Cole slaw was homemade and not drenched in mayonnaise. It too was as fresh as could be.

Delicious and fresh flounder sandwich. We could have celebrated in a place with a bit more ambiance but I am sure the food would not have been as good as Woolley's. If you want fish, go to the source, and this place is the closest you will get to fresh unless you catch it yourself. One star deducted for the amount of seasoning. I could have used a bit more spice, but fresh fish stands on it's own. Spice serves to cover up the fish to hide an odor. Definitely not needed here!

It used to be, and I'm willingly dating myself, when fish was the poor man's beef. Mom would buy fish and it would be cheap meal for the whole family. Man, have times changed. I rarely buy fish anymore, partly the cost and partly they make it way better in restaurants than I can. Woolley's is the place to go in these parts. They've been here forever and wanting seafood for Easter, there was no better place to go. When you walk in you are faced with a counter laden with a plethora of seafood. They have anything that swims. Lobster, crabs, shrimp, scallops, fish, mussels, etc. I went in with the thought of picking up some shrimp and some fish. I decided on the XX Jumbo shrimp and bronzino. I asked the counterman for two pounds of bronzino filets and I see him weighing out three whole fish. I said, "I wanted filets." He responded by saying, "Yes, we'll filet them for you." OK, that works. In about two minutes they were packed up for me, I paid for the lot, and walked out. Simple. I marinated the shrimp and cooked them on the grill. They were great. I found a recipe for for pan seared bronzino with mushrooms in a wine sauce that was excellent. The fish was super fresh. This is the place to go in the Freehold/Howell/Lakewood areas.

No ice on the food, but, flies, they did have.

If you don't have the time to travel to the shore you can have the same fresh seafood from the counter prepared for your table.

My mom and I stumbled in while exploring the Jersey coast and left completely obsessed. We went all in on the menu: tuna salad (free starter for the table), clam chowder, a warm lobster roll, and two sushi rolls, the Wow Roll and the Out of Control Roll. The coconut shrimp in the Wow Roll was a standout moment. Light, crispy, and perfectly balanced. The warm lobster roll was generous and satisfying! Service was friendly and quick without feeling rushed. They have a connected indoor seating area and a covered outdoor space, the indoor space was packed. This is a perfect stop whether you're a local or passing through the Shore!

We started with chowder, one Manhattan and one New England- both fantastic. Two appetizers- the fried clam strips and the tuna tartare sushi - another win/win! For the entrees we took one from the specials, a blackened Mahi Mahi with lemon mashed potatoes and green beans which was sublime. For the other we tried a lobster taco that came with a choice of salad or hand cut fries. We went the fry route. They were great. Notes: it's a small place, they do not take reservations so you will wait for a table, however, they will text you when it's ready. They do sell wine or byob - your choice. They have a fish market and their own fishing boats and are proud to serve their own caught fish. This seems to be a local favorite in the Point Pleasant area. It will be crowded- it will be worth the wait. Come comfortable, it's laid back and it's all about enjoying really good seafood!

They were barely half full and the noise was not extremely loud. I had the New England clam chowder and as usual it was a great start to the meal. Plenty of clams and potatos in a creamy white sauce. To start the meal they also provided bread sticks with sesame seeds which is a real nice alternative to dinner rolls. With the sticks they also providing a dipping sauce that really tasted great. This the only place I can remember having breadsticks during dinner and loved it. For dinner I had stuffed flounder with rice and vegetables. The fish was prepared real well and came with plenty of crabmeat and stuffing. Inside it was real moist and tasted great. Along with that was rice and mixed vegetables. In the restaraunt the vegetables were a bit harder then I would prefer but when I reheated the meal at home they were perfect. But if you you are an al dente vegetable they would be fine for you. My wife picked something off the specials of the day. Shrimp, Mahi, broccoli, mushrooms, pine nuts all over rice. She felt this was a great meal and would definitely get it again. It was a nice blend of a bunch of tastes and textures, and the pine nuts are always a great addition to a meal. With less people to deal with the service was right on point, with several returns to our table to make sure everything was well. I feel you will always have a great meal here. But at times there will be a wait to get a table and it will be a bit loud... But in my mind you will always walk out smiling

There is a to go area, bathroom, and then indoor seating area. They have merchandise behind the register. Started with the tuna nachos and crab rangoon mozzarella sticks. Tuna was good quality and had a good coating of sesame seeds. My perfect bite was tuna, orange sauce, seaweed, tomato, & onion. The chips were perfectly crispy. The crab rangoon was surprisingly good. This appetizer is what made me pick this place. Such a good combination. Didn't need the marinera sauce. Next up soups. Lobster bisque was ok. I guess I was expecting it to be a little more rich. But it was good, it tasted exactly like lobster and I got good chunks in the soup too. Now the shrimp and corn chowder was super flavorful. Favorite dish of the meal. For mains, cold lobster roll and two tails w butter and side salad. Side salad was well dressed and I appreciate the ribbons of Parmesan. The lobster was mostly cooked right. There was one that was a bit chewy. Added salt and butter but felt like something was missing still. I couldn't find a good combo of toppings to go with the lobster. The cold lobster roll was alright. The potato bread added a good sweet flavor that complimented the lobster. Overall a decent meal.
