Please beware of portion size, its shareable size if you are not roo hungry, if you are then it will be gobbled up quickly as the food is very tasty, suprising we get similar taste as other US states I ordered green curry and pad thai which were outstanding Would defenitely recoomend if you are around seward, its a cute place with music and amazing waitress Stomach and heart both were satisfied read more

The best and ONLY Thai food in Seward. This was an oasis in the middle of a dessert (of burgers, fries, pizza) land. From the cream cheese wontons to the fried rice and assortment of curries, everything was delicious. I did have to take off 2 stars because it took 45 mins wait time for a part of 8 and we got our food served 1 hour after we were seated. read more

Parents with young kids: seriously, go somewhere else. This is NOT a kid-friendly restaurant. My husband and I went to Woody's Thai in Seward last night with our 3-year-old. When we arrived, we were told there was at least a 40-min wait, so I put our name down and walked back to the car. Literally 30 secs later, I received a call and text saying a table was available and that I had 10 minutes to take it (see screenshot). I ran back inside and was told to take the first table by the entrance, behind the elephant. Then we waited 20 minutes just to have someone take our order. The server kept walking by and ignored us despite us trying multiple times to get her attention. We finally placed our order at 7:37 pm (see receipt screenshot). We ordered a chicken and rice dish from kids menu and a pad Thai for my husband and me to share. That's it. By 8:15 pm, we still had no food. We called the server over and asked for an update. She told us everything was made to order and therefore took time. I asked if they could please prioritize our son's meal because it was getting late for him and we had already been sitting there for about an hour. Her response? Kids' meals are also made to order, so it will take time. I understand that restaurants get busy. I understand that food takes time. What I don't understand is having a hungry 3-year-old sitting at your table for an hour and showing absolutely no willingness to accommodate the child in any way. But the worst part was still to come. The server apparently went back to the kitchen to check when the ticket had been entered. She came back to our table, knocked on the table in front of me and said, "It's only been 35 minutes, not one hour since the ticket was made," and walked away. Honestly, I couldn't believe it. Imagine ignoring a table for 20 minutes and then coming back to argue with the customer about how long they've been waiting. And even if we ignore the first 20 minutes, 35 minutes is still an unreasonable amount of time to wait for two dishes, especially when one of them is a simple kids' meal. Instead of apologizing, giving us an honest update, or simply saying they were backed up, the server chose to make a point of telling me that I was wrong. That level of attitude toward a customer was completely unnecessary and incredibly disrespectful. Our food finally arrived at 8:25 pm. By then, our 3-year-old had completely given up and refused to eat. At that point, we ate a little and just wanted to leave. The server never came back to our table and sent someone else to finish serving us. The food itself was actually good. Unfortunately, good food doesn't excuse terrible service or poor treatment of customers. And to the parents considering this restaurant: a kids' menu does not make a restaurant kid-friendly. Being kid-friendly means understanding that a 3-year-old cannot reasonably be expected to sit patiently for over an hour while adults debate ticket times. If you're traveling to Seward with young children, I would strongly recommend going somewhere else. If you do choose to eat here, be prepared to wait a very long time for your food and, based on our experience, don't expect much understanding or courtesy from the staff. We came in expecting a nice dinner and left feeling completely unwelcome. Good food. Terrible service. Absolutely not worth the experience, especially with kids. read more

Woody's Thai Kitchen - Order receipt with timestamp - Thai Near Me - Seward, Alaska

Came here based on a recommendation. Although I do agree with other reviewers that Woody's portions are big, I was mildly disappointed by the food. I ordered the Pad Thai and it was just alright. I was surprised that it didn't automatically come with side items like crushed red pepper, lime, and peanuts. To their credit, when we asked for red pepper and lime, they gave it to us. It's just strange that we had to ask for it, as other Thai restaurants would already have them included on the plate. I had a taste of my friend's pineapple curry and it was just not good. It was too sweet (probably due to the pineapple). In terms of service, it was a bit slow - which was surprising considering the place wasn't packed at all. All in all, Seward is a small town so you might not get the best food. I would hesitate to recommend this restaurant if you are looking for something "authentically Thai" to eat. read more

