From small home gardening efforts up to large contracting projects, this place can support them. There is ample parking on 3 sides of the main building. (2 in the front areas & 1 in the rear area). I had to replace a boxwood hedge that developed the "boxwood blight." The selection was better than other stores in the area, and competitively priced. I am a regular here. Brian, the owner, was so helpful in listening to exactly what I needed. Although he didn't have any succulents in stock yet, he promised to call me as soon as he got some in. And man, did he deliver! The succulents he brought into the shop were the healthiest, brightest, most beautiful ones I had ever seen (even after living in California)! Not only was the quality better than the succulent selection at Lowe's, Home Depot, and local nurseries, the PRICE was so good! I attached some photos of the favors I made with the plants, so any bridal parties, brides, wedding planners, or someone looking to add some green to their living space can see the quality AND bargain they'll get by going to C J Cook's.

I've been a loyal visitor for years.. long before it became the garden center it is today, back when it was Haines Buick. Over the decades, it's grown and evolved, but the warmth, quality, and personal touch have never changed. Every visit feels familiar yet fresh, and it's obvious that the people running it genuinely care about what they do. Every December, picking out a Christmas tree at Haines has become a tradition I look forward to more than anything else in the season. The selection is always incredible, the staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and they make the process smooth and enjoyable, even when it's busy. It's the kind of experience that turns a simple errand into a highlight of the holiday. Honestly, if I were to rate Haines, it just peaks over five stars in my book. The consistency, attention to detail, and welcoming atmosphere are unmatched. Whether you're a longtime local like me or a first-time visitor, it's a place that leaves a lasting impression--and keeps you coming back year after year.

Since I had called several other local garden centers, I asked if he was sure. Dennis said that he has both plants and they would be located by the barn when my husband and I came in. I called on Saturday and spoke with Diane and apprised her of the situation. I told her that my husband and I would not be able to come in until Sunday and if they would hold the plants for us. Diane took my name and phone number and said that she would speak to Dennis and if there was a problem, she would call me back. Since I didn't hear from her, I thought that the plants were held and put aside. On Sunday, in 93 degree heat and high humidity, we looked near the barn to pick up our plants. Then I went in the store and asked the man behind the counter if they had plants held with my name. He had no clue! I asked to see Dennis or Diane and was told that both are off on Sunday. I was livid! Here I was told that they had the specific plants that I had been seeking, and then we couldn't locate them. We checked every greenhouse and table and could not find either of them! I called today and asked to speak with Dennis or Diane. Of course neither of them are working today! Then I asked if either of them was the owner and was told no. Then I asked who is the owner and who is in charge? The woman said that no one was in charge at the moment. This gave me no recourse, but to write a review of the situation in order to prevent this from happening to anyone else! Their prices are inflated and they don't tell the truth, but just want to get you in the garden center and hope that you'll spend a lot of money! I will never go there again!

I ended up working with Sharon, the wedding lady. We designed special boutonnieres for the various men in the bridal party, some tipped with the wedding color, and all but two individually appointed for stems and such. The bridesmaid's wrist corsages were two that matched, each with two white roses tipped with navy (the color of the dresses they were wearing) plus one turquoise tipped rose (the wedding color). And the third corsage with all turquoise tips, since she was wearing a dress in the wedding color. I bought some fancy wrist bands for the bridesmaid's corsages, which they were nice enough pick up at my home. Those dressed up the corsages further. My bridal bouquet was a waterfall of gardenias and white roses with floral accents. It was stunning, if a bit heavy due to it's size. A nice side benefit is the large bouquet made me look smaller, lol. Sharon suggested I get an additional much smaller bouquet to throw. It was a good suggestion, as I would have knocked out someone with the larger bouquet, lol. They did a wonderful job with the flowers, delivering them on a Sunday even though the store itself is closed on Sunday. They deliver on Sunday which makes sense since they are near a hospital, etc.. I definitely recommend them. They were a pleasure and did a great job.
