As stated in my former review (s) you will never see stickered, dried up fruit or vegetables here. They only sell what they grow. Beware though that when the corn is in there are lines and it sells out VERY quickly. It's that good! These days I no longer cook for a family. So, I'm fine requesting short ears which may or may not be imperfect and a bit less expensive. Their melons, which have been turning up lately are so delicious! Prices are a higher than what you'll see in a supermarket. You are buying fresh picked, native produce. The corn you buy today was picked at sunrise - same day!

That's about all I can say for them. The prices are higher than at Dick's Market Garden in Lunenburg. Not everything is price marked either. I liked that they offered beets without all the leaves on them. Then I got home and opened the bag to find they didn't clean the dirt off the bottoms, great big clumps of dirt. Cooked them and when I went to peel them they were white inside. Beets might have white or pale areas due to nutrient deficiencies. They don't give you a detailed receipt so you can see what you bought for how much and comparison shop because they are more than the competition. More money for less.

I now take my boys here every year. And I plan on continuing the tradition with them. Fond memories of penny candy, and apple dumplings with vanilla ice cream. And the merry -go-round and swings and those super fast and hot slides rofl. The beauty of the orchard and of course the tasty apples! They have their own cheese and fresh baked goods including different sized trays of their always good apple pie dumplings that you can buy to go or you can go to the building outside for refreshments and sit at the picnic tables. But be warned, the yellow jackets are everywhere. They don't tend to sting unless they have been irritated but it's hard to sit still when they are crawling on your foot or drink. Though I don't mind sharing, this isn't what I had in mind. But that's nature. You can always escape to your car to finish your refreshment s and head back out to check out their gift shop or antiques area! It's also a beautiful walk on the road at the orchard as well with gorgeous views of sunset and apple trees just before closing. They of course have many events for the public like book fairs, and festivals of all kinds so it's wise to follow their Facebook page! Brookfield orchard has been a family owned and operated business since 1918! I hope they continue to get the support they need to stay open. It truly is a nice place to go to spend a couple of hours and support a small business. Be sure to leave with some tasty apples, apple cider and those amazing apple dumplings! I know we can never leave without them! I do recomend this place! Bring the family! It's got a little something for everyone!

Since I'm going to make apple sauce. We also got a gallon of cider and a dozen apple cider donuts. The donuts were perfect. Just plain donuts. They were not rolled in sugar. The best part was the orchard itself. They gave you a map to find the different varieties. And Allowed you to drive around the orchard to get to the varieties you wanted. Note - do not attempt driving around the orchard unless you have 4WD It was a rainy day, but we were blessed with an hour window with no rain. So had a perfect day!

It's not like those places that say you can pick a pumpking, but have them already picked and lined up or in a pile. The scenery was gorgeous as well--trees had great color. Afterward we went to Meadowbrook Farm and their pumpkins were better and less than half the price. Beyond that, a snotty girl was working at the counter slowly giving out cookies and donuts. I asked her if the apple orchard had cider and she said "no" with no other explanation. She then said "we're making more but it'll be a while". I asked how long it takes and she was super annoyed. Sighing and rolling her eyes she ran back to ask someone else. Upon her return, she told us it would be at least two hours. That was all fine, places run out of things so it was totally understandable. As we're walking out, a lady walked in and asked for cider. The girl asked her how much she needed and went into a different area to give her two bottles. I don't know if the girl that "helped" us was just rude and lazy or really didn't know they had some, but either way, a super disappointing experience. In any area filled with great family farms with similar products, you'd think they might focus a tiny bit on customer service.