We came here on recommendation from our AirBnb host and were very happy with the food! The food quantity is huge. I was also pleasantly surprised by the freshness of everything and the variety of veggies they had in their dishes. It tasted home cooked and hit the spot after a long day of traveling/hiking. We like it so much, we visited it twice. We got the pad thai, the cream cheese wontons, tom khar soup, red curry and swimming rama. read more

I arrived at 2pm and I was surprised that it was probably half full and had to wait a little to get my order in. I ordered the green curry with chicken that came with a bowl of jasmine rice. It was a huge portion! I don't know if it was because I was hungry or because it was so good...I surprised myself and ate it all! It was spicier than I anticipated (they didn't ask about the spice level that I wanted - which is typically mild) but I still had no issue polishing it off! It totally hit the spot for a rainy day in Seward. read more

Great food and friendly and helpful service. They also have a vegan menu! Great way to warm up when the weather is a bit chilly.

Coming from the east coast this is the best Thai food I've had. Got the Pad Thai it was amazing. My bf got the Garlic Rice and loved it. Don't mess around with the spice. read more

This place is OK. I was expecting a more authentic experience. It is pretty whitewashed and under seasoned. The noodle to topping and noodle to sauce ratios were both heavy on the noodle side. Nice vibe but average experience overall. read more

Great food. Good vegetarian and vegan options. They even have a vegan menu! Friendly staff and service. They are open till 8.30pm (not 7.30 like it shows on Yelp). read more

The corn fritters were crunchy and tasty. It is a busy restaurant so add your name in waitlist in advance.

Me and my buddy had the best Thai food outside of Bay Area. Simply superb. Place is very cozy. There was along waiting but we settled to have dinner by the bar table. In spite of that, service was great and had excellent dishes... Red curry w/ chicken for my buddy and I had Holy Basil w/ chicken... needless to say we finished the generous portions very yummy. Our host Alicia, a bubbly personality made the dinner extra special. Highly recommend this place when in Seward. read more

I was very disappointed. It is pretty expensive and so I was expecting something good. I ordered the carry out pad Thai with chicken. The floor was good but it was so over cooked but was a sticky lump of mushy noodles read more

Astonishingly good Thai food in Seward, they really nailed the spice level. I've been to Thailand and live in San Francisco... We shared a Tom Kha Gai and a Moo Deng Pork. Both were spicy but not so much that it interfered with other flavors and both lingered pleasantly. The kitchen gave us a crab/cream cheese appetizer that was made by mistake, the wrappers were very delicate and perfectly crispy. Honestly, I did not expect this at all and was very pleasantly surprised! read more

I am a Thai food lover and was stupid excited to see a Thai restaurant with high ratings. I was terribly unimpressed. I had gotten yellow curry and was so looking forward to a creamy savory curry and got a watery broth curry with mushy carrots. I only took a couple bites and couldn't even finish. Super disappointed for what was almost 30$ just on a single meal. read more

I've been to this Thai restaurant in Seward twice now, and both times it was packed, which says a lot! It's clearly a local favorite, and for good reason. I tried both the Panang and Red Curries, and they were absolutely fantastic. I like a good kick, so I went with spice level 4, and it hit the perfect balance--hot enough to satisfy but not overwhelming. The Drunken Noodles were just as amazing--bold flavors, fresh ingredients, and cooked just right. What really stood out was how helpful the staff were. They made great recommendations and took time to explain the dishes and spice levels. That kind of service goes a long way, especially in a busy spot. On top of that, the prices were very fair--something that's hard to come by in Seward, where restaurants are usually pretty expensive. Highly recommend if you're looking for flavorful, authentic Thai food with great service and solid value. read more

If i could give it 6 stars i would! Portions, even off the kids menu, were large. The flavors of Thailand were such a nice break from the American fare found in the rest of Seward. Michelle took care of us along with her colleagues and they were all so attentive! Checked on us often and enjoyed the recommendations. Panang curry was so yummy! The noodle on kids menu satisfied a kid's palate but us adults were stealing it off their plate bc it was so good. Go here! read more

