When he was just one year old, the daily struggle of getting him ready and dealing with the rigid schedules of mainstream daycare centers like KinderCare was exhausting for both of us. He was unhappy, and so was I--until I found Rainbow Children's Center In-Home. From the moment we joined, Taran created an amazing, nurturing home environment. She understood the realities of being a working parent and allowed me to bring my son in his pajamas when he was too sleepy in the mornings. The extra love, patience, and dedication she provided were more than just childcare--they were family. To this day, I still call her my "baby daddy" because of the incredible role she played in our lives. Now, my son is 13, and our families have grown together. Taran continues to be a part of his life, always providing a safe and loving space. Any parent would be truly lucky to have their child in her care. Unlike mainstream daycare centers, which often feel impersonal and unreliable, Rainbow Children's Center In-Home ensures that every child feels secure, happy, and cared for. My best advice to any parent searching for childcare: Pay attention to how your child feels when you pick them up. If they are smiling and relaxed, you know you've found the right place. Without a doubt, Rainbow Children's Center In-Home is the best childcare in Lake Ridge, Virginia. We love Tay Tay and will always be grateful for the love and support she has given our family!

I'm not exactly sure where to begin ....but I love this SCHOOL! Love the Director & the staff !…read more We relocated to the area and I did a lot of research on other day care centers. I even reviewed VA reports of each day care center. When I visited the school in person I was armed with my list of questions regarding activities and correction. All of my concerns were addressed by the schools director, Mrs. Marlene. She was able to competently and confidently answer all of my questions. Putting some of my worries at ease. My child has attended this school for the past 7 months and has flourished. Please notice I called it a school because The RISING STARS For Toddlers is not a daycare or playroom. They have outdoor classes, circle time discussions, music and so much more! The curriculum varies on your child's ability. The children have no clue they are learning and to them they are just enjoying toddler life. I receive weekly photos of my child's daily interactions, which I look forward to viewing with my little one. My son is recognizing letters, counting in Spanish, cleaning his area in the short time he has attended the school. As a mother, your concerned about who is caring for you child and how their treated. In most cases you gauge that from how your child behaves upon pick up. Never in my wildest dreams did I think my 24 month old would NOT WANT TO COME HOME!!! I am not kidding!!! He literally has to be coerced out of school. THIS SPEAKS VOLUMES!!! Amazing Staff

They take education seriously, within 3 weeks she could sing the alphabet song and identify letters on street signs and in books. The many activities and family events are awesome and let us see our kids interacting with each other and the staff. I would recommend Rising Stars to anyone.

This is by far one of the most impressive day care facilities I have ever seen. From the moment we…read morefirst toured the facility prior to enrolling my now 2 year old, there was a sense of calm, caring and nurturing. We were most interested in this day care facility because they had separate rooms for infants. My primary concern with most places we had visited was that my daughter (was 3 mo. at the time) would be in the same room with children who were 1 and could walk. Not a Creme! They have 3 different infant rooms so your child is with other children at the same development stage. Infant A for immobile, Infant B for the crawlers, and Infant C for the learning-to-walkers. I went back a couple times before making my final decision and each time, I was welcomed by name and they always asked about my daughter (by name). It just felt right! Now, almost two years later, my daughter is moving into Gard 2 (Preschool), so the fun is really beginning. She will move between rooms, including the gym, library, art room, etc. She is excited every morning to go to "school" and play with her friends. She is greeted by name by every teacher in the building, even those teachers she will not see for another couple years. She receives a daily report of things that happened during the day and little notes of special successes (e.g., the first time she took steps or used the potty). My friends and family are amazed at her vocabulary, hand eye coordination and her general knowledge and understanding of things going on around her. While I would like to think I'm a super parent or have a genius child, I give much of the credit to the wonderful care givers at this school. While the school is rather expensive, the benefits are amazing. For example, there is no need to bring diapers, wipes, or food (once your child eats solid foods)...all is supplied; enrichment teachers focus on particular subjects (art, music, computers, sports); indoor AND outdoor play spaces, including a water park (how cool is that!?); and caring staff that my child hugs every day (and she doesn't hug just anyone). I know I am missing things but...basically, this place leaves me with a peace of mind that my child is in great hands, well cared for and loved, and is being set with an educational foundation that is sure to help her for years to come. NOTE: In reading the other review posted, I have never experienced what was described.

They try to upsell cameras all around the school but when something occurs "the footage is reviewed" by the director with no updates and the "sound doesn't work". I don't normally write reviews, but after noticing the previous poster's review, I have to offer my…read moreopinion, which is a very different experience. My 9-month-old son is in the infant room, and La Petite has been a total blessing to our family. When my oldest son was born, I was fortunate enough to be able to keep him home with me, and I was very hesitant to enroll my new baby in a daycare facility. I work full time now, and staying home with this baby wasn't an option. I thought I would try to find a nanny, but aside from not being able to afford a full-time caregiver, I was having a very difficult time finding anyone I would trust to leave my son alone with, unsupervised. After visiting three or four daycare centers in my area, I finally decided the La Petite in Dumfries would be the one we would try. They were the only ones in the area that allowed us to pay by the visit rather than enroll the baby full time, which allowed us to ease into daycare while I transitioned off maternity leave. But the number one reason we have stayed with La Petite is Miss Mimi, who is the primary caregiver in the infant room. If I could afford to steal Miss Mimi for myself, she would be my dream nanny! There is absolutely no question that she loves the babies she cares for, and my son loves her so much, his face lights up into a huge smile every morning as soon as he sees her. There is nothing more important in the world than having peace of mind that your child is in good hands when you have to leave him with someone else, and we have that 100-percent with Miss Mimi! Before I got to know Miss Mimi, one of the things that made me feel more comfortable leaving my son at La Petite was that that the infant room is directly across from the main desk with a big window right as you walk in, so there is constant supervision and eyes on what is going on in that room. I've found that the facility is very clean, and contrary to the other poster's review, my son has not been sick anymore than my first son was when he was a baby and home with me full time. I get status reports from Miss Mimi and the other caregivers (who are also amazing!) all day long through a phone app, including pictures of my happy boy playing with toys and rolling on the carpet and blowing bubbles and all the other things he does while I'm working. The staff at the center has also been great. They were super accommodating of our part-time care needs before I transitioned back to full time, and overall I cannot say enough good things about this center. I only have the one child enrolled in daycare, so I can't speak to the classrooms for the older toddlers, but I do not think I would have been nearly as comfortable leaving my baby with any of the other care providers I interviewed before we decided on La Petite. If you have a newborn and you are looking for a safe and loving place to care for him while you have to work during the day, I would strongly recommend the La Petite in Dumfries!

His teachers have been very helpful in guiding him and guiding me on how to help him be his best self. They really do care and know what they are doing. I had to follow up with them to see if he got in or not and she emailed me right away saying they wanted him to come in for a second visit. I thought it was strange but I went with it! idk how you can judge how a child is going to do or what they can do in a 15 min visit. Seemed very inaccurate to me. She said she would follow up with is but never did so I reached out to see because you we had not heard from them in about 2 weeks very unprofessional to me. I said Good Evening! I'm just following up about my son to see if he has gotten into your program? If not please let me know, so I can look into getting him in another Kindergarten program before spots are all filled up. Her response was thank you for your email. We are sorry but your son didn't make it into our program. We wish you the best. No explanation to why or not! I'm really upset because his pediatrician recommended this place thought it would be a great place for him to thrive but they passed judgment on my son without giving him the chance. As a military family this is disheartening. This is how they treat the people who serves this country's kids with a disability.
