This location has a code locked door that my Stylist texted a code to me the day of my appointment. This is a great feature for safety purposes. Once inside, there are individual rooms that house a variety of beauty professionals. Barber, Stylist, Eyebrows, etc. The rooms have great lighting! The space is very clean. Not being easily swayed by stranger's comments online, I reviewed the photographs instead. What I saw is a charismatic, professional man who has a love for life and people. This energy is what I was seeking to bring about change to my look. Making an appointment online took seconds and within 48-hours I found myself walking into the most charming hair studio in downtown Stuart. Todd greeted me as if we were lifelong friends and wisped me into a chair within minutes. After running his fingers through my hair, examining my skin tone and facial features - he spoke a lot of stylist verbiage - then went to work on his new 'canvass'. Todd took my 14-years of partial highlight after partial highlights and turned them into an awe defining palette of shimmering colors with deep natural looking undertones that took my breath away. I was told to pay upfront to secure my appointment which I have not done before but did anyway. ($450.00) I was feeling confident after we went over my history and the goal of growing out my hair after losing my long hair from medication , and how traumatizing it was for me. He showed me some hair extensions and we agreed to do the color correction first and come back if that was the route I wanted to go in. I was just finally able to make a 2 inch ponytail. The color process didn't give the result we went for and he told me to come back in a week to change it. He then dried my hair and since my hair is curly, we discussed how no one should cut curly hair wet since it shrinks. He then "trimmed " it. I was told that my hair was in good condition and thought he was simply shaping or trimming the ends since we had spoken at length my goal of growing it out as curly hair is hard to style short. My appointment ran an hour over and I was 6 weeks post-op from a spinal fusion so the pain was definitely creeping up. When I was spun around and saw the sides were short and couldn't even be tucked behind my ears, I started to get anxious and I was wanting to just get out and go home. I never got to see the back of my hair and now I know why he never offered me a mirror. When I got in my car I was stunned. I went straight home and looked in the mirror to see that he had cut my hair so short that it was 1-2 inches! I can't describe the anger and pain that I felt. I spent that evening crying myself to sleep on the couch because I didn't want my husband to look at me. I have seen 4 Stylists only to be told that my hair is too short for extensions and will be for 6 months or more. No one can believe how bad both the color and cut are. I have been telling my story to as many people as I can in hopes that no one will have to go through the emotional trauma that I am because I went through losing my hair once and to have someone deliberately do this is beyond comprehension. If he knew what I go through everyday trying to find a hat or wig or strong enough hair products to keep my curly hair from standing up straight, he would hopefully listen to clients instead of talking over them in order to brag on himself. I thought when I saw how tiny his salon was, having one chair and having to go outside and back in another door to a public restroom while in a cape and hair foils, that he would be solely focused on his one and only client, but I was so wrong in so many ways to trust this person. I wish I could provide pictures so that there would be absolutely no way to rebut or defend himself. My physical pain has been terrible after surgery but my emotional pain has been the equivalent.

Skylar was so kind and helpful when setting me up for an appointment with Quinn, who has done my hair before. I got super lucky to snag some time with Quinn! The shop is so cute and such a warm and welcoming space. Everything feels clean and well taken care of. I also truly feel safe at Hair Hero to be myself without judgment. Skylar washed my hair while Quinn finished up on another client and I'll be very honest I wish I could hire her to wash my hair every day. She was gentle and thorough and it was wonderful! I do not have a complicated style but I do have some cowlicks and some other issues that a stylist needs to take into account. Some of these I pointed out myself. The cut that I received was very uneven it was choppy it was impossible to reproduce at home and I was very very unhappy. I went back to the location made an appointment to see someone the next day after explaining my problem. The person I ended up meeting with the next day was Reva, the new manager. she listened to my concerns and actually validated the issues that I was having and then proceeded to completely fix my hair. I just now was able to reproduce her blowout style in 5 minutes. That's what I wanted originally something low maintenance and now that's what I have and it looks really nice.
