Anyone looking for specialty meats, specially cut meats, or just really good meats for meals, this has a lot to offer. They have a lot of precut and packaged items in a several freezers. The Santa Fe chicken is really good! Stuffed pork chops, thick steaks, all really good stuff. The staff there all have an interest int he store, they aren't just employees. We've spoken the owner and family, they are some good people. They told me that the meats they get are sourced locally and are cut and stuffed on site. So far the only thing we've found that they don't carry is Picnic Hams. They do make some sausages but not a lot, the ones they do have are really good. Prices are bit more than your box chain stores, but you're also not getting cheap mass produced meats! Really great place, don't miss out. read more

We decided to treat ourselves with some Wagyu Ribeye steaks for Labor Day. A 32oz. and 16 oz. $98.00 for local American Wagyu. If you know Wagyu, then well worth it even at much lower grades then A5 which would have cost 3-4 times as much. We have had the same locally raised Wagyu from HEB and Central Market, they were excellent. The first indicator that something was wrong was when we cut into them, it was more like sawing into them. Very tough like a select grade round steak. They were properly grilled between rare and med rare. The second and most telling that this was not Wagyu was the taste. Not even close, if you ever had Wagyu beef of any kind then you'll know what I'm talking about. Very pissed off and ripped off. If you can afford it compare with others then you'll see what we mean. Better to save your money and get it from a more established source. It's a shame, we wanted to support our local merchants. But not if they are going to screw us like that. For that Wagyu beef flavor, I wouldn't be surprised if they start injecting Wagyu Tallow into the cuts that they want to try and pass off as Wagyu. read more

Now this is a little gem of a place. Small store but they have some of THE BEST local grass-fed meat at very reasonable prices. The steaks we picked up rivaled some of the most expensive restaurants we've been to. You might miss the place if you're not looking close enough. It's in a tiny strip mall next to a gas station. Since we were filling up, we thought "what the heck, let's see what they have". Boy are we ever glad we did!!! Only downside is they keep some funky hours. read more

Danny and Tangie are the best. The first time my wife and I visited Woods & Cuds was yesterday (5/29/21), we were treated like we were regulars and Danny is so very knowledgeable about the products they sell. We bought a variety of meats, stuffed chops, bacon wrapped sirloin, shrimp, and a prime rib roast. We cooked the stuffed chops yesterday for dinner and they were outstanding. I smoked the prime rib roast today and it literally melts in your mouth, the bacon wrapped sirloin and shrimp are scheduled to be on the grill next weekend. Woods & Cuds is our new standard for fresh meat, we can't imagine buying our meat any place else. read more

Found this little shop hidden in a gas station strip center on the way to Lubbock. Stopped in to see what it was and they are the nicest people! The owner graduated from Tech, that must be why :) We picked up some made to cut steaks for the grill. They were AWESOME! So tender and juicy, there was no need for even a knife! We have been back three times on our travels to Lubbock/Levelland and always bring a cooler to stock up. Great little friendly place in a small town! read more

I work in Alvarado and I LOVE burgers - and all things meat, so I can't believe it took me this long to try this place. Their beef is all pasture raised which is a big plus in my book! I got 1lb of ground beef to make hamburgers. In my hast to cook them I totally forgot to season the meat and didn't notice until I took the first bite; but it probably really didn't need any seasoning because the meat was so good! I did add a little salt to it which just enhanced the flavor all the more! I can't wait to try the Raspberry jam I bought. All the meat products look great and the bacon wrapped jalapenos look awesome. I can't wait to go back and get the stuffed chicken. Try this little place you'll be glad you did! read more

Small town friendly service and excellent quality. I was driving back home from a trip to Houston so I stopped and stocked up. They will vacuum seal anything you want out of the butcher case, just in case you will be freezing it. They also have pre-packaged frozen cases so that you can get in and out quickly. There are a few different "grilling packages", hand cut rib eye steaks to your liking, and exotics such as duck bacon! I highly recommend the stuffed chicken beast or pork chops. It just makes dinner so easy. I also took home pork breakfast sausage, German sausage links, and a gorgeous chuck roast. They have so much variety that it's hard to not buy the whole store. It's all natural and beef is pasture raised, which makes me feel good about shopping here. read more

They will customize your order because there is a butcher on site. They also offer packages of a variety of meats for a reduced price. Overall the meat has been of a great quality and taste.
