Thankful for Woodward Camera. I'm new to film photography but knew I didn't want to take my precious film to CVS/ Walgreens, etc to get my film developed- that's when I came across them. Pleased with their work- and they completed my prints a day earlier than expected. Thanks so much!! Only thing I wish is that they had classes to teach us how to develop our own film.. now that- is a class I'd pay for!! They are one of the only options in the area for good film development and scanning and thankfully are reliably good at it. The turn around time on it is variable and sometimes frustrating if you're trying to get scans back in a short time frame but they tell you up front when they expect to return it to you so can't complain too much. Prices are on the higher side but again they do a solid job and don't have much competition in the area. Staff are sometimes blunt and not too friendly but the work you pay for gets done. Overall worth going to if you're in the area and need film development or need to get more film. I've only ever gone here for film development so I cannot comment on other aspects. Their new system for storing your information is helpful though. read more

There are few places anywhere in the country where you can get the professional craftsmanship of restoration and repair of photos that one can receive at Woodward Camera. Tom has been there for years and is the best in the country. Tom is a craftsman- and he has had a significant impact in the life of my family when we discovered a box of 150 Kodak slides in an attic after my parent's passed away. He took such great care in transfering the slides to photos. He is a gem. read more

They have a extremely narrow selection of camera gear for the professional photographer. I wouldn't recommend this place to any one other than a hobbyist. My biggest gripes are with with film processing. The last time I came in, the employee behind the counter there seemed to know nothing about film. Which concerned me, knowing he would be handling my film. When I came back, it took him 10 or so minutes to find my film. There seems to be disorganization, and inexperience. When I got my film, it has finger prints on it and water spots. So the film was handle the wrong way, and wasn't dried the right way either. This showed up in my scans and gave me extra work that shouldn't had been there. The finger prints were not mine, this was seen the moment I unwrapped the negatives. Your supposed to handle film the same way you handle vinyl. only hold it by the outside edges and/or have cotton gloves on at least. And squeegee the film after he put it in a photoflo solution after development at least. Don't let water stream down the emulsion, because now that water spot is there forever. This place is a good local resource! But I wouldn't recommend it to my fellow colleagues in the professional world. read more

Needed to buy a DSLR camera for a intro course to photography, purchased it from here, camera works great. Big issue is when I asked the older gentlemen who sold me said camera what it uses to charge I was given the response, "micro usb". Come to find out the Canon T6 Rebel I purchased used needs a special charging dock for its battery. The service was fast but if you work in a store specifically selling cameras, you know maybe know what a person would need who has never used a DSLR camera. They've been in business for over 50 years. We went to have an old mini DV converted to a dvd. They called back the same day with the finished product. When the quality wasn't what we had hoped for (it appears as though our original wasn't in the greatest condition), they took it back and continued to work on it until it was the best possible quality, for no extra charge. While we were there, we also saw that they can also print your pictures on metal. It looked beautiful, and would make a great gift. And maybe my favorite part, the owner still comes to work every day, and I believe he's 84! Now that's passion and dedication. Highly recommend read more

I've been going here for the past few years getting copies of old prints enlarged, enhanced, etc., and I must say I've rarely seen a place with more helpful and knowledgeable employees. Even the "new guy", Jake, offered advice on a print to enhance it's quality. They even offer a service to develop film as well as many other services related to photography. There's a full line of cameras and equipment behind the counter along with employees that really know their stuff. The employees here are extremely rude and not helpful at all. They lack customer service and communication skills.

So, other than Best Buy and the New York retailers, this is usually where I go for camera gear or to get questions asked. I have to say that although several staff members are pretty warm and friendly, the selection that's offered is pretty minimal, prices are high and several of the employees don't seem super friendly. I wish they carried more lowepro instead of just promaster and had better quality filters instead of promaster. The prices on them also as I said before, are extremely expensive compared to other retailers. Lens selection needs to be expanded upon and gear updated. I also found it a bit laughable how little they offered for my kit set up last month. My lens alone was worth more than they were offering for 3 lenses, filters and body. Ended up getting 1600 more than they offered by selling on Facebook. read more

I'm not sure how to review these guys. On one hand they have a lot of traditional photo year and knowledge, and offer film, onsite developing, and post processing. But for digital sales, the staff won't let you actually turn the cameras on to try them, and their prices are pretty high. read more

The biggest strike against this place is poor customer service. The place is staffed mostly by grumpy old men who seem bothered by a young man lamenting heavily about purchasing his first almost $2,000 camera. :) I called myself supporting local business by buying my Canon 7D from them. Now I kinda wish I woulda saved the sales tax and got it from amazon. But it was kinda of a I have to have it now kinda feeling at the time. I liked Adray much better. To bad they closed. read more
