Wow! Super surprised there is a yelp entry for this restaurant!…read more This place I feel is not in the most ideal area. Personally, I don't like coming to LKF to have dinner or lunch or whatever. Still, I can't fault them too much for the location, and many people have actually done the same since there are a number of good restaurants in LKF area. This place is primarily a steak place, though they have a few other things to choose from as well. I believe lunch times they offer a AYCE sort of option, where you get a main and then the salad bar is buffet. I've been to it before and it's pretty good. I've heard however since COVID they have changed it somewhat. The other night I came and got the seafood guazzetto, which is about $300 HKD, and has a bunch of different things such as fish, octopus, clams, etc. Lots of seafood essentially. Other things I tried included the sides of brussel sprouts, mushrooms, bruschetta, some of my brother's sirloin steak, some of the fish of the day (halibut?). Overall, the food is quite nice. I will say, they tend to use a bit too much butter/oil here. I know this is kind of true whenever you eat out, but here it is definitely noticeable. I would recommend them to tone it down just a little bit, since there are always ways to spice up your dish without going overboard on the fats

I came here for dinner three nights ago, and I'm still full from it!…read more The five of us shared bruschetta (it comes with four but they added one more for us), the cured meats (a great curated selection), and the meatballs for appetizer. They also brought out some veggies and dip before we ordered (which I had never seen done before) along with bread. The highlight of the night was the steaks of course. We shared the florentina (aka the porterhouse. A 32oz wagyu beast) and a filet. The meats came on a cutting board already cut, so the sharing was easy. They were perfectly seasoned, tender, and flavorful. We had roasted veggies and creamed spinach as sides. The latter was addictive! Chef Todd was around to explain their meat selection when I walked around to check them out in the case. We didn't get to send our regards to him, as we stayed late and were the last to leave. Todd, if you're reading this, hail to the chef! We went without a reservation and were seated right away. It was a Thursday night, but we had gotten there around 9 which might explain the vacancy. It's a great option for groups and celebratory dinners :)

Wife and I shared a Caesar salad, ribeye and creamed spinach. Originally wanted the prime rib but they ran out. The Caesar salad is made table side, even the dressing is made table side. It's a lighter dressing but actually made the salad very refreshing rather than the normal flavor found in the US. Ribeye was cooked perfectly (med rare) and we chose the pepper sauce which was also on the lighter side but allowed you to really taste the beef. Creamed spinach was richer than expected but still delicious. Even the bread was delicious. They had 3 different types and the only one I wasn't a fan of was the garlic buttered toast. It wasn't gross, just a bit too strong and heavy. We ordered a Manhattan and gin martini. Both were delicious and too easy to drink. They even gave us desert, little ice cream balls dipped in chocolate, served over dry ice Price matched the quality and service so expect to pay more compared to neighboring restaurants. Give it a shot!

The location in TST East is not the best, it's on the first floor in the really old TST Centre. The setting of the Ruth's is similar in all locations, it's plain, simple and rustic. There's not much of a cozy, warm atmosphere, this place is good for business dinner. Service is attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. They have a decent wine list leaning more on US and french wines. Prices are high but still suits every budget. Food wise you will find all classics that you expect from a Steakhouse. Appetizers include soups, salads and some seafood dishes. All is done nicely, salads and seafood very fresh. For main you can choose between different cuts and sizes of beef, all from the US. Steaks done here are a little different from other Steak Houses. They are served on a sizzling hot plate with butter. There's not much branding on the steaks as they use a special way of broiling. Just keep this in mind when you come here. Still the steaks are cooked to perfection, the meat is juicy, tasty and tender. For side dishes you can find all the classics, creamed spinach, baked potatoes, onion rings etc. Portions are big! If you still have room for dessert go for the creme brulee or the cheesecake. Ruth's is expensive. Prepare to pay at least HK$ 1000 per head including drinks.

The drinks are great, the view is spectacular the staff is nice and attentive, and most importantly they have free steak sandwiches!!! How do you beat that!?! I don't know about you but I've never seen any happy hour or restaurant for that matter that gives away steak sandwiches. And even two *free steak sandwiches will leave you generally full. Definitely consider dressing on the more business casual side (or more formal than laid back and grungy) as that is the general feel of the other guests. ...did I mention the drinks on the happy hour menu are amazing? Unfortunately I was only able to see the happy hour and not the full menu, due to travel restrictions (which I guess served me well). I might also add, if you see my photos, I didn't drink all of those photos. I was with someone else, thank you very much. * Their marketing ploy obviously worked perfectly on me!

For a high end steakhouse and the cost, we expected the waiter be more attentive and many friendlier. He wasn't bad, just no frills and lack of interaction. It was an ok experience overall. I gave the experience a 3 star. The food was good. The view was awesome. The service was a bit below standard for the price.

The only reason I'm giving this place one star is for their basket of chips (or fries/thick potato…read moreslices) and many TV screens broadcasting live sports. Otherwise everything else is just downright awful. My friend ordered a pot of Earl Grey tea (Twinings) because he didn't want to start drinking alcohol too early in the afternoon. When we asked them to refill the tea pot with hot water, they sternly replied, "Oh, we don't do refills." First, RUDE. Second, if you're charging $44 for a SMALL pot of tea, we'd better be getting a refill. Yes you may be wondering why we're having tea at a sports bar, but if they can't even provide proper and FAIR customer service at a non-alcoholic level, they shouldn't even in business. How about a glass of hot water instead? My friend went to inquire about hot water. Oh sorry, they don't offer hot water either. At first, I thought they were kidding. So I went around back to the bathroom, and afterwards, asked a waitress who was manning a electric water kettle if I could have a glass of water. You know what she said? "I'm sorry, we don't have hot water." And I pointed out the electric water kettle right in front of me, "But you're boiling hot water right now!" "That's for tea. If you want hot water, you can order hot lemon tea, which costs $39--" HOW IN THE WORLD CAN YOU OFFER HOT TEA BUT NOT HOT WATER?! ARE YOU THAT STINGY?! IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE AT ALL. About an hour later, I asked for some tap water to accompany my beer. They brought an glass of ice water with lemon. How nice, I thought. A slice of lemon too? How considerate of them. But too much ice and not enough water left me asking for a refill. "Can I have some more water please?" I asked politely. "Oh sorry, our boss does not allow us to give out water. You have to buy bottled water." WHAT THE HECK?! Absolutely the worst restaurant/bar experience I have ever had in HK, let alone, in the whole entire world. Poor service. Oh and the fries? They were nice and crisp at the start, but livable without. I would gladly pay for fries elsewhere but The Doghouse. Am I returning? Never in a million years.

The TVs always have a rugby or Australian Rules Football match and the menu has some favorites from down under. The patrons and staff are friendly and the seating layout is good. But that's where it ends. The food is very unsatisfactory in taste, texture and temperature. And speaking of temperature, this is the first bar I ever went to in Hong Kong with no air conditioning. Hard to look pretty when you're sweating like Niagara Falls! There are far too many bars in Wan Chai to settle for bad food and uncomfortable temperature.