Delicious Thai food in Seward, AK! We enjoyed sharing the Panang curry (ground peanuts, coconut milk, kaffir lime leaves, thai basil, chili, and chicken) at a level-4 spice (out of 5), which had a good level of heat (a lil'sweat by the end of the meal) and the Pad Thai (rice noodles, egg, scallions, ground peanuts, bean sprouts, tamarind, chicken and shrimp), at a level-0 spice (might've gone with a level-1 spice to perk it up, but it was good as was)! Good portion sizes (including a refill of rice with the curry) and friendly, prompt service. Would definitely return if we ever re-visit Seward! read more

My husband and I are locals to Seward, Alaska. We usually get the bacon fried rice add pineapple to share but since the start of the summer the food quality has gone downhill. This place is pretty cute and so busy! The service was really good. As we went to order, I asked about the appetizer to confirm that it was vegan- and the server let us know that they had a vegan menu.... A place with a vegan menu in Seward, Alaska?!?!! I still ordered the vegan veggie fried rice and added tofu- my husband ordered the vegan pad Thai. We also ordered the tofu corn cakes- those were really good! The veggie fried rice comes with pineapple which gives it a good little sweetness. I typically like it spicy so I asked for hot sauce and got Siracha. Overall, it was good. I would recommend it if got needed a good vegan option that wasn't a salad or fries! read more

We came here about an hour before closing and they were very nice and quick with us. What isn't pictured in this review are the tofu corn cakes because we ate them up so fast! Panang curry and Tom Yum soup were delicious as well. One of the people in my party has been having trouble chewing because of a recent dental procedure. However, the tofu, soup, and curry made it easier for her to chew and enjoy the delicious food. Thank you! read more

This place was totally full On a Saturday night so you may have to wait. I think it would be worth it. Serving sizes are really big. One main dish can easily feed 2-3 people or in our case; provide leftovers for at least 1 if not 2 meals. The wontons were in the lightest fried wrap I've had and retained a nice rice flavor. The sauce was good enough to drink. The chicken noodle curry soup was perfect after a long drizzly day on the boat. Nice heat, excellent flavor, and quality chicken. My friend had the Chinese sausage fried rice I had some it was also good. I'd still get the soup over the rice next time. read more

I got the tofu pad thai and was really expecting something good based on reviews. But it went downhill fast. The tofu was bad, tasted as if it had been previously cook, not used and then reheated. The noodles felt over-cooked (not crispy but more on mushy side). I give them an extra star because my daughter loved her plate and they did remove the charge off of my plate when I said I did not like the plate after eating like 5 bites. I wasn't expecting that so it was a pleasant surprise. read more

A laid-back spot for surprisingly authentic Thai food in the middle of the tiny town of Seward. We stopped by on a Saturday evening and the restaurant was fairly packed -- we had to wait for a little, but were seated pretty quickly. The waiters were very sweet and patient, and answered any questions we had about spice levels (they grind their own chilis, so you know things can get hot)! They were accommodating of vegetarian and vegan diets as well. For the food: Pad Thai -- a Thai classic done right! The noodles were perfectly chewy and the sauce was really flavorful. Holy Basil -- I loved the baby corn and tofu, went great with white rice! read more

