which certainly benefits the kids) Some of the best teachers and staff - Mrs McGowan and Mrs Hoza (K, with over 30 years experience) Mrs Scott and Miss Michelle (Pre-K) Ms Matari (art) Mrs Rios (Parent Liasion) Mrs Kazim (PTO pres) Mrs Penny (school secretary) Mrs Cherry (counselor) Mrs Wray (library) Mrs Freundel (reading) Mrs Corsey (speech) Our parent volunteers (which includes me!) are awesome. Volunteers help all the teachers and staff - which free's the teachers to focus on the kids. There are plenty of things for volunteers to help with (so keep this in mind with your own childs school) Eva Turner has several after school clubs: Art, Chess Math team, Destination Imagination, Just Say No and Band. We are a Title 1 school - which is great for everyone. The school offers several parent classes every year and activities for families. There are only 2 buses and several daycare vans this year - the rest are walkers. Next year we are getting an additional 140 kids, so there's going to be buses. (but our school will still have less than 500 total) We have recently had upgrades to our school (a beautiful wing including new K and Pre-K classrooms and kitchen) smartboards in the classrooms (what a great concept). Our school is poor, 75% qualify for free lunch and we are always in need of donations. Ooops, now it seems like I writing a bad review but we've been here 5 years so far and I wouldn't change it. if we could.