An updated review to reflect the Covid service. Well, i find myself unable to fault Woody's for anything at all despite the Covid pandemic. It's affected many businesses adversely, in both service and food. That is not the case with the delightful treasure that is Woody's Thai. It has remained a calm oasis in a food tornado. Yes, we do still drive all the way down from Anchorage JUST to come here, and then drive straight home. Yesterday it was lashing it down with snow, the roads were not conducive to safe driving, and going through the pass, there were super deep snow berms at the roadsides. The roads were vaguely passable with snow tyres, but if you were in a regular wheeled vehicle without your studs, it would have been a greasy old drive indeed. It was not a drive for the faint of heart. But I had Woody's on my mind, and we go down every so often. Seward is just so quaint, and i do have a soft spot for it. For me, Chicken Panang is where it's at, my dears. The sauce is so creamy good, and then you bite into a sneaky chili, that makes your snotter dribble in the most delightful way, the chicken is plentiful, as is the creamy peanutty sauce. and there is lots of rice. It's a good filling and hearty dish, and i was destroyed with starvation (normally i eat maybe 2/3, and save the rest for later, but i was powering through it like it was an eating competition, and there was maybe 3 bits of chicken left but still a good chunk of rice, and had i had more of the sauce left, i may have saved it for later and stuck it into a tortilla and rolled it up amateurishly (I just CANNOT wrap a tortilla to save my life!) Anyway, i discarded the minute amount i left behind. Blake got the red curry with beef. It was hot. His nose was running vociferously lol. It was also delicious, and the size of the portion was even bigger then mine. We stopped on the way home in a pull-out, and whilst i got out and stretched my legs in the blizzarding snow, he got his red curry out, and had at it again. And he finished it off when he got home. These are big portions of good food. Napkins and flatware are never forgotten, and we have never had to go back and say "this isn't right" or "You forgot the flatware/napkins" it's been perfect every time, and a well earned Pandemic 5 stars from me. read more

My hiking guide, a resident of Seward, recommended Woody's and said it's where the locals go to eat. I can definitely see why. The food was delicious after a long day of hiking outdoors. My picture and yes I said picture doesn't do Woody's Justice... We we're rolling into town on 8/15/2022 after getting the boat ready for the derby so eating wasn't a priority for us.. saying that I have always wanted to try Woody's so I made the call... The lady answered the phone and asked if I could hold and I said yes, it was over 4 minutes until she got back and she was super pleasant.. I knew they were busy and this was about 2:30 on a Friday afternoon. I ordered a combination Pad Thai with Chicken and Veggies, she said it would be about 20 minutes. My husband ran in since it was pouring rain.. we took our meal to the house and oh my gosh.. this was the Best Pad Thai I have ever had!! I'm so sorry I didn't get any good pictures this time however this won't be my last time!!! My husband said the place looks really nice inside so we'll definitely be stopping in for a meal when in town which is often!! read more

Woody's Thai Kitchen - This was our combination Chicken & Veggie Pad Thai that we devoured - Thai Near Me - Seward, Alaska

I imagine it's hard enough to make amazing food at a restaurant. So splice that with getting 23-25 people in the restaurant at once and one wonders what a sort of product they will end up with. In my case, I was a part of the 25 person group, and my experience was AH-MAZING. The service right out of the gate was exemplary. Lots of great information about the beverages list. The food menu makes it hard to choose. So many amazing options. We had chosen our meals ahead of time (an option for groups of 25 apparently). Choosing ahead of time means you can't ask questions, but that was okay. All the food I saw was amazing. It appears one could NOT choose wrong. Shortly after we placed our drink orders, food starting arriving. It came out as they made it, and was all out within a span of about 5-7 minutes, which was super impressive. My meal was hot, fresh and full of flavor. The rice was separate. I chose to spoon mine into the sauce, but several options there! Throughly impressed with the flavors, service and atmosphere of this place! read more

I ordered Tunyum soup and that is the worst soup I'd ever had considering it is 28 dollars.

AMAZING THAI FOOD! Truly the best Thai food I've ever had. The atmosphere is great and the staff brings great vibes. We had the Fried Spring Rolls, Pad Thai and the Yellow Curry! Fried Spring Rolls: we are for sure coming back for lunch time tomorrow for this snack! The sauce that comes with it is truly so yummy. Pad Thai w/ chicken and shrimp: The best hands down. The sauce was amazing. Completely stole the show. Lemon Curry: you have to get this!!!! So yummy. Drinks: you have to try the Rekorderlig Botanical Spritz Cider!! We tried all three and our top two were the Passion Fruit and Peach Basil. They also have a great Pear flavor. If you do try this cider make sure to follow the directions on the can for a better taste! Everything was so yummy here! By far my favorite place that we have eaten here in Seward!
